  2. Go to Instant Action -> Nellis -> Cold Start. Start up the Corsair, then taxi a full 360 degree circle. Then tell us about it.
  3. Right. It's my first week in the F-15 Hornet, so I'm still trying to figure some things out. Haven't found the mixture control yet, which might be the problem.
  4. Here's a new behavior... Suddenly get a gear warning in flight... Winwing PTO panel red lollipop flashing and gear alarm sounding, still in the retracted position. I look in the cockpit and the gear handle is in the 90-degree rotated Emergency Extend position. And gear is indeed extended. I checked control bindings. I have absolutely nothing... no keystrokes, nothing... bound to any of the Gear Emergency Extend or Retract commands. The only way to possibly command this would be to point the mouse cursor at the gear handle and roll the mouse wheel, which I did NOT do. What else could possibly cause this behavior?
  5. Yeah, sorry, initially posted in the wrong area somehow. This is about F/A-18C Hornet.
  6. I want so badly to love the Corsair. I DO love the Corsair. But I can't fly it since the last update! Can't taxi to the runway, same as others have described. I can take off and land on the CV since there's no taxi turning involved. The supposed 'experts' telling us how to use the pedals/brakes are clueless. I defy ANYONE to go to Instant Action, Nellis, Cold Start, then start up the plane and taxi a 360 degree circle. Can't, can you!

  8. The VFA-41 Black Aces are now fully committed to action in support of NATO initiatives to thwart Red Russian aggression in the Kola Peninsula. (This is a re-work of the campaign from Jane's F/A-18 Super Hornet!) You can follow (and possibly join) the action here: VFA-41 Black Aces

  10. The Black Aces of VFA-41 have completed actions in support of Operation Hormuz Sentinel. Missions related to the operation began in May of 2024. Those pilots who participated in at least 50% of the assigned missions have been awarded the ribbon shown here. The squadron has been recalled stateside for some well-deserved R&R and some training workups.

  12. Fully engaged in Operation Hormuz Sentinel, the Black Aces of VFA-41 bid 'fair winds and following seas' to one of our pilots. Accordingly, the 309 Hornet is now vacant and being cleaned up and fueled up for the next Black Ace. If you think that might be you, you should review the squadron website and submit an application.

  14. Having returned recently from their overseas deployment in support of Operation Enduring Resolve, the Black Aces have transferred to Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas to take advantage of the training ranges in the desert. The initial air-to-ground phase, comprised of gunnery, rockets, and unguided bombs, is now complete. Range Operations has tallied up the results of the exercises. Those pilots who met the high accuracy criteria at the CCIP bombing range have been awarded the Bombing Proficiency Ribbon shown here. Squadron training is planned to continue for the next several weeks. Follow the action here: www.vfa-41.com
  15. In recent action in the squadron's support of ongoing Operation Enduring Resolve, a flight on routine patrol was diverted to escort a civilian airliner than had been intercepted by Chinese fighter jets attempting to force it to land. The Chinese jets were chased off and the airliner landed without further incident under the watchful eye of Black Aces F/A-18 Hornets. Pretty cool to see the shadow of your jet against the fuselage of a 747. Follow the action here: www.vfa-41.com
