Pimax Crystal Light - Great FPS but still micro stutters
paul2437 replied to MarkyMarkUK's topic in Pimax
My rig more or less the same as yours except 13900KF mine stutters across the board 72-90-120hz with render at .90 and PD at 1.0 tried different Nvidia drivers to no avail. Hoping DCS next update may improve MT which I believe is the culprit. Using Pimax Crystal Sim version. Update.Been in contact with my PC supplier who recommended I upgrade my BIOS as there is an issue with 13/14 generation CPUs. Uninstalled Pimax Play removed all traces from registry etc. Disconnected headset completely and removed battery and reinstalled Pimax Play Reboot connect headset direct to pc after a short test in DCS no flickering [yet] will test more tomorrow. -
Hi Calvin Any feedback from the logs I sent you.

Sorry I already rolled back to version 1.18.03 so no logs. I have uninstalled DCS world due to frustration with the games stability both VR and 2D. The crashes occurred at varying times from initially entering the game to in flight after 2-3 minutes and thats at 72hz-90hz and 120hz all occasions it would freeze then crash. As the openxr toolkit and pimaxxr are no longer supported by the author I dont know if thats an issue. In all there are to many variables to pinpoint the main issue but eyetracking seems to be the main culprit. Another point is if you have your mouse polling rate above 500 that also induces visual lag stuttering and eventual crashes. I have got the headset working in another sim after lengthy windows 11 reinstall and PC bios change. UPDATE I will reinstall DCS and PImaxplay 1.29 to see if the windows reinstall and BIOS update made any difference.

Pimax Play v1.29.01 Using Pimax Crystal Flightsim version. For Calvin. Latest Pimax PLay 1.29 headset keeps crashing out of game not just DCS others as well. Front of headset gets very hot. Tried reinstalling etc still no difference.

Confirmed, ED fixed the low-level jerking/stuttering.

Following video advice from VR flightsim guy on youtube changed my nvidia drivers back to 552.44 and has had a positive effect with pimax crystal at 72hz and 90hz -

I dont know with the quad views bug I could not use vr. The past few patches my 2d and vr has gone down hill I think multi threading has a lot to do with it running a I9 13000KF 64gb Ram and a 4090 -

paul2437 replied to Bojanglez's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Hi all I am running a 13900KF, 4090, 64gb ram MSI motherboard and my system was overheating with different programs. My Vr performance in DCS was up and down sometimes ok sometimes not. Using the Pimax crystal at 72hz helped a lot but I came across an article @ Is your Intel Core i9-13900K crashing in games? Your motherboard BIOS settings may be to blame — other high-end Intel CPUs also affected (Updated) | Tom's Hardware (tomshardware.com) I changed my bios settings reduced my overclock followed the article and its cooled the system. Today in DCS my vr performance has stabilised. I am not saying this is perfect by any means but its worth a read and draw your own conclusions -
Complete crash and it shut down my system completely while flying in vr [Pimax Crystal] F18 free flight Caucasus Map. Log File attached. I dont know if it was my system or the game. Windows 11, CPU 13900KF @ 5600mhz ,64GB Ram @4800mhz GPU MSi 4090 all latest drivers etc any help appreciated. dcs.log

Got this from Pimax if its any help to anyone my camera settings were off. Many thanks for your information. We have checked your log file and found the camera permissions may not be correct, please follow the chart below to check. Passthrough function requires camera access, if you can't use it , please try following steps: Go to [Settings] -> [Privacy & Security] -> [Camera] -> turn on "Camera Access" -> turn on "Let desktop apps access your camera". Look forward your information Best regards,

I have had it working but its hit and miss image is poor and an FPS hit in DCS I will wait until Pimax develops this function further before trying again.
-
I am using the HUB I checked the UVC camera settings it was not configured. I still cannot get a passthrough image via the headset but when turning on windows camera i can see the moving image within the windows camera window but not in the headset. Also within the headset there is two images one with the shape of the headset with a green tick and one with an exclamation mark in orange

When I get an answer from Pimax I will post the result. But that could be some time.

A drastic measure, I have put in a ticket to pimax and since fully uninstalled including registry keys then reinstalled and still the same. The updated Pimaxplay when setting to 72hz the option for 90hz and 120hz disappears and other settings get changed with no input from me. I believe there is a conflict somewhere.
-
Since the latest firmware and software update 27 Feb the option for passthrough within pimaxplay I have ticked it but its not working. I may be doing something wrong or its a software glitch any help appreciated

NVCP set to max performance when crash happened carried out up to step 4. Ran similar mission on other maps and it was fine it may be the Sinai Map or some other gremlin. VR works fine crash happened in 2d with Trackir 5
-
I will try the recommendations within DCS and Windows but I am not delving into the BIOS as from past experience that normally opens another can of worms.
-
Using the Sinai Map in a simple tutorial mission created in the Mission Editor flying the F1CE. The screen freezes after about 10-15 mins. Within the DCS log file there is lot of errors stated but I don't have enough knowledge to effect a remedy. Any help appreciated. Carried out a full repair of the installation already. dcs.log 333v.miz
