  1. The hope now is that someone else with the subject stick misbehavior might stumble upon the happenstance (luck) solution I did. I'd installed a few *3rd-party aircraft prior to the subject update, started to push the capacity on my boot/DCS SSD space, and when sacrifice time came, I noticed a much much better stick condition......... however there does seem to persist a harsh increase/decrease in collective with minute movements........ really wish I could get it back to the nice long, shallow curve that made takeoff just about perfectly manageable. Collective slider behaves much better at a pretty good forward speed, but at least it's not causing the Apache to do the horizontal tornado dance I believe it was the F-22, F-15E (not DCS of course), Gripen, and M2000 I laid to rest and sanity was restored.
  2. Same here........ what I'm most often inclined to do, perhaps a habit from some other sim is to release stick and hope things might stabilize, which often enough is good enough to restore sanity, unless rotor disc did a faceplant on ground. Trigger your avatar is hilarious....... reminds me of my late silver tabby's "madcap mad-cat snarly-face". Love me some cats.
  3. Thanks for the clarification on trim types and how-to......... flying around today I was thinking about how to teach somebody how to set trim with Instant Trimmer... When I've got a good stable cruise going, I tap "T". Currently trying Center Stick Trim and it's quite different...... as in I'll "stick" to Instant Trimmer....... yeah, pun intended. I am badgered by something from several years ago in which trim settings were "cumulative". Just wondering if that's still a thing and perhaps the issue in Dejmos' case.
  4. FIRST, and this is due to a slightly feeble cerebral performance issue, the forum interface seems to be missing an individual message reply option. Is something like @(username) proper? Now, on topic, @Emme provided a detailed and somewhat surprising account of dealing with the suddenly aggressive rolling issue........ I don't have pedals (yet); I understand your settings and the inversion of one side but I don't see a way to translate them to the Extreme 3D Pro twist handle for rudder. @Floyd1212I'll concur on the controls; it's likely there's fatigue at this point. First to go, famously, on this model Logitech is that twist handle. Easy to abuse when trying to yaw your way out of a situation. And thanks for the attention to what I will now pay more attention, like the slip ball's position and its indications. If I could just find a way to emulate gravity for the cues it'd give, huh?
  5. Thanks to all for the generous consideration ......... I see others have noticed something different about the behavior of the collective. Perhaps the track file attached will help. Note that any % values referring to collective are rough percentage of the throw length of the slider on my stick, not the torque of the engine/rotors. Prior to the update, the collective from 0 to the point where torque would spin heli clockwise was quite linear. I'd made a long, shallow curve that gave me plenty of fine-tuning without any "grabbing" until about 75%. Reduced Y saturation can be quite helpful. After update, as we might see in track file, aircraft would roll hard right. I'd reduce collective, try countering the force with stick to left, and no dice. It's like a Bactrian camel.... two humps!! Now the question is more like: "should there be any point between 0 collective and 50% collective that would force a hard roll to right?" AH-64D_Roll_Problems.trk
  6. I've seen a bit of discussion about Apache flipping to one side or other but it seemed that pertained to takeoff. Since most recent update of early May 2023, my collective and roll seem to have changed in terms of effect but during flight; it's as if it rolls to one side and so quickly you can't be at all graceful with the counteraction. Prior to the update I'd enjoyed what I'd considered "optimal" curves and axis tuning. Since the update it seems adjustments to those parameters do little to nothing. I've also had no luck finding the most recent change log, hoping I could have answered this with a look at the tasks completed. Thanks much in advance for any info!!
  7. Many thanks to you all for the very generous enrichment @NeedzWD40 - much more clear now! I'm sheepishly unsure of the term "terminal"............."LOAL will allow you to only lase in terminal"........... I'll assume "terminal" is the last phase of weapon's flight/trajectory? @placsea - a RADAR Hellfire variant has been a recent addition to my wish list. I've been pondering, more specifically why it hasn't been an option all along. quite happy to hear it's coming. it is precisely "fire n forget" I've hoped for. I often find George hesitating to take the shot even with a clear LOS. I assume this RADAR release comes as part of "FCR"? I'm familiar with that only in the context of F-16 "by others". If so..... I see some serious learning curve ahead.
  8. I hope this isn't a tired old inquiry........ some questions can be awful difficult to word. When I'm in pilot's seat commanding George to scan and spot targets from distances that result in long flight times for the Hellfires, is it necessary to wait until "good effects" or "target destroyed" before repeating for next target scan and spot? Is the Hellfire at all autonomous after a certain amount of time; can or does it, like a laser guided bomb does, take over lasing for the length of time you set it for, like I set lase time for 12 seconds on a GBU-x weapon in the A-10C? thanks in advance, gurus nicest bunch of brutal aviators ever.
  9. giullep, the consensus here appears to be, in the nutshell version, that the more hands-off stable you can trim to in the pilot seat, the better chance of being in sync and virtually no chaos when you switch seats to CP/G. Just assure your vertical motion is in the positive when you switch from pilot to gunner....... the arrowhead on IHADSS altimeter should be slightly above middle bar on that scale; when switching seats, there's nothing that would force the heli into falling just because you switched seats. This issue has tormented me until yesterday. Hope my idea has some logic and benefit to it
  10. Many thanks, AdrianL. The paths to and names of those files much appreciated. Looking further in to Data/scripts I'm seeing some lights coming on
  11. I've always appreciated the Encyclopedia, often accessed from Mission Editor, but notice voids from time to time. Is there a way to fill the voids, by editing files and without being an actual programmer? I aced "Structured Program Design and Logic" in college but haven't yet pursued a specific language. The data would of course be submitted to ED for consideration and sources provided. Obviously there are much higher priorities, but if it's a case of a .lua file to peruse I'd be quite interested. thanks in advance for any info!
  12. Hello dmatt76....... I've just looked at the link you gave above....... looks excellent. Also, the verbal content is impressively free of spelling errors........ if you get a second and it's easy fix, correct "Begginer" to "Beginner" You may hear again the results of proofreading (a terrible compulsion for me), I'm also compelled to help anyone with "native speaker" concerns. Can be a sly way to learn other languages, too Just letting you know while in progress it's going well. I need as much such material on the Apache as I can find as it is.
  13. badatthis I have mapped my ` key to afterburner switch-on......... it's the unshifted "~" key above TAB key, and of course you can choose any unassigned key to bind. On carrier takeoff, for example, I tap that key while pushing throttle to maximum before catapult engages.
  14. TheoBouw64 if nothing else I learned some important stuff prior to my pending purchase of a TrackIR.......... I've always wanted to fly the formation missions and am finding out the TrackIR is absolutely essential for that alone. Given your physical challenges, I wish to share a suggestion you might consider....... ever tried acupuncture? My father suffered a number of strokes, severely compromising his career as a jazz bassist. Acupuncture nearly completely reversed the damage; he was blessed with full recovery, from pain and numbness in arms and hands to the timing between brain and hands. I myself have experienced incredible therapeutic effects of acupuncture on serious nervous system issues. It's certainly worth a try. Best wishes to you from Chesapeake Bay, USA
  15. HwyStar, I have for many years simply remapped the trims to my arrow keys. The fact you double, triple, or even quadruple the commands for a given key by Ctrl, Alt, and Shift modifiers and their left/right variants is just fantastic......... being able to access arrow keys for trimming without taking my eyes off the road has been greatly useful. As I haven't yet bought a TrackIR I rely on my NUMPAD for head turns and re-centering. Hope you've found the solution and enjoy that awesome flight stick all the more.
