  1. Here is a screenshot to refresh your memory. The discount was not for a "long wait", but for not being able to pre-order on Steam. Also, this "long wait" you keep talking about was arbitrary, and the fact that they are releasing both modules on Steam this Friday shows that. How can it be that these modules are in a good enough condition to sell to standalone users but not Steam users? That doesn't make sense. Now all the sudden they are in a good enough condition to sell to Steam users but with no discount? C'mon.
  2. The discount wasn't for "a long wait". It was for not being able to pre-order. As a compensation for not being able to pre-order on Steam, ED had said that the new map and Hornet would be discounted initially when it released on Steam. I realize that as of today ED has changed their wording, but it looks really bad to any Steam user who was excited about these modules or any future modules for that matter.
  3. Yeah, but there is a problem with this logic here. Standalone users got a discount for pre-ordering the new map and Hornet, not for waiting longer than Steam users. I don't think there was anything preventing ED from offering that same pre-order and discount to Steam users. They just didn't. Steam users are still getting the modules after standalone, and now they are just making them pay more. Wish I would have known about this whole standalone vs Steam nonsense before I got into DCS World. Really takes away from my excitement about these and future modules.
  4. I don't quite understand. What was the condition of the discount on Steam that no longer exists? Is this just a way of saying that they took away the discount or is there something preventing ED from discounting these mods on Steam initially like ED had they said they were going to? Is it that the discount is being taken away because these modules are releasing earlier than ED had expected them to on Steam, based off of feedback about demand for these modules on Steam? Whatever the case, this is bittersweet news. I was excited to get both modules day one on Steam, but now am unsure. I really hope ED changes their mind about this.
  5. I feel you man, but I am pretty sure we will get the new map on Steam soon enough. It is frustrating though to have purchased modules for DCS on Steam only to find out that the Steam version gets different treatment from ED. Wish I would have known this before hand, and I know others feel the same way. I am pretty certain that Steam would allow ED to put the Persian Gulf map and F/A 18 up for pre-order as well, but for some reason, it seems that the release dates and pre-ordering are exclusive to the standalone version. The only excuse I have heard is that they fear negative reviews on Steam. Doesn't really make sense though as the discussions over on Steam are pretty much "Hey, where is the map? I was looking forward to buying that". Also, treating the Steam version like this only makes people who bought modules from Steam feel like they have missed out, and I am constantly seeing threads of people asking if they can transfer their modules from Steam to standalone. I really hope they get this is order so that us Steam users don't feel so left out.
  6. I would also like to know about the Steam version release. ED didn't specify a different date for Steam so I just assumed it would be the same day. Hope we get it soon. Didn't know about this whole standalone vs Steam nonsense when I bought a couple modules on sale through Steam a couple months back.
