Hello Fellow A-10 Pilots,
I know that Mission 3 has created headaches for a number of people. I'm pretty sure I've fixed the problem(s) and I've decided to offer it gratis for download via Google Drive at:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/muyn8m3hpmgka4s/AAD5nZRvn8qBW8ACK_7CxgE3a?dl=0
I've included the A-10C and A-10C II Tank Killer versions so everyone can fly it.
Download one of the .miz files and place it in your \Users\Your_Name\Saved Games\DCS\Missions folder.
Then, start DCS World, select Missions and then start the mission.
PLEAE let me know if you have any problems with it.
Yours,
John

Yes, this has been a problem since the release and has been corrected but just waiting for ED to upload the new version.

I'd like to see a section where we can either:
1. Write random notes about each mission (I know we can do it in a .doc file but it would be more convenient to add it within the mission itself, and/or
2. A place to list all the Flags as a quick(er) reference tool.

No, I don't think you can. E.D. actually "seals" the campaign with encryption so that they can't be tampered or pirated which (to the developers) is one of the benefits of offering the games through E.D.'s eShop versus going it alone on a personal website.
What do you want to change? I offer the pilot the ability to change aircraft loadout prior to takeoff without any recourse.
-
Several people reported to me that they didn't have the Doc folders in their downloads so I'm making them available as needed.

To All Agile Spear Aircrew,
If you need them, the campaign documentation is now available in the User Files section of DCS World at:
https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322224/
However, the installation instructions SHOULD state to install them to:
Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\campaigns\Agile Spear\
Ultimately, it doesn't really matter where you put them as long as you can get to them when you need them.
Thanks again and I hope you are challenged and have fun flying the campaign,
John

Thank you, Yurgon.
QuoteAs having encountered issues with this product, I will be patient and wait to play it through when it seems more stable in the future.
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and am grateful you've taken the opportunity to try this product. I am working as quickly as possible to correct these problems as they are made known.
QuoteThough, I must ask how you reasoned when you decided to release this campaign bound to a specific version of DCS that isn't stable yet?
To reiterate what Yurgon stated above, the campaign was "stable" when it was released to ED back in December and has been waiting in the queue since then and, as you may be aware, there have several updates to DCS World since that time which, more times than not, create conflicts with the Triggers and Zones and Flags which drive gameplay.
QuoteAnd why was it so important to rush it out and not test it thoroughly?
Again, the campaign was very thoroughly tested back in November and December and not released until we felt it was ready to go live. Coincidentally, I was just given a list of discrepancies yesterday from a tester, though minor, which would have made this release much less painful for everyone involved had it been made available to me prior to the campaigns release last week.
In any event, I will fix these problems as quickly as possible and thank you for your continued support.

Thanks Yann.

Fixed - I think...

Wow, Thank you VERY much. You don't know how much I appreciate your support. Yes, apparently there are a few problems but I'm getting them worked out one by one. I truly hope you have fun with the campaign. I wanted to make it challenging but mostly fun to play.
My best,
John

Roger that. Thanks for the input.

- Mission 1, on the route in, listening to a conversation about some chicks wedding and her fiance' problems instead of a conversation more relevant
Point taken but I was attempting to mimic a long duration flight and the things that aircrew talk about to stay awake/sane. I was also trying to add perspective to some of the hardships which we have to deal which with deployments/frequent TDY's but point taken.
Quote- Not including PDF briefings. I prefer to use a second monitor rather then have 1/5th of the screen taken by a 2 dimensional rectangle. Considering also that it is a knee board which you would (realistically) move your head to view.
Again, point taken and I get it but when I first started playing DCS I went through a couple of campaigns before I became aware of the Doc files and the supporting documentation so I was trying to make the extra info available from the cockpit without having to stop the game. I usually only use one monitor (laptop) and I am guessing many other players do as well.
In any event, I'll rethink this in the future.
One other thing, apparently the Doc folder is missing and wasn't included in the download. I went to ALOT of trouble creating those documents and am REALLY disappointed in ED for not including them in the download for whatever reason.
In any event, I uploaded the documents to the User Files section of the website and should be available for download soon. I'll let everyone know when they are available for download.
Quote- information on 20+ airports in each knee board and pages of information how to use your weapons in each knee board briefing. It would be way better to have all that extra stuff in a single PDF and save having to scroll through a 40 - 50 pages of knee board info.
The airport info isn't me. That's DCS world and I have no control over that. It's added automatically per map you are flying.
Quote- some of the briefing photos of targets (mission 3) do not show north direction and really do not show much information except a pretty picture of the unit itself, making them basically a postcard. All targets surround the airfields so its not much of an issue. Something to keep in mind though.
Other than not having the North marked I thought the intel photos were pretty realistic and about as lifelike as any Intel briefing I've sat in. I'm not sure what more you would want. I think anything more would eliminate any spontaneity in the game and make it more spoon-fed. War sucks and more times than not a sortie will get diverted with NO intel support and no hard data other than call signs and frequencies.
QuoteAlthough I am stuck on mission 3, I have still enjoyed doing the missions so far and I'm sure I will enjoy the rest once you patch it up as you have mentioned in another post. I hope you continue to make more content.
Skip Mission 3. It's a mess and I'm working on it right now. When it's ready I'll notify everyone and make it available for download.
Thank you VERY much for taking the time to provide the valuable inputs. I REALLY appreciate the effort.

