Happy Thanksgiving!!! Working on the inside door of the landing gear. I will show you later on how complicated that will be and the hydraulics that make it work:

I started doing the detail in the landing gear bay, but I don't think that is visible so I stopped. In my Su-17 book I found a good pic of the wing light and what's inside, so I have to redo that part. After that the only thing I will have to do is the pylons and I'm done with the wings. M3 wing had 1 small additional inlet/whole on the wing it seems and 17M had only 2 pylons. Other than that, everything was the same.

I'm glad I I asked about the joystick. It seems it's not as clear as I assumed. What about AXIS Tuning? Do you like to configure the F/A 18 in a specific way?

Sorry for simple questions, but I don't fly that much BLUE or know anything about the Hornet. As or right now what's the best way to setup the Hornet? Do I need a profile for it? Change some defaults? Is Chucks Guide the best for that, or there is a common profile you use? Also, what joystick you guys prefer for that aircraft? He wants Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Joystick For PC with the Hornet Add on, but that's expensive. Do you guys like any other alternative? Like X56 H.O.T.A.S. RGB THROTTLE AND STICK CONTROLLER maybe? He is using VR.

Some more wing work (talk about a complicated wing) I really enjoy working on flat parts. So much easier. Can't wait to to the pylons and stuff.

Oh ok, good information. Thanks. I will read up on that when I get there. For one I only do 1 thing at the time. I just want to finish this 3d model (external), then do cockpit. I'm not sure if you read my entire thread, I am brand new to 3d modeling, so this is only a concept.

I have seen the Black Screen bug when joining multi player servers posted all over, but without a solution it seems. Today it happened to me and I figured out the cause. In my C:\Users\aw33com\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft folder I had 2 custom mods. Some servers seem to check for that and provide Black Screen when you have custom mods. Removing the mods fixes it. I noticed some people were throwing the entire Saved Games folder away and starting from scratch. This is probably not required as custom mods are the problem. My guess is some servers don't want you to use anything custom and they check for that, not understanding custom mods in that folder do not affect anything. Hope it helps.

Yeah, Su-7, Su-17, Su-17M2, Su-17UM (trainer) would be natural to develop from what I have. My approach is kind of in reverse, from the most difficult, most developed Su-17 downwards. If I will ever be happy with this one, I will consider Su-7 for sure.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, the wing is not that bad actually once you divide it into parts. I was just tired the other day and it seemed like the wing is lots of work, but it should not be that bad. I did the sweeping part of the wing, but I don't have a good picture what is inside the light:

Just went through all the pictures for the wings. Yeah, it won't be done this week, it's much more complicated than I thought. Tons of parts there. The landing gear openings and stuff there alone is a lot. Flanges, flaps, lights, scoops, guards, sweep moving parts, sweep flanges, vanes. I don't even know where to start.

The work on wings:

Well to be honest, I don't have much more than what I'm showing you. I'm working on the wings now. It should be done this week. So this week we will have the whole thing except: canopy, pylons, and landing gear. The only good news is: I came up with an idea for the module that would make everyone happy I think. It would be difficult to pull off, but not impossible. This airplane had a loooong rich history and he was used in many different ways. I would love to capture that history. Make no mistake this was the Warthog of the East.

Finally moved on to items different than fuselage. I actually enjoy doing flatter parts. It's fun. Took about 2 hours to do horizontal stabilizers. I am working only part time for now, but once I do the external model I will do the cockpits full time and it should come in much faster. More pics from stabilizers

So busy there on the belly of 17M. Looks like the shorter nose of the 17M made it hard to hide the front gear.

Went back and finished the 17-M nose. It's a bit different:

Su-17M - this one is still missing few small changes to landing gear front doors and a tail probe needs to be moved. Landing/Taxi light needs to be added.
