  1. Hi, I would like to pick the thread up from here for a similar problem: I use the x52 with a VR setup and VR does not have a continous zoom but a two-step zoom called vr zoom and vr spyglass zoom. Its meant to be used with two different buttons, but I would like to put the functionality to the slider on the throttle. I tried to do it in saitek software assigning nothing from 0-33%, from 34 to 66% I picked an unused keyboard command like Rctrl+Num6 and from 67-100% i used Rctrl+Num7. (Assuming that the saitek software would push and hold the selected keys as long as the slider was in the selected position.. I am not so sure about that) Then in DCS, I assigned the zoom to Num6, modifier Rctrl and the spyglass zoom to Num7, modifier Rctrl This did not work, maybe I misunderstood something. How would you do it?
  2. You mean the pesky HDMI cable not connected problem? Damn, that makes sense why the new install got me rid of the problem. I haven´t updated windows since, so I better not do it. Thanks for sharing the information!
  3. I am not familiar with your history with the Odyssey+, but have you considered making a clean new windows installation and set up just what you only need, so WMR obviously, Steam, Steam VR, DCS and your video and hotas drivers. For me the oddyssey+ works fine, none such problems in 3 months of owning it and only recently the same kind of problems started popping up.. error 1-4: HDMI not connected, USB 3.0 Not connected and so on. Turned out to be the Nvidia video card driver that caused the issues. Fixed it, was fine for a couple of days, until it went rogue again... a complete clean install got me finally rid of the "hardware" trouble. Tomorrow I will be switching to AMD graphics.. RX5700XT is coming, I hope to never see such trouble again.
  4. Hi, I am using an Samsung Odyssey+ that has this anti SDE-Filter which makes the image a little blurry in order to get rid of the SDE. Then it has a tiny sweet spot and on top of it all, it has fresnel type-lenses which lead to an effect I think is called ghosting, that comes to play in high-contrast areas like bright text on black. Those three things interact a little with my hornet´s DDIs and so I have a really hard time to read the text on the displays, even with maximum VR zoom I am constantly adjusting the sweet spot, which is annoying as hell and is a true immersion-breaker. So I thought I´d ask you guys if there is a way ... maybe hidden deep in some config file which adjusts how far the zoom reaches? That would be awesome. Just a tiny bit more zoom would be enough to make the text readable. And while we are on the way of optimizing VR zoom, why did the developpers not make the zoom plane normal to the viewing vector of the HMD? The zoom works great when zooming into the HUD or the DDIs, but as soon as you zoom into your engine switches to the left or right, the zoom becomes skewed in a weird way.. the viewing angle becomes shallow without moving the head. Regards, phil
  5. Hi, thank you for your input about the fullscreen/mouse issue. When I start DCS, on my desktop DCS is displayed as a vertical box in the center of the screen, taking up about 1/2 of the screen. This is where DCS renders the HMD view into. Is this normal? But pushing Alt+Enter does not change anything. Have a look at the photo, is this how it is supposed to look like? Also, in the DCS system options, Fullscreen is activated. Changing it to windowed did also not help. My mouse still vanishes after a couple of clicks, and with it, all my joystick controls go away too. I need to push the menu button on one of the WMR hand controllers, bringing up the menu and then closing it again in order to gain controls and mouse back ... until they go away again. What I also noticed is that my mouse likes to vanish even easier when using the scroll wheel in order to turn a knob... this is a 95% chance to loose my controls. Slowly, I am getting a little bit annoyed by DCS since I cannot control my aircaft properly. I can almost not click any cockpit buttons, and breaking the immersion every 2 min in order to look for a keyboard is also not very entertaining. Still is there anyone who knows this issue, or knows what I did wrong?
  6. Ok, now i tried it, but all this setting changes for me is that it makes the active area inside my view of that i can move the mouse cursor smaller. This means for example that i can not reach buttons to my lower left or right anymore but the problem stays: Whenever I do a couple of mouse clicks (does not matter if through the actual mouse or through my x52 mouse), I loose joystick controls altogether.
  7. Oh.. I have not tried it yet, but now everything makes sense to me. I already wondered what this option could mean, but now that you mention it... could it be that the vr window is just part of my desktop and that the pointer could eventually get outside the window and then cause the unwanted click and lockout behaviour that I was talking about? Thank you for pointing me in this direction! ;-)
  8. Hi, I am quite new to DCS and VR and I would like to know how do you guys operate the aircraft´s switches and buttons with your mixed reality headsets? There are a few options which I know of but they all have their quirks (at least for me). First I could control the gloves with the two input controllers, which not really works so great (I have not really figured out yet how to properly push/pull a knob. I can either nudge it a little with the controller and then sometimes the switch moves in the direction I have pushed it. I can also make the line appear on my index finger and then select a button/switch, but that does not really work either. It works for menus though, but not in game.) Second, I could use the mouse, but that is one device too many, plus it locks me out of the game when I push a mouse button for 3-4 times so I have to go back to desktop and then back to game. Third, I could make the white dot stay in the middle of my view and then point at the switches with my view and then just press the mouse button on my x52, but that also locks me out of the game and I have to go back to desktop and return to the game I am a little frustrated but you can´t really play DCS without pushing buttons or switches...
