  1. Title says it all. I'm a VR user and pressing ; ' , . or whatever the 4 keys are to move the radar lock "thingy" up down left or right WHILE flying is very tough. Obviously you guys can bind it to something on HOTAS or whatnot but, it seems like that may be just as hard. How on earth do you F5 folks do this? I love the f5. I'm newer but still am pretty well versed in the F5 and this is always tricky. Please do share
  2. Well, here's the thing. The axis controls don't work with EVERY command and button. Axis seems to only work with maybe 10% or so of all the options/buttons. To be specific. I'm now pretty good after some time learning to fly the F-5 and I'm tired of always having to adjust pitch up or down (I think its called elevator trim or something like that officially) by pressing control and . or control and ; - That is tough in VR. I'm trying to make those commands set on some of my sliders/axis or whatever those sliding rotating buttons are. Please advise. Thank you!
  3. Trying to order one of these but Andre's shop says that it is "suddenly having an issue with paypal?" LOL, booooo. Really? What issue is there to suddenly have with Pay pal or credit card? If this were my business it would be remedied in minutes. Any thoughts on where else I can get one of these?
  4. Thanks again. Edit * Volair Ordered ! : ) I have seen that thread about the vesa Mount behind the monitors but based on what you were saying I don't really need those anyway correct? Doesn't the frame and seat adjust so that I can choose to be closer to the monitor? Remember for flight I mostly use VR and I only use one 34 inch curved monitor for my 2D gaming so I would imagine I won't need those vesa Mounts because the Volare will be able to adjust how close I am to the monitor on its own? ** edit - This 34" Samsung curved widescreen is my gaming/home office monitor. Link below. Will this mount properly? If not, what do I need to buy or do to mount it?? https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/curved/34--cf791-wqhd-monitor-lc34f791wqnxza/ Page 17 of this link to the manual (right below) shows the back of the monitor. I may of lost the original bracket that came with this monitor since I used the built in stand. What should I order to work with this monitor and the Volair once it arrives? http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/201801/20180123214940401/BN46-00559A-Eng.pdf
  5. Alright. That's awesome. Ordering the Volair then. Final question - anything else additional that is sold that you think I should add to my order? I'll do armrests...but, anything else I'm missing? Thanks again
  6. Interesting points fellas. Hmmm. Any thoughts on my questions 3 posts up about the volairs? The 4 or 5 questions that I listed?
  7. Thank you Strike! This is such a good answer. A couple quick points if I may - 1 - Some people above say that Volair does not have articulating keyboard but you say it does. Perhaps they have an older Volair? It seems like it articulates on their website so I SHOULD be able to game FPS type games and perform standard office work comfortably, correct? 2 - Any thoughts on monitor distance? If you tell me it is a bit far, is it adjustable somehow? Are there solutions such as a wall mount attachment aftermarket and simply extend the monitor forward? 3 - Any further thought on Volari armrests? Obutto doesn't have any and Volair does...which is huge to me. 4 - Oh and I like the way you seem to have it in the pic. Thruster on left, stick on right instead of mid, and then I prefer keyboard in middle. Basically x52 on sides and keyboard middle with articulation. This is possible out of the box, correct? 5 - Finally, even thought I use my regular desk at home with x52 on sides and think I will want the same with Volair, any thoughts on what I'm missing and that I may want flight stick in middle as some people do? I really think I'll want x52 on both sides but thought I'd ask Good stuff here. Anyone chime in please not just strike277 above. Making a purchase today so I truly value all of your varied input and perspectives.
  8. Pardon the bump. Father's day sale currently and deciding tomorrow. Any of you kind gents able to chime in regarding my questions above? Mainly worried about the volairs monitor distance
  9. I'm buying my first flight seat and after another post here led me closer to my choice I'm now deciding between the Obutto Ozone or the Volair. I'm a VR player with only 1 monitor, 1080 ti, x52, who pretty much only cares about VR and comfortability while playing with x52 and using a keyboard occasionally as needed. Also, when not in DCS or Elite Dangerous/ Star Citizen I'd like to be able to run my business with light home office work and also play "flat games" such as Overwatch, Dota, and Frostpunk etc. I'm leaning towards the Volair Sim (below) and thought I'd ask some of you experienced folks your thoughts. I like that it has armrests (which is important for comfort) that I may purchase separately, that the chair is rumored to be more comfortable, and that it can arrive in a week or two. Obutto is showing 60 days or so. Again I like the armrests of Volair and other features I mentioned as well. The only complaint Ive seen people say about the Volair is the monitor distance is a bit far. I wonder if I can adjust that somehow anyway or if anyone here has any thoughts? http://www.volairsim.com/home.html Any thoughts?
  10. Title says it all. I'm new so I'm intentionally trying to adjust one of the missions that came along with my purchase of the F-5 to have the map show me where I am on it and also show enemy units. I've gone into the mission editor, changed it from map only to map show all and saved the mission successfully into my own mission folder calling it Hercules Custom. I've also changed it to allow external views and labels. Again, I'm newer so this helps me. When I launch my version of the mission it now has labels and I can use external view but I cannot for the life of me see myself on the map anywhere or any of my wingmen or enemy units. I at LEAST need to see myself as I'm learning to navigate. Can anyone help me as to why this won't work? Thanks!

  12. This Obutto Looks great! I'm leaning towards that. A couple questions - - One thing I like is that this seems like an all purpose cockpit. Is this comfortable for regular office use as well? How about games like overwatch, dota, etc? - Arm rests are a must for me with my current office chair. Does Obutto's side rests on the main chair provide enough "relief" that it works the same or as well as arm rests? Want to stay comfy - Obutto's website says earliest delivery is July 31 or so. 2 months is a LONG time for an impatient person. Any tips on getting one quickly? I'm in the Los Angeles / Orange County California region. Great advice and tips guys. Thank you in advance!
