Hi. I am trying to DL the Lock On demo (and if I like it the full game) from the Lock On website but I get an error that says the certificate is expired and belongs to another website? I know its old but I have been watching some videos of lock on / flaming cliffs and I think I might like this. Thanks RB

Sometimes if you pause the game for a couple of seconds the sound will get back to normal - hitting an exterior view and then back into the cockpit can do the same thing. These have worked for me but only temporarily. BTW - your second link says its a malformed video. RB

I have also been running Win7 / XP multiboot without many problems. Some of the symptoms you describe are similar to what I had before updating my video drivers on the Win7 OS (I had to reformat my HDD twice when trying to get the video drivers to run properly though). RB

Exactly. What else can you possibly compare this to? I think for the little time involved in this review it is a decent score. It scores much higher in my mind however - but this my own subjective review. RB

If I remember correcty wasn't Apache or whatever it was $80 when it came out? That was a ton of money back then. RB

On my keyboard I use the "o" key to uncage the shkval then the ; . , / keys to slew the shkval onto a target and the "enter" key to lock. Has worked for me anyway RB

- Newest 8800 Ultra drivers installed - DX11 installed - Black Shark installed and running = Frames with XP were about 25-35 max = Frames with Win 7 and setting affinity to all cores are no less than 35 ever and I saw 71 frames several times. The only thing I did notice is the occasional stutter that I didn't have with XP but I can live with it. RB

I got mine running in multiboot finally. I am running all other games under XP and Black Shark will be run under Windows 7 (once I get all my drivers dl and installed). Here are some minor tips on what I did for multiboot. - I installed a third HDD dedicated to Win7 (I have a HDD dedicated to XP and one dedicated to backup files). - Win7 installed onto the third HDD - Win7 wouldn't recognize that XP existed and therefore wouldnt give me the option of multiboot so I dl and installed EasyBCD. I ran it as per the instructions and now I have multiboot (I can run XP or Win7 at startup - which ever I chose). - dl and installed Kaspersky Technical Preview for Microsoft Windows 7 - DO NOT install AVG Free - it is not compatible with Win7 yet. I did, and it installed, but it wouldn't run, so I tried to uninstall and it would not uninstall without going to BSOD EVERY TIME. 4 times of booting in safe mode finally got rid of AVG. - I am just working on drivers for my Ultra and will update once I get it running. MOOSE - did you notice a difference with DX10? RB

I just installed a new HDD and installed Win7 on it - now my computer does not recognize the other operating system. On my XP system my system drive is C, optical drive is D, backup HDD is E and I installed the new HDD as F. I installed Win 7 on F Custom Install as per the instructions. When installation completes it boots straight to Win7. No option for multiboot. When I look at the file system it shows that Win 7 system is on C, my XP system in on D and the optical drive on E - my backup drive is not even recognized. In manage drives it shows all the drives - I know this isn't a windows support forum but if anyone can provide any ideas. If I uninstall Win7 and try again is my XP going to be intact? Thanks RB

Can I install Win7 in a dual boot config while still maintaining the integrity of my current XP installation? EDIT - I have 2 HDD, neither of them currently have a partition. Thanks RB

Thanks Slayer. I am starting to come to that sad realization. I am contemplating running Win7 on my gaming machine but there are issues with it and punkbuster. On a side note - yesterday I was playing with the affinity in XP and I set BS to run on core 1, 2, and 3 (I left core 0 blank). My frames went from 25-30 (max) up to 45 (max) BUT it wasn't consistent because when I did the same thing later on in the same mission my frames were back down to 25. RB

I started BS and then opened task manager. I enabled all 4 cores but there was no difference in frames either way. (Win XP) I have Win7 running on a backup computer. I am starting to get the urge to run it on my main comp. RB

Perhaps something that will be in a future upgrade ..... :thumbup: maybe, hopefully. Along with an Apache. RB

You used an entire toner to print the manual - or it was already getting low? That is a lot of toner if it used the entire toner cartridge. RB

Well, $8.00 for 500 pages of paper and some toner - I think I will recover from the financial strain. So what is in the new content? Is it available right NOW so I can use it? Are they GIVING us a free copy of the printed manual? I doubt the printed manual will be free and I strongly doubt it will be very cheap - certainly not as cheap as printing it myself. RB

Now why would they include things in the printed manual that are not in the pdf manuals? I am assuming that they are either; a) giving everyone a free printed manual (I know this is not likely to happen - just making a point) b) updating the pdf files to include the content so we can download them. RB

Well said Soup. I haven't been here long but I am not impressed with how this guy is being treated - nor can I believe mods aren't locking this and contacting him by PM to deal with it. Someone said grow up - I agree but not to whom it was originally directed. Come on mods - put one on this thread already RB
