Ryzen 9950X or 9950X3D?
Templar560 replied to Templar560's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
As an update I got the 9950X3D. Everything is running fine so far. I increased the pizel density up to 1.3 from 1.0 in my Quest 3. I got 36 fps but there were no stutters and it was extremely smooth and looked amazing. I may give process lasso a go anyway just for a laugh and see if it affects the fps. -
Ryzen 9950X or 9950X3D?

Well thanks guys, I ended up going with the 99503XD as it will be a huge boost compared to my Ryzen 5. Loads of people said DCS runs fine and can decide which cores to use. As This is to futre proof things somewhat and also to make it Pimax Crystal Super ready, I think hopefully it will be the one to go for. I found a youtube vid on a big deep dive and it came out on top in every test. I'm sure there's good tutorials on Process Lasso if I need it and as someone said above, you can disable the function of it and stick it in Gaming Mode which will probably be fine. I do video editing and making for my team I'm in and sometimes I need multiple processes going on for that. So I rolled the dicve and we can see what happens! Thanks for all your input! -

Ok cool. I asked around on the ED discord and seemingly DCS tends to look afteritself pretty well. I'm going to try and change my order.... Thanks so much for the advice man! -
Ryzen 9950X or 9950X3D?
Templar560 replied to Templar560's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Oh I see that makes perfect sense thank you! I don't use MS gamebar. So the big question I face is: Do I cancel very quickly the 9950X I've ordered and grab the 9950X3D? -
Ryzen 9950X or 9950X3D?
Templar560 replied to Templar560's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks for the reply, I don't what game bar or CCD is though. I have no idea how I'd know how to make DCS use the right 3dvcache.... I've never gone down that particular rebbit hole.. -
Hi I've just ordered a 9950X Ryzen 9 for DCS I've seen mixed reports about X3D causing problems. I Currently have a Ryzen 7 5000 series so either will be a big boost. but that's not the issue. It's which of these will be the best as the price difference isn't enough to stop either. Info welcome thanks!

Indeed Bull, but the activity on this thread and the views it's had should probably show them there's an issue!
-
I think this is now fiixed in today's update.
-
The one where in multplayer you put your gear up but for everyone outside it's still down. If it's just visual that's fine but if not and the gear is down when it says it's up would induce drag causing the aircraft to not fly as fast. There's a thread on it in this forum.
-
rgr. Also do you think the gear bug could be a factor?
-
Other players´s landing gear not retracting in multiplayer
Templar560 replied to Turbonix's topic in Bugs and Problems
We've found this problem too. I wondered if the gear is actually up or down? If it's shown as up but is in fact down could that be causing drag problems? -
Every time I tried putting the mixture to rich the engine just cut out. on the ground and in the air.
-
Cool I shall give it a try! Thanks!
-
Yeah. tbh I never got into what it was. I can't bind that prop lever to anything anyway, but maybe it does if you turn into a slider. I've got some sliders on one of my peripherals that i use in the Hornet and use for Prop levers in the Mosquito.
-
Thanks for the engagement chaps it's all very useful, and goes to show the huge discrepancies going on with this aircraft. The slider thing for the prop lever is interesting and I will certainly give it a go! And yes mentioning heights these are being tested at would be useful I think.
-
I think we were in trim yeah, tricky though that is.
-
UPDATE: Just had another flight with my friend and for control purposes we had exactlly the same controls set at the same heights on the same server. He was getting 120kts in the climb at 1000ft per min I was getting 180. We climbed to 20,000 it didn't fly above 210kts Auto rich Mixture, full blower, no cowl. 2,500rpm on the prop. we both stabilised at ~210kts.
-
That's interest cheers, but there does seem to be quite a lot of varying info out there! I managed to get about 227 running prop 2,500 rpm Cowl open about 15% Oil and intercooler closed with the mixture lever half way down. I tried the blower but I kept getting a hot carb warning.
-
That's interesting as we were only getting 180. What settings were you flying with?
-
Kovacs thanks let me know!
-
The knots versus mph isn't relevant to this issue but yes good to know.
-
I've been flying with some friends and there seems to be strange power issues going. In a hot start aircraft nd in a cold start we weren't getting more than 170mph. In the instant action free flight the Corsair is doing 260 mph. Nothing we did in multiplayer seemed to help us speed up. Not seen any other mention of this so maybe it's something we've collectively done/not done?
-
Yes three of us have experienced this.
-
Hi ok cool thanks for checking that out I will try it for sure! I have other problems when I've used groups for example, that still RTB. But I will definitely try and remember and learn all this!