  13. Ok I'll look for axis settings but currently, lets say I change open cockpit to the right stick button you pull up or down....i just go to adjust controls, open canopy, then press add or modify and after I click the button it sticks. For axis I cant just hit add or modify and just rotate the rotary button and make it stick? Can you elaborate a bit more? It seems like I can only bind "buttons or levers" but not the "STUFF on the x52" that rotates or slides. Hope that makes sense. TY!
  14. Experienced VR user here. 6 mo into DCS. I use voice attack to turn labels on and off completely but sometimes I need to see them : ) Problem is, the labels clump up and can cover the entire screen. What do you VR folks do or change to make good use of Labels in DCS? I'd love any solutions rather than just on and off. Thank you
  15. Hey all. I'm an experienced x52 user and have fully mapped everything in other games/sims before. For some reason, when I'm in DCS I can't seem to mod or set all of the buttons on my x52. I can set most on the flight stick but on the throttle (left hand x52) I can't set the Rotaries, Fire E button, or the precisions slide at all. Yes they all work, yes they all respond in other programs, and this must be something I must be missing. When I'm sitting in my F-5 I can mod almost everytihng on the flight stick when I'm in adjust controls but I can't set anything to the rotaries, Fire E button, or Precision slide at all. Can anyone please assist me here? Thank you!
  16. Hey all. 6 mo into DCS. Run it in VR and absolutely love this sim. It's time to start setting up a nice gaming flight seat and sim area at the house. I have the x52, 1080ti, 34" monitor, oculus, etc. Please advise - 1 - What would be a good flight seat? I'm googling and really am not sure what to look at. I found these (see below) and they basically are a swivel chair with areas to set my x52 on. I run in VR so am not too worried about monitor use as I prefer VR. What do you guys think makes sense for a flight seat? Don't we want something that also has an area for the keyboard just for navigating the desktop? Using some rare commands etc? https://www.google.com/search?ei=2JgQW6qoCMS4tQWex5vIBg&q=flight+seat+sim&oq=flight+seat+sim&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0j0i22i30k1l9.2733.3837.0.4284.6.5.1.0.0.0.116.464.4j1.5.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..0.6.463...0i67k1j0i20i263k1.0.NMgDaWy9vww I'm very open minded. Thank you in advance
  17. Any pointers for a chair with built in x52 spots? Also, what do most of you VR guys do with lables? I have a voice attack command to turn them on and off but am curious if you customize them somehow? When I'm flying a mission there can be labels covering the entire screen in vr (and plenty in non vr) that make targeting tough. Thanks again
  18. Thank you. OK. What about a chair with built in x52 spots. And preferably so my arms won't get tired (arm rests needed?)
  19. You know what, I'm going to take your advice and get a jetseat. Is it jetseat or flightseat? It's funny, I went to the input/output forums here and you'd think it'd be easier to see some options... but there are just random cockpits (all very cool!). I'm googling jet seats and don't know what to look for. Can anyone make some suggestions? Also, I'd like my left arm to also be able to rest on something while using the seat. Thank you in advance
  20. Using voice to text but I wanted to take a minute to share some updates since many of you were very hopeful. All of your assistance here has been put to use and I am thoroughly enjoying DCs. I have finished all training with the P-51 and I'm actually getting pretty decent to wear I'm on the 14th challenge mission where I have to strafe a few trucks and Dodge AAA. I'm surprised at how much I improved when I just fly a bit per day and that each day becomes much easier. I'm actually managing to land the P-51 about half the time now although that sure is tricky with the bouncing regardless. My snap views are all working also. With all this in mind I thought I'd ask a couple more questions. 1 - I guess this isn't a question but an observation. I love these maps and the caucus map truly is huge. When I do a mission even in one small area of the map and press F10 I can see how truly large this is and how much detail are in these Maps. Are they all about the same size and this incredibly large? 2 - I've asked about multiple thank you. But in a nutshell can I just for quick multiplayer enjoyment find some server in the list and just jump in with my P-51 and Free Flight with other players? Or is it more involved to where I truly need to join a group of people which I'm not against and then play with those folks? 3 - I'll sneak in a quick ATC question. It seems as if when I press backslash and then f v f 1 f 1 that it doesn't quite request landing. Is there a link to a quick easy way to use ATC guide you'd be surprised how little came up with Google besides hour long videos. Voice to text so pardon of the F5 and other things looking odd above!
  21. Hey there bud I am new to DCS and just learned the P-51 pretty well and am thoroughly enjoying the game. I stumbled across your post here and am curious, can you tell me a little bit about how you flew to Dubai RL? I'm not being sarcastic I'm not a pilot in real life and I'm enjoying and increasingly curious about flight after using DCS for the last 6 months. Would you mind sharing just in a few sentences what you flew in from where to where? You can private message me or reply here of course I'm new and simply curious thank you exclamation
  22. Well, the good news is I've created 3 snap views in my p51. Now, on the main view when I load into my plane, i'm 2 inches from the cockpit. My "default" zoom when looking straight ahead is now far too close. I've tried resetting to defaul snap views 1-3 but when I load back into my P-51 I'm too close to the cockpit in vr. Any tips on a fast way I can just "reset my standard distance" in my cockpit. I have a recentering button but am not talking about that...it's just defaulted far too close now. Thank you in advance
