  1. If you have the afterburner detent enabled in your special tab for the F16 you need to press the after burner detent switch to get over the detent. its a toggle, press it once and you "disable" the detent. Press it again and you enable the detent.
  2. Datalink has nothing to do with TMS. The F16 does not have any identification system like the hornet has, so there is no way to make a contact "red" If its red that means that another plane like a hornet/awacs have identified it has hostile. In the F-16 the only way to interrogate contacts is by IFF. IFF is simply your plane asking a question, and your friendly's replaying with the correct answer. If they either do not reply or replies with the wrong answer it MIGHT be a hostile. In the plane, correct IFF answers pop up as green circles, wrong or no answers does not show anything.
  3. No, sidewinders are not supposed to "Auto-uncage". You have to manually uncage them.
  4. When selecting dogfight master mode in the F16 it locks up anything in front of you. The way it should work is that when going into dogfight mode the radar is turned to standby indicated by the NO RAD in the HUD and it will remain in standby until you selective one of the radar lock modes on the TMS. The master modes will also remember who weapons are set up and how the radar is set up, while in DCS currently it always goes into sidewinder in dogfight master mode and AMRAAM in Missile Override master mode. And for A-A master mode it will just keep the selected weapon. In the real jet you would be able to set a specific missile and your plane will remember what missile you set in the different master modes. The different master modes will also remember what mode you set your radar to and what ranges you were last looking at, meaning that if you went into ACM mode on missile override it will stay in ACM the next time you go back into missile override. Currently in-game it will always selects ACM for dogfight mode and CRM for all the other master modes. This is wrong and should be changed.
  5. They definitely definitely can be, but the DTOS missing from missile step button and the STRF being there instead should be changed, as it is mentioned differently in the manual than how it works in-game.
  6. According to the DCS F16 manual "Missile Step. When in flight, depressing the button in EO or A-A mode selects the next weapon station. Depressing the button in A-M Mode cycles between CCRP, CCIP and DTOS.". In-game it cycles through CCIP STRF and CCRP, not CCRP, CCIP and DTOS like it should do. I believe in the real plane (at least for the F-16 block 15 MLU) you press Uncage on the throttle and that will go into STRF when in A-G master mode. In the game currently when you press uncage in A-G you go into LSS, while in the block 15 MLU you would press TMS left or right (not quite sure which) long and that will go into LSS.
  7. Hi, I have been thinking about getting a VR headset for a while. Is the Samsung odyssey + a good headset for flying in dcs? My PC is good enough to run about anything.
  8. Hello! I have been enjoying dcs, but I have found it a bit irritating to have to use the mouse to look around especially on dogfights. I have been thinking about getting VR but I can't seem to find a headset that I don't have to donate one of my eyes to be able to buy half a headset. I have also been thinking about getting track it, but with shipping I have to pay over 200 use. Is there a VR headset that cost around this price point that might give me a better experience than track or? Thx in advance.
