  1. the F-15C being a "9 G" fighter doesn t mean that it will break up at 11G.

     

    that means it is officially "safe" until 9G, and due to safety measure, it means it was built to wistand over 10G. what happens beyond those "safe" G is likely to damage the structure of the plane, not to destroy it outright.

     

    I have read somewhere ( i can t find it anymore… ) that a mirage III wistood a full 13 G, and after inspection, was put back into service with little maintenance.

  2. The question is - If the missiles is guided by the radar, how comes it gets lured by chaffs while the radar still keeps the target locked?

    it shouldn't get lured, at least not as they currently are.

     

    the missiles heads to where the radar is illuminating, but because DCS radar are quite simplified about their interaction with ECM / Chaffs, the SARH missiles currently behave like all aspect IR guided missiles which require a radar lock on ( but doesn't guide on it ), while the radar never get lured by chaff.

    more or less wrong : France was officially in NATO from 1949 to 1966 ( which includes mirage III time of devloppement and arround 1/3rd of its first line active service ) and from 2009 to our day. And when it wasn't officially in NATO, it was still linked to it.

     

    France was always part of NATO since 1949, it had just left the integrated military command structure of it from 1966 to 2009

  4. c'est un problème connue par les développeurs, le Hawk est scotché au sol s'il y a du vent dans la mission, ils sont cependant incapable d'en trouver la cause.

     

    certains utilisateurs préconisent d'inverser les axes du "freinage avec les pieds " ( palonnier ), à essayer ?

  5. i have first tried to explain you how to make the mod yourself..

     

    then i have tried to explain you how to install Hawkeye60 mod because you wrote it didn't work.

     

     

    to get the mod working, you just have to replace the old ( original ) Su-27.lua and Su-33.lua in the DCS folder ( via your file manager ) by the files modified by Hawkeye60.

  6. go to your DCS folder ( the real one, not the saved-game one )

     

    DCSWorld\Scripts\Database\planes

     

    replace the su-27.lua file by the one included in Hawkeye60's download.

     

    it should work, you should be able to load R-24T, R-33, R-40T, R77 on every weapon and be able to fire them without problem.

     

    if you want to play on a protected ( mod-wise ) multiplayer server, re-replace the su-27.lua file by the original one.

    Please do. Notice that in the 33, it appears that 9 and 10 are available.

    the su-33 has 12 pylons, while the su-27 only has 10, the increased number of slots for R-77 ( where it could be loaded weight-wise ) as i have adviced to set only reflects this.

     

     

    plane : ............wing....... /.fuselage./.......wing..

     

    su-27 pylons : 1, 2, 3,....../4, 5, 6, 7,/....8, 9, 10

     

    su-33 pylons : 1, 2, 3, 4, / 5, 6, 7, 8,/ 9 ,10,11, 12

     

     

     

    PS : in Hawkeye60's file the added missiles can be loaded on all pylons.

  8. the ( su-27 ) file i suggests you to edit lists the weapons which can be loaded on each pylons of the Aircraft.

     

     

    each pylon of a plane in that file is identified by its number and some coordinates, for example ; pylon 3 is identified by " pylon(3, 0, -1.137000, -0.321000, -4.524000,"

     

    each weapon in the game has an id which usually looks like { 14598826.....853UJKSHQDFMK}, but which is " loadout_R77" in R-77 case.

     

     

    if you add the key of a given weapon to the list of keys under a specific pylon, then you will be able to load that weapon on that pylon on that plane in mission editor and in rearming menu.

     

    in our case, i suggest you to add " loadout_R77, " ( don't forget the com " , " ) in the list of weapon's keys which are listed under pylons 3,4,5,6,7,8 because if those pylons can wistand the weight and the wiring to load and fire R-27s, they could probably load and support R-77 in a world where su-27S could fire R-77. ( you can do the same on Su-33 under pylons 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 ).

     

    yes you will be able to fire R-77 without problem ( i have even tested it before posting, i didn't know if it still worked like in FC2 ), and it will be fire and forget ( was part of the test ).

     

     

     

     

    the weapons that you can add and that you will then be able to load, BUT that you won t be able to select/fire or guide are the weapons which require sensors or avionnic that the su-27 doesn't have ( Mavericks which requires TV lock, anti-ships missiles which requires air to surface missiles, nuclear bomb which might requires special fusing... ).

     

    i guess that you can add AIM-54 phoenix, R-33, or R-60 ( seeking their keys inside F-14, Mig-31, Mig-23's file ) and the su-27 will be able to fire them ( however you won't be able to target several targets at the same time in AIM-54/120 case )

    The pylons are in the 100s in the file and the R27 appears like this:

    So I am a little confused on what to do. Could you please provide an example.

    you just have to add " loadout_R77, "on pylons 3,4,5,6,7,8. ( the ones you want to be able to load R77 on )

     

    it looks weird because the "key" for R-77 missile is completely different from the usual {123456789ABCD} like keys, but it is the same.

     

    you want a weapons on a FC-3 level craft ? just add the key of this weapon on that kind of file under the correct pylons number.

     

    PS : (sniped ) : yes it will still allow the su-27 to use all its weapons, it just adds R-77 to the list of available weapons on the selected pylon.

     

    you can even add nuclear warhead, hellfire missiles, AIM-120C or Surface to surface anti-ship missiles.... you won't be able to fire most of the "stranger" weapons ( lack of avionic ) but you will be able to load your su-27 with them.

  10. go to your DCS folder :

    copy the Su-27 file ( backup )

     

    then open the original Su-27 file with textbook

     

    and copy " loadout_R77, " on every pylons where you can see R-27s

     

    done !

     

    PS : it doesn t pass IC of course, so most MP server are forbidden

  11. you have the emergency mode and the programmed release mode.

     

    you can select the programmed mode with the right side panel, what each of the 10 programs do is explained by the kneeboard.

     

    in MP you may find that program 7 is the best for chaff while program 8 is the best for flares, program 10 is only used for inverted flyby above unaware team mates.

  12. I picked Yak-38 thinking it was the Yak-130, but it is a more interesting aircraft.

     

    Someone needs to pick aircraft from this list and get on with it, particularly if they're in your roadmap already: OV-10D Bronco, AH-1W Super Cobra, A-37 Dragonfly, Alphajet, Yak-130, A-1 Skyraider, A-4 Skyhawk - including OA-4M, A-6 Intruder, A-7 Corsair II, F-100 Super Saber, F-104 Starfighter, F-105 Thunderchief, F-8 Crusader, F-4 Phantom, F-16 Falcon, Jaguar, Tornado, F-111, Su-17/22 Fitter, MiG-23/27 Flogger, Su-24 Fencer, Su-30 Flanker C, B-52 Stratofortress, B-1B Lancer, Tu-16 Badger, Tu-95 Bear, Tu-22M Backfire, UH-60 Blackhawk, CH-47 Chinook, CH-53 Super Stallion.

     

    A-4 Skyhawk is already being made, there is a community mod on it.

     

    F-4 Phantom is being made by Belsimtek

     

    Mig-23/27, some 3rd party dev said they were not going to develop it ( Razbam being among them )

     

    Su-30 is probably way too modern for russia allowing developpement of it, also, there is a FC3 mod being made.

     

    Tu-22M, a team is trying to develop it as a DCS quality module

    As a gazelle owner, and because i have just bought Nevada, i have noticed that there was a discussion about the gazelle in Blue Flag there : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=175262&page=393

     

    i have noticed that the main argument against the introduction of the gazelle in Blue flag was :

    "it has guided missile, it would announce the introduction of ka-50, which is way too moderm for BF"

     

    i would like to underline that the gazelle comes in 3 different versions :

     

    - "Mistral", A-A version with 4 stinger like missiles

     

    - M, with 4 guided HOT-3 sub-sonic anti-tank missiles with a hard range limit of 4.2km ( =/= 12 supersonic laser guided Vikhr with a 10km range )

     

    - L with a fixed 20mm gun and 8x68mm rockets.

     

    Even if the A-A version is not welcomed in BF, even if the "M" version is too "modern" for BF, the L version is pretty much a smaller Huey with a smaller payload.

  14. Hello,

     

    When the m2000's engine is off for some reasons ( out of fuel, hit... ), the controls ( roll, yaw and pitch ) of the plane stop working in an intermittant way.

     

    even if i press the hydraulic switch on the left console, i lose, regain, lose controls again and again.

     

    the controls often get stuck while they are moving ==> results in unstoppable barrel roll if a little roll and pitch were being applied when it happenned.

  15. Few questions:

     

    1. When you fire an R-77 in the MiG's TWS mode, does it work the same way as the F-15, where the enemy only gets a RWR notification at the missiles pitbull? Or do they get a RWR warning when you launch the missile, instead of at pitbull?

     

    2. If an Su-27 or MiG is in IRST and it fires a radar-guided missile, will the radar automatically turn on?

     

    1 the TWS mode of the MIG-29S is the same as the MIG-29A/G and SU-27 one, it isn t a TWS mode like the F-15 at all, not even like m-2000C TWS mode. It is just a mode in which your antenna will follow your unlocked target until it comes inside max launch range, then it will lock the target in STT so that you can fire your missiles.

     

    The target will alway get a launch RWR warning immediatly.

     

     

    2 i have just tried it, and yes it works, the radar will turn on as you fire your R-27ER/R.

  16. Hello, i have recently bought Combined Arm, and i noticed a few things.

     

    you have prevented CA owner to control individual ground units ( we can't jump into a BMP and play with it for exemple ), however, we can still control all the allied units on the F10 map ( move there, shoot on that...).

     

    That means the "issue" you tried to fix a few time ago is still there, one can still select ground units arround an Airport and send them kilometers away. This is especially true because you formed all the defensive perimeter arround Airport as a single ground units group.

     

    According to CA manual, you should change the "tactical commander" slots into "Advanced observer" slots, so that to prevent CA owners to move whole groups of ground units at once while still allowing them to play as GCI.

     

    It would then be great to re-allow people to drive individual units arround, to play with BMP and like, and also to be able to use JTAC.
