  1. Well, I do like my aircraft to have 30mm cannons. I suspect though that at least some of the time, what sim gets released will be influenced by what projects they are working on for military contracts. I think this was the reason why the A-10C essentially leapfrogged over the A-10A and others (based on that roadmap so very long ago). The Apache may in fact get pushed out of the way should they end up working on a contract for another aircraft (let's say the F-15 just for the benefit of putting a name to it). Would I be disappointed? Sure because it's one of the ones I'm waiting for. But I do think it is entirely understandable. Why shouldn't they roll those contracts into their sim development? It would be so much better than having to stop entirely so they could focus on another aircraft not on the roadmap laid out a long time ago. Just my $0.02.
  2. Thanks for the photos. We've actually got the exact same monitor. Glove looks just about professionally made. I hadn't considered that there would be a slight zoom anyway just by having to lean forward to touch the screen. Thanks for the help.
  3. Sorry to open this up again. I was wondering from those people who have done this what size monitor they are using and what is the resolution of that monitor. In addition, are you finding that the switches and stuff on the screen are large enough for you to interact with, or do you find that you need to move your head forward to "zoom" in to get a larger area to "hit". Thank you for any insight you can provide.
  4. I just want to say thank you. Knowing how complicated this simulation is going to be I really appreciate all the hard work you guys did in creating tutorial videos that give us all some idea of what's in store. This advance release of the manual really helps us learn the systems. I think it will also help us dream until the big day. Thank you very much.
  5. With only 23 posts, have you considered re-registering? The main reason I suggest this is because I question the wisdom of having your email address as your display name. That email address could be harvested and sold very easily. Lots of spam.
  6. That is what I thought you were trying to say. I have troubles on Saturday night as well :)
  7. I know you want to help. Thank you for helping. " You are not able not use "span mode" in vista - "dual mode" allows not to show one DirectX application on both screens." You have answered my question. Danke.
  8. I'm sorry about the way that I wrote my question. I forgot you are German. I will write my question again. I have Vista. Can I do what you showed in your video with Vista? Can I do what you showed in your video with widescreen monitors? I don't have Microsoft Flight Sim right now. I would like to use what you showed in your video with MS FS.
  9. Ironhand made such great tutorials for Lomac. Not to take anything away from Wags great videos of BS.
  10. @Urze: So it sounds like what you are saying is that if a person was to have Vista (such as myself), I'm really only going to be able to use a single touchscreen though. However, I can use another, normal monitor above it, much like how you do in that video you have on veoh.
  11. Thanks for confirming that. Wasn't sure if they added a couple more things from the A-10A throttle and it appears that they have then so now it matches the F-15.
  12. Congrats on your program with the USAF. It's also really nice to see some advanced views of what we may get in the future. Love those huge screens too. While the stick looks very much like an F-16 stick, the throttle which is not pictured is very similar to the F-15 throttle.
  13. Don't be afraid to set a little deadzone just for the beginning phase, just until you get used to it. It really helps a lot because you'd be surprised how much you move your head. Once it becomes very natural you can then reduce or eliminate it entirely.
  14. This is totally what I thought when I first saw the image, but I had not ambition to put it into anything concrete. Nice job!
  15. The ForceFX headphones from eDimensional exist right now. I really like mine. I've been thinking about the Buttkicker but was concerned that it may create too much noise. Sounds like it can be quite silent as long as you don't crank it which would be great for me.
  16. I'm hoping CH is going to build a throttle not unlike what is in the -22, or at the very least what's in the F-15/A-10 which are very similar. I've brought it up to them on a number of occasions. Whether they listen is another story altogether.
  17. Urze, Is it possible for you to go into more of a demonstration about how you achieved this? I see you have one monitor which is primarily for your view, and I see you have your touchscreen below. I too have TrackIR. Is this just a simple multi-monitor setup using windows? Were there any pitfalls you ran into while trying to do this? Right now, I have a nice 22" widescreen monitor, and I have found a site that sells 22" widescreen touchscreens. So could I theoretically plug that into my nvidia card and then I'm ready to go or is it more involved in that. I think this is the direction I would like to go in. I just hope that Vista isn't going to be a problem with this setup. Thank you in advance for any further explanations you can supply.
  18. I could be wrong, but you may be confusing some people's setups with another. The setup I was referring to was where the entire cockpit was represented on two screens (sort of like a vertical arrangement of double-head-to-go). Unless I am misinterpreting what you have written.
  19. I think I have found my dream setup. I'll have to search for the post you mention where he talks about how he set it up. I looked on the site but while I found the video there too, I was unable to find any specifics to how he set things up to do this. I think that for clickable cockpits that will likely be a hallmark of all the DCS sims to come, this is the way to go. Urze is a genious, really. I wonder if just one touchscreen is enough to do the whole job - not have a two monitor setup at all.
