  1. Hello everyone, I’m sure this question has been asked before - please advise how to “refresh” the existing liveries for non flyable jets in DCS. Is it even possible to make them a little more HD? Any help is appreciated!
  2. The ED in its official capacity may not be willing to deal with projects requiring access to classified Soviet documents - and that is totally understandable, we know that and we are not asking for that. In the meantime, third party developers AND specifically the community members who are not bound by any official capacities, are free to research in any way they want within the reasonable constraints. A lot of folks here speculate about lack of documentation with a premise that lacks any evidence. And if you do, feel free to contact and we’ll discuss it. At the end of the day, we talk about searching for materials to develop software for a computer simulation game. There are many countries where redfor planes were exported, and finding the documentation is a matter of efforts and some time UNLESS all those attempts, in reality are failed - no one can convince us that something is not possible. Cheers. P.S. Not sure who was trying to hire a lawyer but it was not me
  3. Some good pics here from Monino aviation museum https://igor113.livejournal.com/1149483.html
  4. For those who speak Russian. I’ll translate key points of the interview soon.
  5. We are building a community of people who think the MiG-25 can make the difference in the DCS as we know it. And I’m 100% sure it’s that iconic plane, old enough but still relevant for the Sinai and Syria maps. Large enough community can demonstrate that making the Foxbat will be commercially successful. We can even count on you buying the module, as soon as a third party developer releases the beta version. Moreover, I’m confident many DCS pilots will buy it. For example, being a fan of the redfor, I still bought F-18 and the carrier because I was curious about carrier ops. Then the interest grew and I bought the F-14. The high altitude reconnaissance/interceptor/bomber is not only interesting as a concept, but also very challenging to pilot properly to utilize its strengths.
  6. Thank you very much sir! I’ll PM you soon with some ideas.
  7. Lots of diminishing rhetoric here. A myth? Are you a community myth buster? Clearly you are trying to dissuade us all here. What’s at stake? Are you afraid that some third party developers are going to read that and may be interested in one of the redfor planes, God forbid the MiG-25! Oh no! Come on, take it easy
  8. I’m honestly not trolling anyone here. Being trolled - that’s very likely. I appreciate your input sir! Moving on.
  9. The strategy is, to unite all supporters of the MiG-25, see how everyone can contribute - from a vote to doing something specific, gather what’s available and find what is not classified, and in the meantime see what developer may be willing to pick up the project with its community and all data. If we get a solid mod - that’s great, a certified by ED module - even better, but bottom line, the community support should be visible and acknowledged. We are not asking the ED to make the module unless they will be willing to. Thank you sir! If Vapour Labs team resurrects - fantastic, if not - there are many talented coders and 3D designers. Let’s create some alternatives.
  10. Thank you sir! Please vote Thank you so much! I’ll definitely PM you about this.
  11. This initiative requires a group of dedicated people. We are trying to find them. Big projects very often start small. You are welcome to join, otherwise, thank you for your constructive criticism. There’s an old saying (well known in Russia), “those who want to do work-look for opportunities, those who don’t, "look for excuses”
  12. There are two MiG-25 in Monino aviation museum in Moscow. I’m sure local museum volunteers will be willing to help if it comes to access to the jet for pics and measurements. There are some original manuals on maintenance and practical aerodynamics of the MiG-25 on the Ru internet.
  13. Of course. But we shouldn’t forget that striving for a full fidelity stretches the timeline for years. Some projects never happen because of that. So the solution is to create a module and develop it in beta access. People will buy them knowing that the product is improved continuously. Otherwise we’ll end up getting jewels like MiG-21 or F-14 once every decade. That way is also not very productive for any dev team. Now, to comment myself above - I don’t mean less fidelity, maybe partial fidelity plus modeling the rest using something like CATIA simulation software, reverse engineering the flight model and systems based on what’s already available.
