  1. Yes it can be used with mouse as well - but remember that the profile discussed in this thread is optimised for a 1024x768. TouchBuddy does include scaling functionality, but the results might not be optimal. So you might have some challenges getting everything to work smoothly and prettily on 1600x1200 resolution.
  2. SG, can you please try to explain to not-so-technically-adapt person, what would be the consequence of the "front bezel" not fitting after the touchscreen mod? OK, to start with: what IS front bezel? Ehem.
  3. Yes the correct key kombination is LALT-C. Seems that I needed to click this twice: first time I did LALT-C, the mouse pointer (+) disappeared, second time I did it, it reappeared again, and now the mouse pointing started to work together with TrackIR, without the "jerky" graphics. So it seems to be because of this bug Boulund described. I need to do this trick every time I get the jerky graphics, however I can live with it now that I know what to do. I do hope the bug will be fixed in the batch, though. Thanks for the help, Boulund! Everything seems to work smoothly now.
  4. Hmm, I'm just thinking, what about the customs issue: if eBay says they come from Ireland (which would be OK since I don't need to pay customs from Ireland to Finland), but they are shipped instead direct from Hong Kong, I need to pay extra for the customs? Seems like this "Ireland" is a bit misleading there. Anyway, as I have time, but less money :) I will probably set up an eBay account and start beating down the bidding path. Any hints, or is this pretty straightforward? I haven't been using eBay. EDIT: aside to SinandGrin: I've found at least one difference in the offers for the 19'' touchscreen overlays, in that one particular brand does not seem to offer Vista drivers along the product. Now I don't know if this really is the case, but you can never be too careful!
  5. As I already have a second 19'' 5:4 (1280+1024) monitor standing on my desk, which I use for Black Shark, and not much extra money :) I think best option for me would be to buy one of those 19'' touchscreen conversion kits. DD, you mentioned you have bought one from eBay Hong Kong? Did you have any problems with it? I live in Finland, so I guess postage to here is about the same as to UK. Problem is the eBay items like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/19-Touch-Panel-Screen-Kit-PC-Desktop-Monitor-Display_W0QQitemZ180333886677QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_ComputerComponents_Monitors?hash=item180333886677&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1690|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 don't seem to tell whether they are 16:9 or 5:4 layouts (I THINK I need 5:4?). EDIT: seems to be hard to find non-widescreen 19'' touchscreen conversion kits from eBay that ship to Europe in general...?
  6. Oh, I didn't know about that bug - I certainly have not enabled mouse look by myself (obviously, because I'm using TIR for that), I always have the yellow crosshair showing, so it could be the bug showing. I'll try out that CTRL-C trick tonight. Thanks for the tip.
  7. I have a Vista32 and a 1920x1200 monitor, and I am also using TrackIR3 to view around the cockpit. The BS graphics are beautiful and everything is running smoothly, but I do have one very annoying problem: Sometimes when I start moving my mouse around the virtual cockpit to click on things, I get horribly "jerky" graphics. I mean the screen just starts this horrible shaking effect, and in result, I can't click on anything, since I can't point my mouse to the right direction. Whenever I stop my mouse movement, it stops and I can once again smoothly look around in my cockpit with my TIR. This does not happen all the time, also sometimes after I fly for a while the problem disappears (but not always). I feel that this could be some sort of "display sync" problem...anyone have a clue as to what I should be looking at? (My screen is running on its native resolution in DCS:BS at the moment.)
  8. My thoughts exactly. Seems like the trimming hassle will now be solved, and in a way which will suite everyone. What I'm looking especially is are the issues with multimonitor usage in Multiplay going to be solved? I'd like to be able to have Multiplay sessions with my SHVAL+ABRIS on the second monitor.
  9. Phew. I read through all 42 pages of this discussion, and can't thank you guys enough of the deep knowledge hidden in it. It seems my understanding of the BS trim system, both in real life and in the sim, got way better. As a result, and with lots of practise, my flying has also improved a lot. It seems that the rudder trim discussion also solved one of the mysteries I've had: the sudden situation (usually when I'm busy in combat) of rudder being trimmed to its end, which lead to crazy things happening, even crashes. Nowadays I trim rudder to neutral (with CTRL-ENTER) every chance I get - but that of course is not the way we should be forced to do! I believe the consensus in this thread is that the rudder trim should definitely be made as an option in the game. So my question is: how could we affect the DCS guys such that they will implement this (easy option!) in the patch that I hope will be coming? EDIT: excuse me for my ignorance, I just noticed that there is a patch 1.0.1 discussion, where the issue is being discussed...
  10. Yes that's correct. However, I can work around that problem by not initiating TrackIR before, and using the TIR button in your tool to start it instead. Then everything works just fine.
  11. Hello, I have Windows Vista 32 with Q6600, and Jesse's Affinity Tool detects all of my cores alright. But I have a problem with my TIR3: it is working fine in the game when used without the affinity tool. But when using the newest 2.1.1 version of the tool, the third button from the top "TrackIR" is greyed out and TIR is not working at all, although TIR SW is up and running. Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong here? Thanks for your help in advance.
