  1. It works wonders in SP, but I keep getting an error in MP with some of the files: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shader "bazar/shaders/model/glass_material.fx"failed to compile. Reason: warning X4717: Effects deprecated for D3DCompiler_47 functions/glass.hls(82,9-43): warning X3206: implicit truncation of vector type functions/glass.hls(101,64-79):error X3018: invalid subscript 'DIFFUSE_UV' ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Any Thoughts?
  2. I am going still going through my options, but I just want to show my full specs in order to show you guys what I am coming from (med textures, everything else low or off in VR). -Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 GHz -G.Skill DDR4 2400 16 GB -Gigabyte Wind-force Rx 460 -Sand Disk 250 GB SSD -Asus X 370 -1TB HDD With these specs (and settings above) I get 45-90 fps 95% in 1.5.8 My question is how much of a performance boost will I get with a better GPU? I am ok with this rigs performance. I hadn't gotten around to buy the GPU before the Oculus, but it works surprisingly well (including in other games). If the performance is a lot better between each GPU, then I would believe a 1060 or 1070 would manage at least medium-ish settings with some light pixel density, especially in the coming of 2.5. But maybe they aren't that much of a difference at all and I would like to get that cleared up, especially with my rig's specs now shown. I really want to get good performance for less money. With my experience with a 460, a GTX 1060 should do just fine since it is over 100% faster, but maybe I am wrong, at least in terms of DCS.
  3. I can get a GTX 1080 G1 Gaming for $570 and the cheapest 1080 Ti (Asus Turbo) i can find is $740. The difference is 170, and I am not certain when I could cover that.
  4. A 1080 is probably what I am going to probably going to end up with since I can't afford more. Settings wise, how much does PD affect performance? Could I get away with lowering PD from 1.5 to 1.2-ish (or lower, 1.0 min) and have medium settings with a 1080? If so then I would be ready to decide.
  5. Thanks for the response! I will most likely wait until we see what kind of performance and optimization 2.5 brings, and maybe DCS might be more hardware friendly (naively hopeful here but you never know). I also cant wait for vulkan... :)
  6. I would love to get the 1080 Ti, but I just cant afford it right now. What kind of performance would I be getting with a 1080, and is it low enough to justify waiting for the next gen of gpu's?
  7. The only thing I need for a vr-ready pc is a graphics card. I was thinking of choosing a graphics card somewhere in between a 1060 through a 1080. I know that the 1080 Ti is the best performer, but I don't want to spend that amount of money right now. Right now I have an Rx 460 which is actually not bad in vr (45fps max, low settings), but I would love to be able to play at medium to high settings at 1.0-1.5 ss with minimum 45 fps ASW. Any suggestions are welcome! :pilotfly: :helpsmilie: ps I use a CV1.
  8. Digital Engine posted a video of some key SteamVR settings that will improve frame rates in the Vive and stutters. And read the description! And there is this other video on a program that allows you to use the vive wands inside the cockpit to flip switches and it looks awesome! :pilotfly:
