  1. The Air Boss station has to be enabled as a SC option in the mission editor, and then once in the mission, you have to select the air-boss station at the briefing page. It's a stand-alone slot. You can't switch back and forth while you're flying basically. Once you are in it, use "lalt-c" to bring up the cursor, and when it turns green over a screen, right click on your mouse to zoom in and interact with any option keys it has.
  2. You also need to select either the LSO or Air Boss role when / where you would normally pick your aircraft slot. (I dont think you can jump back and forth between the two "roles" - its either pilot or Air Boss). Once you do that you can interact with the LSO or Air Boss screens. The "LAlt-c" command will change your cursor to either a yellow "X" or a green dot. In the Air Boss station, put the green dot on a monitor, right-click with your mouse, and it zooms to that screen allowing you to interact with it. I still can't get the NVG/IR plat-cam to work at the LSO platform. If someone knows how to do that, it would be appreciated.
  3. I'm interested. (Kazoo gave me a heads up there was an opening). Been flying the DCS 18 exclusively since it's release. Most recently instructing at the DCS Hornet School. Looking for a good group to get back into missions / front-line flying. Homer knows me as well - flew with him a while back.
  4. This is a short YT video of a USN F-18 pilot making a recent C-1 landing on the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). So, watching this video, skip to 5:45 as the pilot passes the 90 and starts lining up with the boat. At 5:51 the "ball" becomes visible on the deck, and at 6:04 or so he's fully in the groove. What interests me is how bright the ball is. It's clearly visible and can be used for it's intended purpose. I am always frustrated by how dim it is on the SC - next to invisible actually. I always wish it were brighter, and this video seems to suggest that IRL it is. Does the ball seem dim to anyone else? Additionally, it seems the IFLOS itself on the actual boat is a bit larger than the one on the SC in DCS.
  5. I am finding the F-18 taxi light to be so dim that it is functionally useless as a ground light. It fails to illuminate anything further than about 10-15 feet in front of the aircraft. I find myself taxing with the NVGs instead. Is there a setting somewhere in DCS that I can change to fix this?
