  1. By the way, I also noticed that the moving trucks were not moving, I think by the time I got there they were done. I checked the mission editor and sure enough, the 2 moving trucks are activated at mission start, 9:00:00. I have had to do a lot of late activations when flying the Sidewinder mission by setting up my own trigger zones so that the Ford A10 group didn't activate until I entered a zone near them. I did the same thing here except there already is a range zone. Besides activating them when I enter the range zone, I also set up a Morse code sound and a message stating that the moving trucks were activated, so I know that the action occurred. Much better, they now attempt to travel through the 14 waypoints, of course they don't get too far because of me, hahaha!
  2. Guys, you are right. I fixed this problem! The weapon rack placements he refers to were from the older A10 Training. So, I used the Mission Editor to edit the payload so that it coincided with the training. Now when I deactivate the 2 racks just before launching rockets, the trainers yellow squares go away and the training continues. As far as naming the edited .miz, first save it with whatever name you want, but it needs to ultimately have exactly the same name as original, so back up the original (I usually just add .orig to the end of the filename), then rename the edited filename to what the original was. I've been making videos of all of the A10CII training (just for the fun of it, not as content to make money!), and I am editing the Guns and Rockets video to show this correction, I'll be posting it soon.
  3. So, I was unable to find an answer by searching. I found that when I create Waypoint ID names in the editor, that those names do not show up in the HUD of the plane when flying! I ultimately found that I had to extract the .miz file, and go into the CDU folder and edit the settings.lua with the names, about a 10 character Max, and then replace the original settings.lua file. Shouldn't the editor do this automatically?? Does anybody know how, manually is a pain!
  4. Where did my attachment go I don't know where the sounds.zip attachment went. I used the attachment manager during the creation of the post, but it's not here. So I will try it again in this reply. Sounds.zip
  5. Howdy, I've been flying an A10c for about 6 months and having a blast. In December, I bought the Nevada terrain, and flew some fly-through missions. I had been hotdogging between mountains in the Caucasus and watching videos of real jets hotdogging through the Star Wars, Death Valley, and MachLoop Wales. So when I saw the fantastic "Sidewinder low level course" from Kingsnake11, I was thrilled. I didn't much care for the overdriven .ogg sound bites though (I'm using windows 10 pro). So, I studied up on the Mission Editor and dug into the mission. I made new sound files for the 3 groups - Ford, Dodge, and Infield. My wife did the Dodge female pilot voice. I also changed the alphabet to military. I tried to contact Kingsnake11 to let him know I was doing this, but I couldn't seem to find him. If you are interested in this mission from 2018, and interested in changing out the sound files, then read on: This is assuming you don't know how to use the Mission Editor: Download the Sounds folder and put it in the "saved games/DCS/missions folder on your Win10 system. Not sure where they go on Mac. Then, open the Mission Editor, and open the "Sidewinder low level course" mission of your choice, there are 4 of them. Then, you only have to click on the trigger rules icon on the left and you are there! Do a "save as" first and give it a new name. Then, click on each rule. Click on "Sound to all", then look below to click on the sound browser to go to the new sound folder and select the same .ogg file name, it will load the new file into the mission. But also click on the "message" up above and change any alphabet characters to the military alphabet. It is extremely tedious, but when you are done, save the mission and give it a try! BTW, I did learn that you can change the .miz to .zip and extract the whole mission. There you could change out the text in a folder called dictionary and the sound folder directly. Unfortunately, I couldn't rezip the mission back up, the security wouldn't let me. Also BTW, you can monitor chatter on 315.9 from other planes. Even though the sound is good, I was going to create my own to be consistent. But no matter how far I dug, I could not figure out where the chatter sounds are stored or triggered. The chatter is annoying anyway, so I keep the UHF on 251 anyway so I can link up with the tanker and not hear the chatter. Sorry for the long email, hope you are interested in this.
  6. Well, now that I was able to buy the Warthog controllers, I am in the steep learning curve with the A10c, my first experience with DCS, and I am enjoying it immensely! I am recording the training for my 2 friends who have not gotten into sims yet, and one of them is a real pilot. I realize what an idiot I am, so I refer to all of my videos as demonstrations and not tutorials!Haha!
  7. I'm so glad you are not 15 or so, that would be so depressing! By the way, I am still up to doing my idiotic things, I included a supplement video at the end of the Target video about using the Eng Oper buttons in manual just before engine start (I saw somehting about that from a real A10C pilot and noticed it was not in the DCS Engine start checklist. Well, I did more research and found that there was a wealth of Bleed Air info in the DCS A10C user manual, and specific info about the A10C using Bleed Air automatically from the APU when you move a throttle to idle. So, to try to fix that blunder, I made a separate 7 minute video about the Bleed Air info I discovered. I wish I had one more brain cell!
  8. Thanks for the reply. I am very comfortable with Target. For me, being able to do any keyboard commands on the controllers without looking away from the HUD is a feature. I realize now that posting a Target tip on the DCS forum might not have been the smartest thing to do, hey I'm retired and almost 70, it's to be expected. One last comment about Target that is not DCS specific is that I can save different configurations for any application that uses Thrustmaster controllers, like Prepar3D, Star Citizen, Steam FSX, etc.. This should be my last reply, have a great day!
  9. Thanks, didn't know that. But can you control Track IR center and pause? Actually, now that I think about it, initially, I did set up the lever as a modifier to set up the commands that were in the profile from Polaris and Schnix, which I really liked. But again, I didn't see how to control Track IR, so I set up Target with the same profile commands as Polaris and Schnix, plus added the 2 Track IR commands.
  10. That's fine, accept you have no way to control center and pause of Track IR from the controller unless you use Target. Plus I have a dozen other commands that are normally keyboard hotkeys that are programmed into my controllers that are easily accessible by simply flipping the lever on the flight stick. And technically speaking, if I had the need, I could set up a 3 position toggle for switching between three modes, plus each of those modes can have the 2 modes (In and Out) of the lever. So, that would mean I could have up to 6 modes with any keyboard commands (including commands outside of DCS) in them per switch position on both controllers. Also, the Press and Release are powerful configs, as an example, in custom mode, my Master Mode Control Button performs the "F6 Released Weapons View". I plan to program a Release for that button so that it will perform the "F1 Cockpit View" to get me right back to that view when the button is released.
  11. Perhaps this was already discussed, but I couldn't find it. I started using the TARGET software with my Thrustmaster warthog controllers. Then I found that whenever I had the throttles in the Engine Off position, the throttles no longer moved. I solved the problem by programming "Release" events for the 2 Engine Off buttons (advanced mode of TARGET, which I am using anyway to control Track IR center and pause funcitons by switching to the "I" mode and using the flight stick Lever). I made a video of the solution rather then explain it all here. BY The Way, disregard the bleed air info at the end of the video and if you are interested in the updated Bleed Air info that I found, watch my 7 minute video about A10C Bleed Air: https://youtu.be/pu0AFOc3FrE
