Same here, also in the Steam version as in the local version. DCS doesn't start. (a few seconds you can see "dcs.lock" in file-explorer but then nothing happens.

since the apache apdate, the game just crashes without loading

It worked for me. Pitty that all of my mods have to be reinstalled.
