F15C training mission
Dear N22YF:
Hi, I am new to this game, play in VR mode. currently have learnt how to land this beautiful "tennis court". But when I do the last landing training lesson, there weren't any way points. I know my velocity vector was side way, but I really had a good look around and didn't see any waypoints.
The cloud was so thick, there wasn't any visual cues, no runway lights, I can't see anything. Then I pressed "1" and was able see the assistant cross. I followed it and crashed. It was really sad to be stuck there, please can you help me? Perhaps you can do a video on Youtube how it is done?

In this lesson, the floating waypoint gates are not shown, but you do still have waypoints - you will have to use the navigation cues on your HUD and/or HSI to navigate to your waypoints as described in the navigation lesson (lesson 4). Apologies if that was not apparent - I'll make this more clear when I release an update to these lessons!
If you follow the waypoints, then you will reach the final approach fix; when this happens, you will automatically switch from navigation steering mode to ILSN steering mode, and the flight director cross will appear on the HUD. If you manually switch to ISLN before this by pressing "1," you may not necessarily be aligned well with the runway, and so it may be very difficult to reach the runway properly by following the flight director cross.
This lesson is super hard, though! It takes some practice to get used to following the ILS cues well when you have no visual references to back you up. But it's very rewarding when you nail it and come out of the clouds lined up on the runway! I intended this mission more as an optional fun side challenge than a required training step - did that come across? If not, I'll make that more explicit whenever I release an update. But anyway, feel free to skip this lesson and come back to it when you're in the mood for a challenge!
Let me know if you're still having trouble, and if so I'll try to post a YouTube video demonstrating it!
