  1. Great mission, overall I really enjoyed the tasks. Nice touch on health indicator. Good luck with it, Mike-Delta
  2. Foreword: Sending my deepest thanks to Aplenwolf, for some of the most memorable times in DCS world. I send this with a whole in my heart and will miss our battles with combined arms. You (Alpenwolf) have tirelessly given so much to our community, making missions complex, interesting and most of all fun. History: I for one, wouldn't of met such a fantastic bunch of guy's helping each other to learn how to fly, use DCS in many new ways, with enjoyment along the way. The cold war 1947 - 1991 server was a meeting place for many players, and even though it was full on battle mode, many pilots came for the challenge. Over 9 years of helping pilots learn their craft over the skies on the Persian Gulf, Syria, and the Caucasus's. My last computer was from the same era, that's how long ago it was. Future of the cold war: Well, as far as we know, it's not to return. Using the missions on a regular server is no more. We have asked to use them, but Alpenwolf has asked that we don't use them. We respect that, he put hours of his own time and it's his choice to share them. Can we have them in similar missions of the future, sure, we have the missions, but it will not be the same full mission, as we only have part of the mission files. Dedicated server: Making a dedicated server in the short term is not possible, but the future will be something that we can make. I've been working on missions over the last year, learning and hosting missions for the small group cold war players. This I think will accelerate my efforts to finally create worthy missions for our cold war community. Closure: In my final words about the cold war 1947 - 1991, in the ashes of the old, grow a-new. We will return.... Thank you Alpenwolf!! Deepest Regards, Mark (Mike-Delta)
  3. Mike-Delta Put me for F14 or Rio, I'm easy on which ever is needed. GCI is on offer if we need one.
  4. Here is the Track file of the AIM54 lofting and flying away from the target. I hope this helps. Mark... Aim54FlyingBackwards.trk
  5. After locking onto the target 60+nm to the north, I lock on and fire from the back seat. After checking the F10 map, I see that the missiles are flying southbound. Here is a link to the video of this action: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1580633424 I hope this is just a one off. Thanks Mark Mike-Delta MikeDelta_DCS - Twitch
  6. To ALL New tanks to play with... Type-59 and the Cheiftain. Finally we can have a good fight with propper tanks. I see a lot of the issues have been fixed, lets see what else is broken.. Happy hunting.. Mike-Delta
  7. !Big Thank You! I just want to thank Alpenwolf for an amazing server, the work that he puts into the maps is incredible. Without the effort put in from him, we wouldn’t have the enjoyment that we all desire. The air battles are fantastic, close and in some cases down to the pilots skills to keep off the deck and make the other pilot crash due to a long dogfight. Information is key, the way to win all wars, it comes to communication with your pilot’s, and your ground commanders. There are many ways to get your message across. There are details Alpenwolf has provided to get messages to anyone in game, let’s use this to and not pretend it’s a single player game. Its been a great few days having the server populated, having a skilled opponent only does one thing, it makes you learn. Learn to combat their actions, learn to evade, learn then to fire and not to, learn to listen to call outs. This server has improved many pilots and ground commanders, they are amazing and a force to reckon with. If you go back to other multiplayer servers, you will quickly see how much you’ve improved. These are some of the useful things that this sever has done for many of our pilots, let’s try and keep this momentum going, streamers can help by advertising to their audiences, pilots can tell their friends, pass the word out, the server has many skilled pilots that are willing to help teach others. A big thank you to Alpenwolf, your an amazing person. I’ve had an amazing time here on the Cold War 1947-1991. May we have many fights together. Fly Safe, Mike-Delta
  8. Blue GCI CS: Mike-Delta=Merlin Should the GCI be cancelled, I'll be flying the Huey. Thanks...
  9. This mission was really good from what I saw. The Military base is really hard to destroy, but well so it should be. Local AAA should be a little more beefy. This would give the airfield that little comfort in taking off without trouble. Keep up the good work guys!!! Thanks, Mike-Delta...
  10. Hi guy's, daddy's back. Some might get that reference. I may be a little late to the mission on Saturday, depending upon my new duties. Look forward to seeing you all in the fight... Until then, Mike-Delta
  11. If this sort of thing keeps up, I’m going to make an extreme effort to make him whinge so much that he will think twice about joining the server. I’m completely fed up of his comments, I’ve listened to many players and adjusted my game play to conform to real world actions, actively letting friendly fighters die, when missiles are fired and I see it on the map. Granted, I don’t have to power to show or not show things on the map, but both sides have this feature. Those that don’t stream or have the morals to refrain from this are at a great advantage. You don’t see me calling them out. The missions are great, complex and hard work to coordinate. I don’t have time in missions to follow individual players, but to assume I’m cheating crosses that line. I’m fair and considerate, I don’t want to ruin others gameplay. But when you fly from A to B via A to B then your asking for trouble. Fly different routes, try different tactics, be unpredictable, don’t fly close to ground troops if you know they are in the area. Would you like me to fly the helicopter for you? I’ve given you tools to avoid my troops, use them. You’ve been warned, the next time, I’ll be out to ruin your day, time and time again will I make your helicopter eat dirt, fire and brimstone. Mike-Delta Out!!!
