  1. I'm new to DCS and I was thinking of making the F-18 my first purchase. I do have the Thrustmaster HOTAS combo but I don't have peddles yet. Can I still operate the F-18 without the peddles for now? Thanks.
  2. Thank you!
  3. Thanks for the information. How do I get my new copy of the DCS application code to point to DCS.test in your example?
  4. I currently have DCS Stable installed. I want to make a copy of this code so that I can run a second build along side DCS Stable. I get that I can make a copy of the main DCS application folder and I get that I can make a copy of the Saved Games\DCS folder, where the settings & configurations are found, but what do I have to update so that my new copy of the DCS application folder points to my new Saved Games\DCS folder? Thank you in advance for any help.
  5. I just had a quick peak at your videos, they are amazing, thanks.
  6. I was wondering what players might be using as mounting accessories to help position/secure their flight sim gear (e.g. HOTAS, throttle, etc) at their gaming table. So far I have come across three manufacturers of such gear ... Foxx, J-PEIN, and Monstertech. What do you use? Are there any other brands to consider? Thanks.
  7. I just bought and installed the F-15C standalone module (not the FC3 Module). Where can I find the F-15C manual that you mention please? Does the F-15C Module download any PDF's/Tutorial's/Guides as part of the module installation process? Thanks.
  8. I'm new to the DCS sim and I just received the DCS Autumn Sale email. I saw that you can buy the F-15C module (standalone) versus buying it as part of the Flaming Cliffs 3 Module. Does the F-15C fly and operate the same in both cases? Do I get the same amount of tutorials, missions, etc if I just buy the F-15C Module versus buying it in FC3? I'm not too interested in the other aircraft found in FC3. Thanks.
  9. I was curious if anyone has flown both the F-18 and the new F-16 and if so which of the two aircraft are easier to learn how to control and fly? Thank you in advance for your feedback.
  10. Great stuff folks, thank you for all your feedback.
  11. What about the famous F-18?
  12. Is the documentation for where all the commands are bound posted in some sort of PDF that comes with FC3 or do you have to go into the DCS FC3 module and examine the HOTAS and keyboard mappings line by line? thanks.
  13. If I understood correctly the jets included in the FC3 Module do not have clickable cockpits. Does this mean you have to use keyboard clicks or HOTAS assigned buttons to control procedures such as locking on ground weapons, operating navigation, starting engines, etc that would normally be handled by the clickable cockpit? Assuming that this is true does this mean the cockpit procedures are simplified (since its just a few keyboard clicks) as compared to what you would normally have to do in a clickable cockpit? Thank you in advance for your feedback.
  14. Has anyone flown the Viggen?
  15. I "might" to able to source a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS bundle and this in turn made me take a look at the possibility of flying the A-10C Warthog jet. Is this a difficult plane to learn how to fly & operate as compared to the F-18? Thank you for your feedback.
  16. When you buy an Aircraft module does it come with any sort of documentation or tutorial information?
  17. Thanks to everyone for such diverse and insightful ideas, it gives me much to think about. I did some further research and now I'm wondering if the F-86 Sabre might be a viable candidate for the "next step". Has anyone flown the F-86 module? It seems to be a step up from the WW2 airplanes and a step down from the fancy avionics & weapons of a more modern jet. The Chuck's Guide for the F-86 is also only 90 pages which is "small" considering the 333 pages of the F-18.
  18. Oh yes, lol, I keep forgetting about the keyboard.
  19. I see that the Flaming Cliffs 3 package might be interesting option for me. It provides a bunch of aircraft and flying these jets seem to be easier to do so for a rookie.
  20. If the F-15 doesn't have a clickable cockpit how do you operate the jet to get it airborne and to land? Pure joystick/throttle/pedal operation?
  21. Folks, Once again I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. All input is welcome and appreciated. Just to clarify some points it was the TF-51D that I flew for training. The included tutorial missions were very helpful. I will consider trying the sim's included Su-25T and other payware jet modules as my next options.
  22. I would like to thank everyone for their feedback, it is much appreciated!
  23. I have a soft spot for the F-18 as I am Canadian and our air force flies this jet as the CF-18. Is the F-18 a stable module to run in DCS, no code issues?
  24. I'm about finished learning the basics of operating the DCS P-51 and I want to try flying one of the more Modern jets. I was curious if any of them would be easier to learn and fly as the next step? By this I'm specifically looking at the F-86, F-15, and F-18. Thanks.
  25. I'm new to DCS and I am in the process of learning how to use/play this flight sim. On the hardware side all is set, I have a PC that exceeds the recommended requirements to run the sim and I just picked up the Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS bundle that includes joystick, throttle, and pedals. I'm ready to download the DCS software and begin the learning process to earn my wings. I see on the DCS website there are a number of DCS World, P-51, and A-10C PDF manuals so I wanted to ask fellow pilots how they learned how to fly in DCS. I glanced through some of the manuals and some of the PDF's have a huge number of pages! What is the best way to proceed to learn this sim please? There seems to be potentially a huge amount of information to absorb. Should I read the manuals first, run through the tutorial missions, etc? Thanks.
