The fact that it doesn't like my flares and rocket pod skins seems dumb.

Single player works fine, but when I got to play any multiplayer I get this screen to pop up during the connection to a server. This has only happend since I installed 1.0.1. Just played this mission on the ka50.com server. All i have to say is WOW! Bring your friends. If only the server had it running for longer then an hour, we had only cleared out obj car and put a hurting on van. Very nice Kingsnake.

Yeah i thought I saw sombody post that no apaches carry flares.

Here is how doppler was explained to me: You are in a car on a highway, and a set of railroad tracks parallels the street. You are stopped, and a train is coming at you. The first time you hear the horn, its very low. As the train sounds its horn again, it is louder because it is closer. When the train passes you, the horn will get quieter. If you and the train are traveling the same direction and speed, the horn will never sound louder or quieter. The sound is the radar beam. The car and the train are interchangeable, but its the same effect. The train can be stopped and sounding its horn, but as YOU drive closer, the sound changes (louder). You say relative to a stationary earth, do you mean terrain? Is the helo actually on the ground? An extremely slow moving (10kts?) flying extremely low (10 feet)helicopter might escape a simple doppler fire control radar(F-4, Mig 23), but most fighters nowadays have some advances the can distinguish your little helo vs ground clutter. 1. I have currently flown on 2 USAF helos, well, 1 helo and one tilt-rotor. Both have RWR. RWR not being useful is a farce. RWR first tells you azmith to a transmitting radar...very useful. I will put terrain between him and I. 2nd it tells u the radars mode (gives an audible tone equating to search, track, missle guidance). Search = no big deal; track = big deal and chaff is going out. MG and its GTFO and holler for any SEAD asset. The RWR also has a visual representation of the above. Not knowing if a missile is actually inflight, doesn't matter, they locked you up. You have to honor the threat. 2. Having flown training missions vs the F-15C, it will eat your lunch. A. F-4 radar, old and not very advanced. B. F-15 has Look Down, Shoot Down (so ground clutter is not a big deal). I bet the Blackshark Fuselage has a very large radar cross section. No I don't have any discovery channel weblinks, but there are no stealth traits in its design. C Doppler effect. If you are in a hover, if you exclude the blades, that might work for a stationary SAM radar, but fighter aircraft are moving, and there will always be some doppler effect. You can also doo 200kts vs the sam radar, and if you put it in a constant turn that keeps a constant distance, he will most likely lose you. If a fighter is chasing you, I guarantee he will turn off any doppler decluttering. 3. Composite blades do not mean radar obsorbant. 4. Sending non RWR into Georgia. I am believe they would send both RWR helos into Georgia with non-rwr equipped helos. And if I was on one of those non rwr equipped helos, I would be supporting the ground forces, not "deep in enemy lines looking for targets." Leave deep penetration in an IADS or heavy SAM umbrella to the Fast movers. No RWR doen't make it a bus, you just have to be smart about your tactics. Helos vs Strat Sams is dumb (HAWK, Patriot, SM2, SA-2, SA-6, SA-20, etc). They will eat your lunch. They have Home on Helicopter modes. You can manage vs the small, tactial Radar Guided Sams (SA-8, 2s6, Roland, etc). Its all about tactics. If we get an Apache add-on, I just hope the player and developer scenarios are from a relevant time frame. No flares = dumb these days. Back in the A model days with IRCM, vs an Sa-7, you had a chance. Now, as those poor guys have learned in OIF, the more advanced MANPADS can kill apaches pretty easily. So now they have flares. Now they are looking at a better IRCM system. It is definetly a realistic sim. Lets have realistic scenerios.

Simulate the helo lowering a rescue device (forest pen, rescue strop, etc)or in the case of a team infil, lowering a fast rope.

If you have a mutli-core cpu, bs only defaults to one....the affinity tool sets all your cores to run bs. Some servers seem to lock up if you alt tab out, so I rather like this tool.

Its strange, when I play this server, I can't alt+tab to set my affinity. I can get out of the game to set it, but then bs locks up. Happend to my buddy and we have different specs. My specs: Vista 64 on a Core 2 Duo, seems to work on fine on other servers and single-player. It happens in the cockpit or in the select a/c screen.

I use vent or teamspeak, it just depends on which of my friends are online. I did see that one host had you go to their vent server for the game server paswsword. I kinda like that. I think it would benefit you to join a squadron, most have their own voice server, and usually a ton of mates willing to help you out.

Alot of helo pilots will also "pin" the collective by pushing their leg against it. That way if a brake or trim sensor fails, they will feel it move against there leg.

I'm not saying some one hasn't hung a stinger or AIM-9 on the apache. Hell, I have a video of the Isreali's firing an AIM-9 off a H-53. I'm just saying its not adopted. Anywho, I get my new computer this week, can't wait to fly with you all.
