  1. Take it that means no one is bothering to play game mode or everyone has spent time re-configuring controls twice?! I guess I'll just have to do it all over again..

Hello all, I've spent many hours getting the controls set up just right for the real mode of the game to work with hotas, voice commands etc. I'd quite like to have a play with the game mode once in a while but obviously all the controls for this mode are separate from the real mode controls. Is there any way to just duplicate the real controls into the game mode? I don't think I can face taking a note of all real controls then applying them all over for the game mode. Not sure why the two modes even have separate controls, from what I can tell its only simplifying flight mode and giving you dumbed down radar in an osd? Cheers
  3. I guess the biggest difference between the two is cost and for that reason I'd be very disappointed in my purchase if I had any of the issues that you have mentioned with my TrackIR. The only issue I have ever had with TIR is similar to your point 4. Lighting is important, although in this case it's more about not having anything in the TIR field of view that it might confuse with the leds on the headset. Other than that it works fine, smooth and accurate tracking and works out of the box with Black Shark. Not sure what others' experience has been but I would recommend it if you can afford it.
  4. You could try flicking the Weapon Mode from Auto to manual (last switch on left next to all other weapon switches) and see if that fixes your problem. This is just so you can see if its a launch requirment issue, you don't really want it in manual all the time. I had some trouble getting mine to launch without going manual but since watching the directors note on weapons again I was reminded of a few other requirements to allow firing in auto mode. As mentioned above, for Vikhr you need to have the missile circle over the locked target circle too. You should get a C on the hud when the weapon is allowed to fire, do you ever see this?
  5. Yeah I doubt it uses contrast in game either but by simply making the match between target size and gate size more critical at longer ranges you get the same behaviour without the processing overheads. This is all speculation of course, maybe it just randomly decides to be stubborn ;)
  6. Funny someone should ask, only last night I was trying to lock up a target with the gate quite a bit larger than the target and it didn't want to lock. Without any other movement I shrunk the gate and straightaway it recognised the vehicle and began tracking it. I'm sure there must be some logic in having a scaleable gate otherwise why bother with it? Perhaps it only needs the extra clarification if you are at long range or some other factor that makes it harder for the system to discriminate vehicle from background.
  7. Couple of things to try, reassign keypress as mentioned above or, as was the case for me, check that the pause/break key isn't shared with scroll lock for example. I had to toggle the secondary function for my scroll lock un order for the pause/break to work. Now I have just assigned scroll lock to pause instead ! Oli
  8. No I didn't try them, just saw the warning and thought better of crashing my machine, but if its a remnant of beta that's all good, thanks! Found keyswitch, thanks glottis. Mmm, as far as re-arming in concerned, it seems a bit hit and miss, sometimes they say copy and sometimes they don't, have also had them say copy and not change payload.. weird, will have to give it a bit more time and see if I can reproduce.   9. Hi, just got the sim, loving it so far! These may well have been answered in the months since Russian launch but I couldn't find any reference in my search. Should I have a pilot in my cockpit view? There seems to be one in the Producer notes, but in game I never see one. When I request a re-arm / change payload from my maintenance crew, they reply but then nothing seems to happen - is there a certain time I must wait, a certain place I need to be in airfield? What is the reason for the majority of the campaigns being unavailable with Vista? Given that affinity tweak in Vista allows much greater performance on dual and quad core machines, I'd have thought that meant it was the preferred platform for this sim? Hopefully these are simple and quick to answer, thanks if you can help. Oli
