  1. thank you for replying silverdevil. Yes, I did restart. I also did a repair on the C++ file and then another complete repair. Still nothing. I did finally stumble on a workaround. Since the launch screen does appear I noticed on the Settings page that deactivating the Launch Screen was an option. Bingo. No Launch Screen, right to DCS. It's not fixed. I can't use the Launch Screen, but you don't really need it and I have access to the sim again.
  2. the launch screen loads, but when the launch button is pressed DCS closes. (disappears from Task Manager). I rolled back Windows Update (which I had just completed) and did a complete repair of DCS from the Launch Screen. I use Malwarebytes (utilizing permissions) and not Windows Defender. What else can I try? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. This information concerning the work on the cooling system on the Mossie now sheds some light on this problem. Had the Mossie been in development at the time of release of the Spitfire? Thanks, (hope this is soon, my Spit has been sitting in the hanger a long time now)
  4. Thank you very much QuiGon for your help and for putting my mind to rest about the "health" of my installation. Stephen Decatur
  5. I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place but... I recently purchased the new mirage campaign and it appears in my DCS World 2.5 Open Beta installation, but not my DCS World 2.5 installation. According to the module manager I have already purchased it but it does not show as available in the Mirage campaigns. I believe this is because of interference by my antivirus software (since rectified). I ran the DCS World repair from the start menu, thinking this would straighten out the problem, but it did not. Is there anyway I can force a redownload of the campaign? If not, what can I do to make it available in 2.5 (non beta)? Thanks in advance for any help. P.S. Thank you ED (and partners) for such a wonderful sim!
  6. I am having the same issue as Gerrard. I tried updating through the start menu and then restarting my computer then updating again. The updater says my current version (2.5.0 ….) is up to date. I see only one updater in the start menu and it does not mention "beta". Any help would be appreciated. Can't wait to use that map! After looking around some I realized that I had installed "DCS World 2.5" and not the previous "DCS World 2.5 Open Beta". Is this why I can't update beyond 2.5.0.something? If so, is it possible to revert to the beta version? and if so how would I do this? Thanks Steve Decatur
