  1. Keep in mind that early missiles were very unreliable in terms of hit probability. Also, like AeriaGloria said, you have to be very close to thethe target. Despite its radar guidance, the R-3R is still a short range missile.
  2. Hello all! I know this is a rather strange question to ask, but does any of you know where to find a document, or something, where I can find the ATC/AWACS/flight etc comms in russian? Or could someone transcribe them? I don't speak russian myself, but I'm learning and I think having like, a cyrillic version of them could be very useful to understand them.
  3. Openbeta update and nothing about the MiG-21...I want to think it's because they are working on a new set of sounds instead of reverting to the old ones...
  4. Just range, you would have to properly lead the target yourself then?
  5. Which units operated the MiG-21 in the Caucasus region during, say, the 70s? I keep searching but I cannot find any information about them, or even get a general overview of the units in the area
  6. I thought the sight was gyro-only and didn't use any radar inputs?
  7. Okay, that makes sense. Thanks!
  8. Sorry for reviving an old thread, but is the SPS system turned on by default, or it has to be turned on? Also, in the MiG-21 the tips we get when hovering over a switch usually list the positions of the switch, if it says "Off/On" does that mean that Off is the UP position?
  9. Nice to hear, keep it up guys!
  10. Most of the comments I've seen here aren't that negative. Some are more negative than others, but it isn't as bad as it could have been. I'd say most of these are just constructive criticism
  11. Had the chance to jump into a couple of servers today, mostly for comfy flying and ocassional A2G. Have to agree, the new sounds are kind of a step back. I prefered the old roaring of the engines. But as bkthunder said, this may be a good signal. I'm also happy to see work being done as this one is between the oldest modules and it's always good to see that it hasn't been abandoned.
  12. Yes please, post them! Or at least give a quick rundown!
  13. It may be a bug, yes, because the one that I experienced disappeared over time. If it turns out to not be a bug...then I'm afraid I cannot help you
  14. I didn't experience this honestly. Have you filled a bug report?
  15. Been flying this weekend and I got to say, I did encounter this, but is not the general rule, so to say. The plane still flies stably or with very minor booping. I think it's something that will eventually disappear if the system is engaged long enough.
  16. This thread made me cum a little, looking forward to the fixes and some more sweet lightning. Also by the way, which manuals are you guys talking about? Original russian ones or something?
  17. Is this how it's modelled in-game? What's the SFC for the second stage AB?
  18. Hi guys, what is the thrust rating for the MiG-21bis secondary afterburner? I compared the thrust figures for the R25-300 in the manual and Yefim Gordon's MiG-21 book, and saw some discrepancies, although they are small ones. The thrust in the book is separated in mil power, take-off (which I assume is First Afterburner) and contingency mode. For contingency, 2 wildly different figures are given. One of them, 7100 kgf, is close to the afterburner figure we see in our manual (~7200 kgf after conversion). The other figure is 9500 kgf. Now, is the afterburner figure in the manual given for the second afterburner or for the first one? In any case, which source is used in the manual for these technical specs? Thanks for any help, ResonantCard1
