  1. I am going to take a look at this option. Reason: Im trying to install DCS from scratch and the installer complains my downloadsfolder is too small. It claims that it needs 18GB but it can only find 16GB while the entire drive has 30GB free. I have no idea where the installer concluded that this particular folder has limits. I looked at support sites for windows but i could not find a setting limiting the downloadsfolder only. So i went looking for any suggestion and i will try yours.
  2. Thanks guys, im reading this with interest. I was looking for some confirmation on the "nervous" behavior of the F-5 and it looks like it's not my stick that is broken. I can't keep it straight yet but i will look at the trim and other options mentioned in more detail when i have time.
  3. I can only give you my own view, hope this helps in deciding. I chose the F-5 for nostalgic reasons and for now i will not buy any ww2 related planes for DCS. When it comes to ww2, i stick with il-2. I generally like a bit of "older" planes of days gone by. Our airforce had the NF-5 (a modified F-5) during the 70's/80's and this also adds to my nostalgia. The relative simplicity of the plane also spoke to me, the cockpit is much simpler than let's say an F-16. As a family dad, i didn't want to spend too much time learning the cockpit from scratch. The cockpit has quite good visibility allround. The graphics, you say they are not so good, i don't agree with that. But then again, this is not my focal point, i think im not so demanding here. Last thing, but not least, the F-5 is a bit of a niche plane to me, it is not so common in flightsims as an F-15 for example.
  4. Let me emphasize the fact i have issues with my nose, more than other people. So anything that touches it can hamper my breathing, it takes little to bother me. But yes, i hope that i can solve the VR thing by finding a right setup. It took me quite some time fitting it and it still did not fit comfortable. And i do not want to risk spending a load of money until i can find a good way to put it on my head. I am not sure shops are willing to lend me a kit to test it for a week or so. But you say it never touches your nose? that sounds odd to me, because it leans/rests on my nose like glasses do.
  5. I have never tried Track IR before, but im leaning towards that for now. Reason : I tried the oculus and no matter how hard i try to set it up, it keeps blocking my nose giving me a very unpleasant ride. The sheer weight of the thing bothers me, it leans on my nose and i have to breathe through my mouth the whole time. Maybe there is a way to set it up so it does not bother me, but knowing the issues i have with breathing i doubt i will ever find a good fit with the current oculus. I am not going to invest in any VR anytime soon, unless i can try different setups over a period of a week or so to get a decent feel.
  6. Is this also relevant to the plane bobbing up and down constantly? I was looking for a solution to this, i would love to fly the Mig-21, but now its almost impossible for me because it is so nervous. I cannot keep the plane steady, its kind of nerve wrecking.
  7. I have looked and searched for mig-21, but i cannot seem to find the separate section for this? It's from leatherneck, but i also could not clearly find that section. Am i just not looking well?