I just uploaded the files to User Files section but they apparently have to be reviewed by a Moderator first. I don't know how long that will take.
Thanks Yann, I've already changed them.
I stand corrected on the location. I thought it was in Saved Games. Thanks again.

Oh and BTW @King39 the Agile Spear – Campaign Description.pdf lists the Syria terrain as a requirement, but the campaign takes place in the free Caucasus map; I think someone mentioned that already, but just in case I wanted to mention it again.
Thanks Yann, I've already changed them.

Hello Everyone,
I'm cross-posting this from the Operation Agile Spear sub-forum:
I just wanted to let everyone know that I've seen a number of issues which have developed since I posted the campaign for upload to the eShop four months ago and I will be actively troubleshooting and testing to correct these problems.
I ask for your patience and that you bear with me as it will take a week or two to go through all 16 missions in the campaign and correct the problems and then re-submit for upload to the eShop.
Thanks again for your patience,
John

Thanks
Yeah. Go ahead and try that. If it doesn't work, let me know and I'll post all the documents on the downloads section and let you know.
Sorry about that. I have no idea how that would have happened.

I have killed everything that I can see in this mission and there is no option to call in "hammer" and "mace". Anything remotely near any of the waypoints is dead.
Yeah, I see the problem and I'm fixing it now. Thanks for your input. The campaign was sitting for four months waiting to be uploaded to the e-Shop so all the updates have unfortunately created problems with triggers, etc. My apologies for the problems.
The changes will be uploaded today and I'll notify ED of the changes.
Thanks again.

Hi,
I hear and value your inputs but really need some specifics before I know how and what changes need to be made.
Specifically, what do you like? What do you dislike? What would you change?
QuoteThat campaign definitely needs a lot more work to be at the level it should be.
Really doesn't give me much to go on.

Er, actually, the AI wingman doesn't actually go into trail when given the instruction, it remains stubbornly off my wing until I'm on final.
I know, I know. I don't know what else to do to get her to follow simple directions. She's been a problem child since she arrived in the unit. I'll talk to her when we brief next flight...

Also check mission 3. There were some units stuck in the fence at Senaki. It was Sa-9 If i remember well.
Found it. Fixed. Thank you.

I see what you're saying. This must have been an earlier version of Mission 3 and must have slipped through one of the early QC checks.
My current copy shows the correct files in Mission 3 which is why I didn't see it.
So, to answer your question, it's already been corrected and will be updated when ED allows me to update the campaign.
I apologize for this oversight. Thanks for your input.

very little work on documentations, well below what is being done.
I'm sorry you feel this way. We created the documentation which we felt was everything you would need to complete the mission. The Flightplans, Datasheet, and target images are similar to what aircrew are actually briefed on.
What else are you looking for in the way of documentation?
QuoteFor dialogues it looks like siri.
Again, I am sorry you feel this way. There are over 1400 scripted lines which were read by professional voice actors. Have you actually played the campaign yet?
Quoteis not worth the price when compared to other campaigns that are being done.
I am disappointed that you aren't happy with this product. I took four months to develop and another four months to edit. We put ALOT of effort into it.

Already sort of reported, but just to reiterate, I could not get the AI wingman to respond on 251.000 or ATC to respond on 133.00. Just silence after making my calls, but landing still allowed the mission to proceed
I apologize for not responding sooner as I didn't see your post until just now. I'm not sure what you want the Wingman to respond too. She acknowledges your order to go Trail and then you are prompted to order her to go Trail.
Also, the ATC call is via the F10 Menu system in DCS World. I have no control over that. The Kobuleti ATC should be responding to your call for Inbound. I just tried the mission and the ATC responded appropriately for me.
On 5/1/2022 at 9:01 AM, CH4Pz said:Exact same issue, no radios at all in mission 1. tried atc on the suggested 289.5 (or what ever freq it suggests) and also tried on 133, wingman never replied on all 3 freqs either
Again, I'm sorry for not responding earlier. The ATC calls are via the F10 Menu and are a product of DCS World and I have no control over that. I will submit this to ED and see what they say.
Thanks for your input. We appreciate it.

Hello Fellow A-10 Pilots,

I've included the A-10C and A-10C II Tank Killer versions so everyone can fly it.
Download one of the .miz files and place it in your \Users\Your_Name\Saved Games\DCS\Missions folder.
Then, start DCS World, select Missions and then start the mission.
PLEASE let me know if you have any problems with it.
And, you may want to stay tuned for the further adventures of Lt. Col. Took" Key (he's been promoted) and the fight against ISIL in Syria.

ALSO...
I also wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that I've uploaded free TrackIR 5 Mount files for 3D printing. If you've ever lost the base for Track IR you'll know what I'm talking about. They want, I think, $25.00 USD for a replacement if you can find one. Well, I've designed one and uploaded it to DCS User Files and is free to a good home. It's my thanks to all of you who've taken a chance with Agile Spear:
