Uploaded example Here's a track from the supplied SEAD mission. I turn up the AUX button. No growl, no tone. The same happens from a runway start; and the same happens in air to air using my sidewinders. The problem isn't (in this case) my forgetfulness about the AUX button. Any suggestions much appreciated. SEADfranx.trk

I’m not using the radio at all. This is software related. I also turn up the volume knob. It makes no difference. Still no tone.

Thanks SGT! Yes, I'm getting locks and kills, and I've turned up both of the knobs you mention. I get tone about 25-50 percent of the time. It's very erratic. This is either a bug or a problem with my specific install.

That's not it. ;( RWR is working fine, but my Sidearm simply won't growl or lock on or fire. I seem to be following every step properly. Not sure what's going on.

Fellas, I'm getting standard engine and world sounds in my AV8B SEAD missions but no radar or missile growling at all, nor any lock on sound. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I'm currently flying (when not crashing) the Harrier. My monitor is 3840x2160. But I also have a second monitor at 1680x1050 that I'd like to use. I've watched some of the "how to" videos and scanned the topics on this forum. Seems like a lot of work. My questions are more basic though. Is a second monitor of different size really that useful; does it add anything of substance to the experience? And how best should I use the second monitor -- what do most DCS users route to it? Thanks for any advice.

Thanks Thanks guys. This is helpful.

Is the TM Cougar MFD worth buying? How do most players use them? Specific example would be really helpful.

The training mission text is hard to read on my screen. But I’ll give it another go.

That sounds like it might be right. I fly the release version and haven't noticed any major update.

I bought and installed the Persian Gulf map a couple of months ago; does it automatically update to the final completed version?

Thanks to all above. I'm not having trouble with vertical take offs; it's the loss of reliable control in the final stages of a landing that's the issue. I seem to be doing everything suggested above. But obviously I'm missing something. Will doublecheck tonight and respond.

I've read and reread the manual and watched training videos, but no matter what I do I can't seem to keep stable control of my Harrier below 100 in knots -- the rocking starts, the machine seems to drop too fast, etc. At 60 knots and below, forget it. Crash city. How the heck do you keep a steady flight orientation as you enter such slow speeds? Is there some stabilizing system I'm forgetting to turn on?

Thanks guys. These comments are really helpful. F-18 it is.

I've been struggling with the AV-8B for the last two weeks and am now officially brain-fried. I just can't seem to master the basics. So I want to shift my attention to something a bit more friendly. I have both the F-18 and F-14 modules. Which is easier/faster to gain to some basic confidence in flight time and weapons systems? I do realize learning these modules can be a lengthy process. I just don't want to be shouting at the screen all the time. :noexpression: Thanks for any counsel.

Can't access lcntrol+Lalt+c When I hit lcntrl +lalt+c nothing happens. This is a new problem. It just stopped working for reasons I don't understand. Anyone have the same problem?

How do I access and use the AV8B load manager panel from within gameplay? I can't seem to find that anywhere.

In my key bindings my thrust and yaw axes clearly work fine and are recognized. But on the ground from a cold start, the AV8B does not recognize the throttle/thrust. From a hot start it recognizes the thrust but not the joystick yaw for steering. The ground steering may be connected to not properly using nosewheel steering? But what could the issue be with my throttle?

Fellas, for anyone in the Philadelphia area, I have a lightly used set of ch pedals and a TrackIR to give away. No charge. No joke. You just need to pick them up. The pedals are in excellent condition in the original box. Grandkids snapped one of stabilizing legs on theTIR, but I’ve been using it with tape successfully with no difficulty for a year. Just upgraded to a TIR 5. Pm me if interested.

The monitor is new and I was cycling through its controls improperly. But I tried exactly the same sequences with the NVidia card.

Thanks GD. I tried everything for a day and a half, then just got fed up and sent it back. Nothing worked. My Radeon R 390 gfx serves the need just fine now with DisplayPort connection, and I'll defer any nVidia card until I'm ready to switch from an AMD to an Intel mobo. Nothing like tech problems to make your week.

In an attempt to upgrade I bought a new Samsung QLED curved 27 " gaming monitor and a new EVGA Geforce rtx 2070. The card powers up fine, as does the monitor, but nothing shows up on the screen using either HDMI or DisplayPort cords. So I put my old Radeon R390 card back in, and while the DP connection produces nothing, the HDMI link does work. I suppose the 2070 could be a dud, but is it possible I'm missing some trick or step to fix this? Anyone else have this problem? Is there some button or control switch I've overlooked. The instructions on both items are just about non-existent.
