It's January 11th and this is still broken. WTF THE GAME IS UNPLAYABLE.

I was just puttering around in the shooting range mission and decided to mess with the datalink and practice using the ingress button to slew my shkval (?) to the target, that was working great. The problem came with using the weapons, no matter what I did NOTHING would fire, not even the cannon. Master arm on, training mode off, laser on, ect. I checked and re checked everything, reset everything, nothing. The hud cues for each weapon came on, but nothing would fire. I also noticed something odd with my turn to tgt button, it never lit up even though the ka50 responded to the button press. then to my realization, none of the buttons lit up around it. Either A. I was stuck in some awkard bug B. I don't know what I'm doing C. All of the above...

There are more hardware intensive games/simulations/programs that look better, do more work and runs/scales better with hardware. for instance people have hardware that benchmarks (not just in 3d programs) 75% better then mine in every different situation whom are getting 5 more FPS then me.

Specs: Q6700 @3.33Ghz (4 core) ATI 6850 1gb 8gb ram win7x64 fps 7-16 in the ka50 "Battle" mission I know my system isn't the greatest, and I was trying to figure out what was stressed the most for a possible upgrade when I noticed not one core will go above 50% (they all hover right around there in game), to be sure I used Windows performance monitor to log it, and sure enough it never goes anywhere near 100%. In fact it goes higher when loading in and out of the single player DCS world instance. It fluctuates in game and even goes down to nearly nothing when I shut off the game. As a test I ran prime 95 just to make sure something wasn't going wrong hardware side, and yea...it worked fine, shot up to 100%. Any idea why this is happening? It did this in another game as well but I cant seem to remember the specific game. Any Ideas of what I can do?

I just totally removed and reinstalled FC2 then mapped out the su25 controls and saved profiles, then when I loaded my SU25 joystick profile on too the SU25T it totally removed my ability to map anything to my joystick that the su25T has that the su25 doesn't. IE I cant map any of the stuff related to the 25t sensor package (to the joystick only). I assume it would do the same for any other aircraft, so it seems with my controller combo and fc2 i have to manually make every single aircraft's profile. I should be able to mix and match as long as they use the same commands so the RU fighters shouldn't be that massive of a PITA, but this is still goofy none the less.

This is a Logitech g940 (5.09 software with firmware update) and it is all in game, the only thing i do out of game is lower the sensitivity on x and y axis. what I did was make a profile on the su25 and saved both the stick and throttle profile in game, then loaded it to every aircraft in game and figured i would just move the aircraft specific stuff around as needed. it seems all of the aircraft specific stuff gets locked out, but at the same time its more general (IE the pickle button). the ones i cant map don't have a box there to even click. It acts like its locking me into the su25 profile. On the A-10 i hit the clear category on throttle, pedals, and joystick but I still cannot map the Cut of burst button to my throttle (for a specific reference), but at the same time this let me map the pickle button when i just cleared the joystick in the weapons category. Back before all of this i had to manually (via explorer) delete my modified profiles because i'm dumb and loaded my stick over the key commands on every plane accidentally and needed it to be back to default:doh: EDIT: i should also mention i am aware of the difference in the way the aircraft release weapons (trigger is gun on a10 and it has a separate pickle button but in su25 trigger is the release weapon button as well and cannon must be switched on) so its not that kind of problem :D

In the dcs key editor I seem to get locked out of mapping keys to certain things (stick, throttle, ect.) some how, why is this and how do I get around it? What I mean is I can't select cut of burst to map it to a throttle button. but i can map it all day to the joystick, its like this for just a handfull of things but they are things that would be handy to map (like cob). It also goes both ways (some wont map to stick, some wont map to throttle) also when i loaded my su25 profile to the a-10 i couldn't map my weapon pickle button....why on earth??? because it makes to much sense to make it easy for everything to be the same for every jet besides the obvious differences?? :mad: thanks for any help regarding this issue

And ED leaves them out, Mistakenly I decided to create a base profile for the russian fighters as they all use the SAME key bindings for sensors, weapons, ect. What a massive mistake I made when I assumed the "Save profile" Button would save the entire profile I just created! I made an even bigger mistake when I hit the load profile button and selected my previously created profile and spammed all the Russian fighters to load this supposed profile. Now imagine my grief when I discovered that it only saved the joystick buttons to the profile, not my throttle buttons, the keyboard commands, nothing else, and i magically loaded my joystick buttons over my keyboard commands, so now every jets keyboard commands list is empty except for the few joystick buttons i mapped. I can live with this, I will just default back and re load every jet by hand, yes thats a huge PITA but what is even more of a PITA is the fact that the default key button only works for one single command at a time... so now i have to go through and default every command for every Russian fighter by HAND!??? not even a base profile??? NO MASS DEFAULT KEY? or am i just totally blind and cannot find the default profile? I literally loved ED before this, somehow this put me over the edge. someone please tell me i am missing something so i can eventually play the game again. :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::doh:

How long has it been since a company manned up and created a study sim from scratch, 5 years? longer? I don't know, I can't remember the last one (maybe falcon 4????). I would just like to thank you for bringing back a long lost genre, a genre i grew up with which sparked my interest as a young boy to play computer games, imagine being 12 and having the opportunity to fly "just like the real guys do" having to master an aircraft! This is what playing a "game" is about. anyway i have really missed this type of PC software, thank you to everyone who helped in its creation, from the programmers to the beta testers.
