I apologize for the delay in response to this, I never saw the notification. I also recently received a report of this via discord, but unfortunately I have not been able to replicate the issue. Are you using the latest version (V3.2) in the first post? Any additional information you can provide may be helpful such as Windows version, Excel version, etc..

I think there's a bunch of data tabs missing... as it's calling something that isn't there.

Hi, the problem is that you have pasted that line in the wrong file, it should be placed in the Export.lua file, not at the end of TheWay.lua file. If you remove it from there, and paste it at the end of the Export.lua, it should work correctly.

Hi, this is interesting, it might be a problem i haven't detected until now... i hope i can find a fix for it

I bit the bullet and stopped fighting it. Did a total uninstall of TheWay erasing any trace of it. Reinstalled.... seems to work fine now. From watching the animation of minimizing and restoring window it probably had something to do with it... *shrug*

Flying today, f16 with v2;  I was able to select waypoints no problem, upload to aircraft, minimize TheWay... flew about 45 mins, landed, rearmed, curious and went to open TW again... no go comes up with black rectangle... and the icon on taskbar is now gone. Still able to close TW using the red x where it would be in the black box... maybe something is timing out?

  4. I'm having an issue with v2 that's repeatable: works fine initially, load waypoints upload to viper, minimize theway... go for my sortie, but when I bring up theway again (after dying usually) it's only a black box the size theway used to be. Check task manager and there are several instances of theway in there. I'm able to force close them all but lose all the waypoints I had in there. Seems to not like being minimized and then brought back again?

edit: Additional info; Shut down DCS, TheWay was still open, however when I brought it up from minimized it was black again... i was able to click close where the red X normally is and it closed. So the program isn't crashed, but it's only showing a black rectangle where the program usually shows.

  5. I'm not sure if this is set as intended so ED would be good to chime in here, but it USED to work that once soi on mav you could undesignated and slew right away the mav... now it seems stuck to target. Even when I soi back to flir and undesignated it refuses, i see the VVSL blink on then off right away and it won't unlock... very bizarre behaviour.

  6. Force Feed Back is enabled in settings; but everytime DCS opens now with 2.7.2.7910 forcefeedback is disabled? The joystick goes limp; axis are still recognized.

Tried unplugging and replugging joystick while dcs is open, but doing so makes dcs not recognize the stick at all.

Tried while dcs is closed; you can feel FFB on when dcs is closed as the joystick has tension, once dcs opens, blip it goes limp; close dcs and ffb back on.

edit: also, have run repair several times, as well as update through folder.

  7. It sounds like you have a bind issue with your throttle, or whatever it is you're using for throttle.

Start by making sure you don't have multiple binds to the throttle and ONLY to whatever it is you're using.
Then calibrate your throttle used to replicate the WHOLE curve on the the throttle (maybe you've calibrated it and it's only using a portion...).

  8. Technically you don't clean up on carrier bolter; you simply as above max power and climb away on AoA. Once at 600 you re join the downwind for another pass. IRL they would vector you away from the pattern if it was busy, but i think they time it so an aircraft can bolter and rejoin immediately. It's a lot of workload on the bolter and yes it will pitch up but you deal with it and settle on climb out. Just remember to make your downwind turn at or before 600'.

I'm no expert, but here's my experience with that:

    1. Target line color depends on target. If you select a unit icon as target, the line is red. If you select open terrain where you suspect a unit, the line is white.

    2. I think this is related to 1 - at least sometimes if you select a unit icon as target, it's sometimes impossible to remove the target... no idea why. Sometimes double-clicking helps

    3. Beats me, but I experienced the same. Sometimes it helps to jump into the unit and then leave it again, sometimes it doesn't. 40 is the maximum number of rounds for the M109.

    4. Same as three.

I think it's safe to say CA is quite unfinished and bugged in it's current state, which is sad as this is a module with a tremendous potential in DCS. Currently I spend most of my time on MP servers in Tactical Commander slots, it's great fun in persistent online wars!

Thanks for the reply; I agree it seems... unfinished... like it's still in Beta. Unfortunately I don't think the the uptake and interest is enough to devote more resources to it...

I really enjoy it as well, and can be very useful a lot of times; even more useful if it worked flawlessly!

Yeah so who do you blame, the community for chewing off its arm to spite its hand, or the developers for taking the long way home, with no intention of making it?

I think there are no winners here... like I said above if there was much more interest than there is they might put more resources to it.

  10. Hi All,

I've recently gotten more into the CA side of DCS with helos and such; but using them more i've come across a meriad of... issues, problems, grudges...

I'll list them with numbers, if you are able please answer as many as possible; it seems the resources for CA are quite lacking. Thanks.

    1. M109 Why are there red "target lines" and some are white

    2. Sort of related to above but why can I sometimes select a target to remove... and sometimes not...

    3. After it seems two volleys from the M109 it doesn't want to fire anymore... I'll add a new target and it won't fire; I see that it's reloading as beside the name on F10 it shows 155mm HE 37...38...39...40; it stops at 40 and doesn't fire; unless it takes more than an hour to reload???

    4. When you set a unit to move it goes to the "flag" stops but TASK remains at "on march" and it won't fire

To remedy the above I've tried changing it's "FOrm", switched it's ROE, switched it's STATE...

  11. When using track ir what is the correct way to then use CA for aim? Currently when i jump in a tank and in gunner view track ir moves the aiming reticle but not the gun (mouse moves gun) so aim is way off. How to turn off track ir prior to or reset the aiming reticle so the gun is pointing to where the reticle is? I don't need track ir on when gunning, but i do want to use the mouse to aim.

It's pretty much proportional to the amount of time spent in the air, multiplied by the number of units (including missiles) that need to be tracked.

To make it sorter, have fewer units and/or fly for a shorter period. That's about it.

ugh that sucks; so if it's a long mission from carrier ingressing and the bug is 1hr into mission there's no way to shorten it?
Else need to spawn closer or something i guess. Which is unfortunate for bug reporting.

  13. Obviously my google skills aren't great because i can't seem to find how to create a "short trk" for reporting bugs... after landing from a mission the tracks are huge and not able to upload. But to create a certain problem obviously want them short. Any tips?

Thanks, that's quite a disadvantage then.

Basing off carrier ops hornets will almost exclusively have a tank on centre line... hence it's not a big deal. Really even ground ops the hornet will very often have a centre line tank. If you don't have a tank your options on mission are so reduced; if I don't have a tank and need to defend a SAM or get into dog fight you can pretty much forget your original mission as you need gas. Generally you're also flying a wise to get to AO and would be bingo as you arrive on station...
