Almost 2 years and this bug still remains. Really annoying to trim out of dive every time I switch seats. Since more and more people getting FFB hardware, this bug needs to get higher priority and more attention.

Hello Nightdare, Thanks alot for your helpful and detailled answer. I gave this a try and it works. But as you also mentioned, when grabbing the disonnect paddle or using the autopilot disengage switch, the in-cockpit toggles all fall in their off position, while the virpil software don't know this and the soft toggle stays in its on state, leading to a desync behavior between those cockpit and real switches. So you always switch HH and HGT manually in its off state bevor using the paddle or the autopilot off switch? For now I would use this workaround. But I'm still curious why Heatblur left out the toggle on GT. Is it a bug or was it always this way?

Hey, did anybody know, why there is no toggle keybind for the ground track autopilot? I tried to bind the three lower toggle switches on my vipil cm3 throttle. They are spring loaded and thus don't stay in position, so I did bind the vec, acl, alt and hdg with the toggle option. Works like a charm, but for gt there is no toggle keybind. After looking up in the default.lua there is in fact a toggle for gt, but it is commented out. I tried to comment it in and after that there is a toggle keybind in the options, but regardless what you bind on it, it won't do anything. So is there a reason for that? Anybody found a workaround? Thanks

Axis tuning not being saved
nexion replied to frostycab's topic in Controller & Assignment Bugs - General
So I came up with some kind of solution here. First I looked into those .lua files in the saved games dcs f-18 input folder. To my surprise in the cm3 throttle file there aren't even entries for the thrust axis, just zoom and TDC. In the stick file, the axis for pitch and roll are missing also. So the game must getting them elswhere. I then looked into the main dcs folder for input files for the F-18. And there are many preconfigured files for many controllers, also vpc cm3 throttle. Other modules like F-15E don't have them. So I deleted those default profile for the cm3 ( in fact copied it out to the desktop), fired dcs up, changed axis tune, exit dcs and looked in the saved games dcs f-18 profile for the throttle again. Still no entries for thrust axis and ingame all axis tune got lost again. Now I looked into those default cm3 profile I moved out of the main dcs folder to the desktop. There are axis entries for thrust left and right. I copied those lines and pasted them in the saved games profile for the cm3. Starting dcs and changed axis tune, exit dcs, look into saved games cm3 .lua again and voila, all changes are saved. -
Axis tuning not being saved

Coincidently I also use a Virpil CM3 as throttle and tried to tune the afterburner gate on the Hornet. The last weeks I flew exclusively helicopters, where I had to tune rudder and collective axis also. But I didn't noticed any problems there. Maybe I missed it, or it's a hornet or cm3 issue? -
Axis tuning not being saved

Same issue here, user curves and other axis tune get completely lost after dcs restart, while general key and axis binding is fine. Anyone else having this issue? -
How it is supposed to aim rockets while in hover? Usually in hover when properly trimmed heading hold is active. When making fine aiming adjustments with rudder to get the I-bar to the cross hair, I generally fight the heading hold. So I apply more rudder to get the nose moving, until the outbreak values for heading hold are exceeded and heading hold deactivates. This means that suddenly to much rudder is applied and my aiming overshoots. So I wobble between no movement and to much movement. That's generally a problem to have precise yaw control with heading hold enabled. How real Apache pilots cope with it, since they even can't look at the control indicator window?

Wow! Really stunning. One could literally see the years of service. Impressive work!

Hey fellow Viggen pilots, would somebody be so nice to make an Oman skin for the Viggen? :worthy: Or at least, a desert skin without swedish emblems? I'm totally lost with the current template. This would be perfect for missions in the Persian Gulf. Imagine an alternate history, where the Oman air force was buying Viggens instead of SEPECAT Jaguars. At least more plausible then Swedes in the Gulf. :P

I have no clue of programming a flight sim, so this is just a guess.... when the apache is modeled for dcs, wouldn't it be easy (in relative terms) to model the mi-28 havoc too, because of the great similarities of the two in layout, performance, and systems? since the havoc is becoming the main attack chopper of the russian army and it is the russian equivalent to the apache, it is more than worth to have the mi-28 in dcs. i would love to fly the havoc in a desert campagin....:) nexion

I played the instant action mission a few times. In many cases i get shoot down by AA vehicles. The last time i was flying low and hiding behind a mountain where other units already being fighting. When i pop up to kill these AA (range was about 6 km) i could't tell if it was destroyed or not. I tried to lock but nothing happend, where other vehicles driving on roads could be locked on. This is how i discoverd that. I don't think its a big issue. I wrote this thread because i wanted to know if i made a mistake or if its how the game works. I'm not a "Schraubenzähler" because of mention this. The realism offerd by this game is so huge, i'm still not abel to handle all the systems right. Im very happy with it and thanks to ED for making such a great product aviable for this small sim market. btw, i'm NOT saying it is arcade!!! Don't get me wrong. I said it reminds me a little bit, because at first i thought BS is using some sort of image processing with the shkval. But is seems that the principle of target designation is the same as in arcade sims, even in a far more complex manner. nexion

so they disappear... :noexpression: hmmm... reminds me a little bit of arcade games..... press TAB and only "right" tagets will be locked on. nexion

Is it a game issue or is it realistic that i can lock on "right" targets only? I mean i can't lock on vehicle wrecks, trees or something. I don't think its realistic, because how would shkval know if the target is already destroyed? I some missions this issue makes gameplay easier. If i can't lock on a vehicle 6-7km away, it must be destroyed and is no threat for me anymore, so i can save my missiles. nexion