  12. Mission tonight? Hi guys, was it just me, or is there a mission on tonight? We’ve had some great fights over the last few nights, it’s been a great battle both in the air, and on the ground. It takes a lot to get my blood moving, but it’s been pumping well over the last week. Fingers crossed for some good team work on both sides… See you all in the next fight… Mike-Delta
  13. Hi VELLU, Welcome to the Cold War, it’s great to get new players coming to the server. I see you said you’ve flown in IL2, this is a great start. We on the Cold War 1947 - 1991, try to help players like yourself and give you the support you need to succeed here with us. We primarily use SRS for comms, the text box is a back up, but we simply don’t have the time to type to players. We understand not all pilots can use voice, we work around the by them listening and then typing to reply. My role is mainly GCI and Ground commander. When you come online, ask if for me C/S: Merlin for GCI, I also go by C/S: Mike-Delta for when I’m flying. I’ll give you tasks depending upon your skill set, direct you and if needed, give you help on how to engage. The server is fast, dynamic, and ruthless at times. We are mainly on between 1800hrs to 0200hrs GMT. Thanks once again for trying out at the Cold War server, we hope you’ll enjoy what we do, and how we work. There’s plenty of things you will learn, we have a great community if your having issues please ask. Thanks, Mike-Delta / GCI
  14. As a tank commander, I would regularly get off the tank and look around, I’ve even stood on the tank while moving. This is a perfectly acceptable move, granted the hight is a little high. As for cheating, I think that’s a little harsh. I do take offence to that statement. I understand your meaning, but please think before posting those type of comments. I go to great lengths to play fair, I have listened to other players, I realty call missiles fired out, unless I see them from the ground. We have lots of things required for ÇA, but it’s moving in a good direction. thanks, Mike-Delta.
  15. Awesome mission. Alpenwolf has created an amazing mission. Tonight’s fight was epic, with the addition of those extra tanks have made a mission turn into a full on battle of the bulge. it’s been a fight that I’ve not had in many years. Thanks. worth every minute. cheers, Mike-Delta
  16. Wishing you and your family a happy new year. Thank you for a great year, wishing for many more great years to come.
  17. Merry Christmas everyone. Swedish delivery does not have any troops, crates or weapons on the blue farp. Nothing can be used, the farp looks to be fine, no damage. Cheers, M-D
  18. Cold War 1947 - 1991 server back online!! Looking forward to tonight’s new and improved mission. Using LotATC for the first time in anger, watch live on twitch tonight. https://twitch.tv/mikedelta_dcs QS Mike-Delta
  19. I for one will be happy to purchase a license, I’ve offered this over a year ago, but due to technical issues Alpenwolf was unable to get LotATC to work correctly. This will make my life simpler, I’ve already got LotATC and will be your first GCI tonight. Get the word out and let’s make this server populated with like minded members of the DCS family. 20. !!GBU Bombing!! Well as the title says, GBU 12's bombing on the enemy farp is a real blast. With the aid of air support and a ground JTAC (Player Driven) you can cause chaos for those all around it. I have a collection of video's for you to watch to enjoy the fun we had making this happen. Only one negative point. We were accused of camping. I'm not sure how they could say this, the name of the game is to either destroy thy enemy or suppress it, to put them on the back foot as they say. That's what we did, don't get upset, get even. You can always team up with others and suppress our CAP making it impossible for us to use CAS. (Rant over)! Thanks to Hades 2 for CAS and Ocean 2 for CAP. Enjoy!! https://www.twitch.tv/collections/kZJLkzA3thbxuQ
  21. Last night was a great teaser playing the red side for a change. I learnt a lot and enjoyed myself immensely. Thanks for a great mission, I'm not saying I did much, without the other players, you just have pilots bumbling around the map waiting to die or to find a plane from the other side to kill. I shows that teamwork is key in the DCS world. Let's keep up the teamwork and ensure your SRS is on to help the others fight the fight. Congratulations on the win Red's, you earned it. Until the next fight.. MikeDelta = Merlin https://www.twitch.tv/mikedelta_dcs
  22. !Friendly fire incident! Just to remind pilots of the dangers. This is an AI incident, but none the less still friendly fire. Please note that since the last update, I’ve seen this happen twice. The fire came from a CHAP launcher, and you can see that it hits both friendly fighters. Granted they are in line of the enemy so yes they would of been hit in real life. However in real life, the operator would of held their fire until a safe release could be achieved. This was the first of two separate Friendly fire incidents in this mission. https://clips.twitch.tv/BlindingKathishHamSeemsGood-asaWDLXENsaESDdZ Upon deeper investigation, I see that the enemy plane was destroyed and off screen prior to the second release of the missile. The AI, may still have eyes on the destroyed mig due to the aircraft still being in the air at time of the second launch. Cheers, Mike-Delta
  23. We are still losing gazzeles during catch me if you can. We tried both slots to land and go back to GCI to help out and upon my return the gazzeles were lost. We tested this out to ensure it was not a mixup, same answer. Impossible to work with. I'm not sure what can be done about this factor, yet another bug that needs ironing out. See you in the next fight..... Mike-Delta
  24. I’m aware of the ai turning off the switch, it’s when I’m in multi crew when this happens. My real pilot was flying the uh1-h and I was sitting in the left seat. It just failed to allow me to fire.
  25. Thanks for the explanation, I’m glad it’s not a regular thing, I would go mad if it was. I’m doing some training tonight, so I’ll not be on mission. I will be on tomorrow evening for the Helo mission. Looking forward to it. Until then, I’ll see you in the next fight. Mike-Delta
