The JA 37 was practically a new aircraft compared to the other Viggen versions, the airframe was more or less the only thing they had in common. So a making a JA 37 for DCS would mean developing it from scratch.

I mean much of the systems such as the AMRAAMS can be copy-pasted from other aircraft, then it may also be possible to get Saab onboard for some assistance with the research.

I was doing a bit of looking around and I found this. I'm interested. What are the chances of getting a more modern version of the Viggin? From what I've been reading the JA37D started hitting squadrons in 1993.
