  1. Agreed but I'll bet that's MUCH easier said than done. Imagine having to render moving 3d pilot arms constantly while flying. Kill the fps. And it will also kill an ED's animators, who will have to create not only animation of every button in cockpit pressed\released, but with all possible sequences combination, otherwise when you will think about choosing your TACAN channel by pressing e.g. "129" , you'll see your hand taking off from HOTAS, pressing "1", then going on HOTAS again, then moving to press "2" and back, and finally "9". I pretty sure it would be a fun to watch such movements for a first 5 minutes, but then... LOL!
  2. I'm willing to fight to the death to be part of this! Wouldn't miss it for the world!

  4. Outstanding! Thanks for that bud. Settled. :)
  5. Hey I'm a big F1 fan, may have to pick that game up. Looks sweet!
  6. lol neither do I that's for sure!
  7. I'm sure I read this somewhere non-dodgy. Are you sure? Proof? Hmmm same again as I'm sure I read this somewhere non-dodgy. Are you sure? Proof? (Oh and F4 is not proof for those of you who want to step in. ) Like I've already stated GGTharos, this is hotly debated but no one has any hard evidence. I'd like to see some from someone, anyone, to settle it.
  8. Pretty sure this has already been mentioned but I wanted to reitterate the whole IFF in CAC with the F-15... or lack thereof. There should be a cross in the middle of the HUD indicating if a friendly has been locked. I INSIST on not using externals to identify friendlies while in Lock On as I shouldn't have to (this is SOOO unrealistic and detracts from the sim) but geez it's unecessarily difficult in the F-15! Can this please be looked at?
  9. The more hardcore the better imo! EXCELLENT!!! :D We're sim enthusiasts after all... well most of us here are.
  10. Ahhhh Strike Commander, so many childhood memories. Yeah it was 1st person for the initial phase then cut to 3rd person. BIOLOG, in what way would the engine affect a 1st person ejection? It's all a 3d world and 3d cockpits, I would've thought it'd be very possible. And Dammerung, yeah the pilot black out would have to be included too. This whole first person ejection would be very, very cool. I'd love to see it implemented if it's remotely possible for the future. If a player wanted to see his pilot in external view they could press a 'view external' button. Or maybe have it as an option setting. Perhaps I'm getting carried away...
  11. Ok, now I'm confused. This is a pretty hot debate this one, Maddog and Pitbull. I originally thought it was Pitbull, then did some reading and discovered it was Maddog, only to do some more reading and talk to some people concluding it was in fact Pitbull. Now you're saying Maddog, Ice is saying Pitbull, the world's gone.... mad. Can anyone provide some hard proof on one or the other? As for the firing unlocked missiles, here's my reply from our 169th forums on this same topic: Hmmm good point. I'm not currently able to view the available tracks as I'm on my parents crappy modem but I agree that pitbulling is a pretty cheap way to score kills if you have no idea where the target even is. TWS is my favourite option with the AIM-120. However, to my knowledge the AMRAAM is supposed to fly in an S pattern if it can't detect a target and continue to do so until it picks something up or runs out of energy. So even if the target is 90 degrees from the missile's radar's field of view it will eventually be spotted if in range (whether it hits is a matter of early detection). Don't know about the 77 though. Can someone correct me on this one? Good topic Ice.
  12. I agree Caretaker, a slightly transparent HUD looks very cool. Much more realistic.
  13. Yeah I agree! I've always thought about that myself actually. It'd be really cool, a great idea!
  14. I read the closure from the way the gun pipper's range guage is moving. I find that adequate, don't you? Adequate is the word but not good enough. It's a little clunky for my liking. If you're closing fast it's not to bad but if you're trying to achieve a nice, slow even closure it's just not accurate enough. I'm sure the real F-15 would have a display in kts or mph as it's far more precise.
  15. Absolutely. Closure rate would have to be one of the most important things to know while in CAC. I'd be amazed if the real F-15 didn't display such data while in guns mode. How did the devs let that one slide?!
  16. WICKED IDEA!!!
  17. Salvo mode. Means you will fire all your selected weapons at once.
  18. Hmmmm I'm sure if it is. Why is it that this only ever happens in the vertical? Sure I get lock drops when in trail etc. but this appears to be something totally different.
  19. Just thought (if I may) bring this little one up again as I never got an educated answer from anyone. Thanks again.
  20. I am very, VERY strongly against having the Su-27 being able to use active missiles. It's all about simulation and realism. NO ACTIVES FOR THE FLANKER!
  21. ...Sharks? :P There's only enough room for one shark in LOMAC's ocean...
  22. Jetwash, now THIS would be an awesome addition. Shame it sounds so complex to model but I guess it's more than understandable.
  23. Personally I'd love to see the F-16 coz it's my fav jet, but I voted for the F-18 simply because it would bring more balance to the sim. LOMAC needs a Western, carrier ready, multi role aircraft. Of course, upgrading the F-15's avionics would also be VERY nice. I'd be more than satisfied with that as well.
  24. Swingkid, just thought of another thing while at work today. When in guns mode in the F-15, I'll often find that the cannon pipper will flicker when flying in the vertical. If I'm 90 degrees nose up or down it seems that the pipper seems to have trouble tracking. Is this something to do with the doppler shift radar or is it a bug? Cheers.
