After extensive testing, removing and coping mods. I found for me that two mods were causing the CTD prior to launch. These were: 1) Rafale Mod 2) J-10A mod After removing these I get solid entry to the game. I suggest you rename the saved games mod dir, create a new one and move the mods in one by one to test compatibility. I'm sure the mod makers will issue new updates to fix this soon.

I seem to remember in the presentation that the 3000 series GPU can directly load textures from SSD/NVMe via the PCI4 bus without CPU interaction. If this is true then potentially it could speed up loading of map textures as you fly long into new areas, but overall I think the single threaded nature of DCS is the main bottleneck right now. Overclocking my CPU to 5Ghz gave me more FPS increase than jumping from 1080 to 2080Ti.

worst update I've ever seen 2.5.6 .... what a load of junk!!!! It's totally broken my install. Startup time has quadrupled and it immediatly hangs upon getting to the title screen. Task manager reports the process is suspended. Tried repair and cleanup...didn't fix anything. Did ED even do any testing on this before they pushed it out the door? I see loads of issues with steam users, missing dll files and crashes on startup. How do I even roll back to the previous version, which was at least stable?
