I got a Quest 3 after a short trial period with a Pico 4. IMO the Quest 3 is far better and like others have said you don't need an official USB cable, a £16 one works just fine. I'm perfectly happy with the strap and don't find the face gasket uncomfortable either.

I think the issue is the 'ready to taxi' command comes a long time after you have started up and are ready to go. You then have to wait even longer for your wingman to start.
Can the command be moved forward?

Awesome thanks

I've only played the first few missions but there's a few floating objects at the base. Some troops and barrels are hovering I guess due to the placement of other objects.

I've always thought virtual binoculars would be a good addition.

If you have the file I may be able to make it work. I managed to get the tanker one working when it was supposed to be broken.

I have British wingmen and a female tanker mods that work. The sounds folder needed a little adapting but after I figured out how to do it it works perfectly.
Only problem is can't be changed per aircraft.
Is the French awacs in a French accent or French language?

I have the same issue with my Quest 3. Even with the mic gain turned right up it struggles to recognise my commands.

11700k cpu with 64 gb of ram and a 6800xt gpu.
I know the gpu is getting a bit long in the tooth but it's coped so far.
I think it's a vram issue as its telling me I'm using up to about 150% vram.

I tried this for the first time today and unfortunately it's unplayable. I'm getting around 10 - 15 FPS and then once I've exited the mission they don't return unless I restart DCS completly. Am I doing something wrong or is this an extremly demanding mission?
-
Really nice. Thanks guys.

I don't suppose anyone has or is able to replace the default su27 for the F4 in vr hanger.
It would be an awesome addition.

I've followed your lead and reducing textures to half gives a huge improvement... Of course one would need to fly it and test the feeling for a proper amount of time, but so far it does feels and sees quite ok
How do you reduce the textures?

It's working again for me now. Thank you so much

Since the latest update I can't use my quest 3 anymore.
It first crashed at the splash screen but after checking the box on the openxr app to disable it it now loads.
Problem is it only loads in 2d despite making sure it is enabled on the launcher and on the menu.
I'm using a link cable BTW.
Any ideas?

I didn't know that, thanks!
Me neither! Solved the problem

Same for the undercarriage. In the f14 I'm able to use a 2 position switch on my warthog throttle which works perfectly. On the f4 I have to move the same switch up then down again to get the undercarriage to go up.

Do these files need to be added on every dcs update?

Where's the file?

I was by I couldn't get on with it so I deleted it.

Thanks for the replies. I tried the bit of tape over the sensor but that made no difference. For me it was turbo mode that was causing it.
-
It doesn't always do this but more often than not if I take of my headset DCS will hang and then crash. Is there any way around this?
-
Legend, thank you. All working again.

Arctic thunder winner
in Baltic Dragon

Just wanted to publicly thank Baltic Dragon for the Winwing Phoenix MIP that I won in the draw.
Absolutely thrilled to get it especially as I never seem to win anything.
I've only just got it set how I wanted it which meant changing the position of side mounts to match the real aircraft more closely.
It's an amazing bit of kit, really makes flying the FA18 more lifelike and I hardly have to use the mouse in vr anymore.
Thanks again
