  1. I don't see it on my QUEST 3 but one of the Stingers who has the Samsung Odyssey said it was very distracting last night. Resolution my in game is set to 1920x1080. I moved my gamma from 2.2 up to 3.0 to make the cockpit a bit brighter, just personal pref. When I lifted the visor up it would a good simulation of taking your sunglasses off on a sunny day
  2. Thanks everyone! Yes Jayhawk I have a little treadmill that I film myself walking in front of a greenscreen. It's silly but I just love being able to see myself walking around on the flight deck
  3. Thank you! I was soooo nervous, but he was such a cool friendly guy.
  4. Hi thank you! no sorry I haven’t got a podcast, you can download the video in lo-res and play it then turn your screen off and just listen, I do that a lot nowadays.
  5. Hi folks - I was fortunate enough to spend an afternoon with the amazing Heater. Taking all my questions from flying the Heatblur F-14 Tomcat around the boat Heater kindly recorded an interview of all the nitty gritty details of flying the Tomcat. Hope you all enjoy! P.S I showed him lots of DCS footage and I think he is keen to get into the cockpit of the F-14 with us!
  6. Thanks to everyone in this thread helping me keep plugging away at this, great info everyone thank you. Switched to new router and Virtual Desktop and have been enjoying DCS again without constant fear of disconnects. I even bought the meta battery strap and flew for over 3 hours on the weekend without charging and still had an hour left I think of battery so that’s pretty awesome to be totally unplugged. Was talking to other pilots in the Stingers as we have all had VR from CV1 day one and it worked much better back then ha ha. Some of our guys are still on the older headsets (CV1/Samsung Odyssey/Reverb) and are enjoying solid DCS performance. Not sure why it’s so hard for Meta now but it’s very frustrating. But yeah I’ll keep and eye out for updates but just for info I gave up and switch to VD / wireless and it’s working good.
  7. I bought a new router and flew in Virtual Desktop for a bit which was nice but the visuals still aren’t as nice as with the link cable. But it is worth to not be stressing out over a random disconnect. I needed a new router anyway, the home internet speed is now much faster. I even tried connecting using the meta airlink and that is stuck on the 3 dots loading screen too. Also looking at a Quest battery strap now so I can fly totally wireless…or should I cut my losses and get a pimax
  8. Aw man sorry to hear - I got the update and spent a couple minutes just in desktop with no crashes but didn’t get time to try it out in game. I am at new router/wireless virtual desktop stage I think.
  9. Yeah man it seems every couple of days they send me a new ‘fix’ to waste an hour of my life on with zero acknowledgement there is anything wrong with their software. I am at the point of either 1. Buy a Pimax or 2. New router / battery strap and Virtual Desktop.
  10. That’s awesome TED, I will switch over next week I think. I got Virtual Desktop working but my router is old so will have to buy a better one. For records there was a new Meta Link update for me tonight - did not fix the issue. Meta emailed me this to try which I did tonight and it did not fix the issue: “Disconnect the Rift/Link cable from the computer Disconnect your computer from the internet Backup any necessary content You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here. Reboot into Safe Mode You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here. Uninstall the Meta Horizon PC app using the Control Panel You can find steps on how to do so by clicking here. 11. Sometimes it hangs on the load screen (3 dots or new animation). Other times it loads in ok and is connected to PC for a minute but if you run anything the screen freezes and around the edges of views it renders jagged lines like an 80s music video. I’ve tried headset factory reset, new meta cable, complete delete and reinstall of software, normal version plus beta … Meta support is also pretty hopeless, I must be 2 weeks in to the most inane messages from different people asking the same questions over again with zero acknowledgment that there is anything wrong with their software. I’ve given up trying to get it to work and just check every few days to see if they’ve fixed it, if not I just go back to doing other hobbies.
  12. Negative for me - I just did the new update 77 and link is still broken. Sometimes will connect to PC but then freezes and you see jagged lines when you look around. Then trying to reconnect just the waiting screen.
  13. UPDATE - Meta Link still broken. I just checked today after a Meta update and it’s not even connecting to the PC at all now, just stuck on the new loading screen. I haven’t had time to try your process Dutch but thanks for posting. Am hoping they just fix their software.
  14. Yes can confirm, latest update broke my Quest 3 PC link and I was unable to fly our Friday night mission. Will try out the above fix.
  15. All the Stingers are very amped for F-35C and would love to be able to land it on the ship, thanks in advance.
