Sokol1, I am grateful for your response, but I can't quite understand the details of what you're saying. Will I need a multimeter to tell whether it's the old or new board? I have solder and an iron, but would need to get a MM.

Hi Miles, I'm looking at getting my old Cougar back up and running with your kit. I don't know whether my unit has the old or new board (something I vaguely understand to be a problem from reading this thread). Should I open it up and check before ordering?
