I just shelled out for it. The page still lists Feb 2015 so hopefully they keep true to that statement.
Well at least it mentions a year...
Quite looking forward to this one :)

The Russians just released a new video of the 28th January 2015 incursion from the Bear's perspective :)

Found this comment about them for the F-16:
The tanks have neglible effect on the aircraft agility, at subsonic speed, However, at supersonic speed, the drag is increased proportionally to the increase in speed. When fitted with CFT the aircraft retains almost the full handling qualities, flight limits, and signature. A complete set can be removed or replaced within two hours. The CFTs are built to Lockheed Martin's specification, by IAI as a sole source, as part of the Peace Marble V program offsets.“The CFTs have very little adverse effect on the F-16’s renowned performance,” said Maj. Timothy S. McDonald, U.S. Air Force project pilot for CFT testing at Eglin. “A set of CFTs carries 50 percent more fuel than the centerline external fuel tank, but has only 12 percent of the drag.” The CFTs are designed for the full F-16 flight envelope – up to 9 g’s, maximum angle of attack and sideslip and maximum roll rate.

Huh? I love the looks of Dora! :P
But I agree that I'd love to see A or F or G 190s from VEAO very soon, also the Emil, and also Hurri and Spit Mk I or IIs... errr well pretty much at least %90 of their roadmap to be honest :D
^^^ This!
Now I have to negotiate with the financial controller, she keeps mentioning that we are getting married at Easter and I'm not allowed any more modules until after then :smilewink:

Keep an eye on the relevant threads
Pman
Always do, and very much appreciate the level of sharing you do.
I think we were talking about that one jet with the vertically stacked twin engines :music_whistling:
-
We are keeping an eye on you :smilewink:It was added to the roadmap after the current aircraft that have been in the works for some time.Work may start in model by q3 but wouldn't expect anything to release till mid 2016
Pman
With lots of progress reports along the way please
This is no Random aircraft you see ;)
Thanks for the update

Gee, if only we were getting a map where F-14s would be relevant, like the Strait of Hormuz.
As nice as that'd be, and it seriously would be, I'd imagine the US DoD might be more difficult to deal with in that regard because the Super Tomcat had a more modern radar set up.
I'd be placing my money on getting an F-14A+. That also allows for Tomcat vs. Tomcat scenarios with US Navy Tomkitties heading off against Iranian F-14AM Ali-cats.
You called?

Just sitting here reading this thread and B-Boom another F-16 goes Mach about town
:pilotfly:
There have been a lot recently, sometimes it is months between the sonic booms but over the past month or so we have been having at least one a week. Fairly rattles the windows and doors :D

Solo Turk
Took this series of pictures of an F-16 last summer, it was sitting at the cusp of being supersonic, certainly there was a loud CRACK as it went past me, it was not a boom like we hear from the other F-16s when they are at altitude when they exceed M1.0
The third picture was about when the Crack was heard and he was slowing down in the 4th pic.
There is about 0.3seconds between each picture

Here is some performance info on the Me262 in standard vs planned configurations, Flugzeug Handbuch, and the manual used by Wright Patterson for their test flights.
Thanks for sharing:)
While not a big problem, pages 6 and 7 are out of sequence in the final pdf.

yeah.. when you look through binos, you just see a single circle
if you're seeing two circles, that's actually using them wrong - you need to just widen it or narrow it and the two circles become one circle
8)
Never ever been able to do that. Always two circles for me.
(my eyes are the problem, not the binoculars)

Maybe it was the meteor was the first jet put into production then, senility catches up on you after a while :D

Good find, I have that book and I didn't even notice. If anyone's wondering, it's from the Tomcat: Bye - Bye, Baby...!
Some excellent photos in that book :)
-
i am also really looking forward to that bird...not soo much to do combat in it tbh, but just to fly the first real jet....i have high hopes for the engine simulation of that module.
Yeah can't wait to fly the Meteor too, it flew and entered service before the Me262
But as far as I recall the first jet to fly was the Heinkel He178.
-
It's not that I keep the F104 on a pedestal...
But the do locally, they used to fly from our local airbase and they still have quite a few stored around the base.
-
Perhaps a homebrew thread is in order....
I'm just wondering which model of Spitfire that VEAO are brewing up?

-
Then we khav to change game name frrrom DCS to DS...
Still we could have the likes of that 747 that flies POTUS around, I believe it has some self defence capability.

Oovee's Spintires won an award from Intel back in 2009 with their proof of concept demo in the best threaded category and came 2nd over all.
I've enjoyed watching this come to fruition over the years.

Guys, what is it?
Twin engined Hawk?
looks kinda like that from this angle :music_whistling:
-
Yep! And next we need a map of the nordics and balticum to get the old DID EF2000 feeling back... :D
Childhood dreams come true...
Have to get my EF2000 map out of the attic if we are going Baltic :D
-
So is the "kind of fixed wing" a nod to the Tomcat, or are we possibly looking at the V-22?
I had that fleeting thought too :music_whistling:

It looks like an F-18 going really fast. The nose is too short for a 14
It's space/time compression due to the speed of the aircraft, it's longer than you think ;)
-
You do know air and water are the same thing, right?;)
Ah you have been to Scotland too then ;)
-
lol only that? :P
I'm more interested in the ground attack or anti shipping roles ie. Hawker Typhoon / Tempest, DeHavilland Mosquito, Bristol Beaufighter.
Oh for a Westland Whirlwind, that's the one I would love to see, but there is such a shortage of data about it and no surviving aircraft :(
A lovely little twin engine single seat fighter/ground attack with 4 20mm canon in the nose, they even made a nose with 12 .303 guns and one with a 37mm canon too. The aircraft was designed by that same chap that designed the EE Lightning, Teddy Petter :)

LOL!
Yeah I keep thinking about what the kids are going to do when I pop off, they are going to have fun when they get their hands on all my properties and the junk in the garages :D
... and will they find the secret stash... ;)
