Each engine is different. Running high MP and low RPM's can result in detonation, which is very hard on the pistons. Modern turbocharged engines can run at 30" of MP, your not gonna keep your RPM above 3000. In non supercharged/ turbo engines MP decreases with altitude. For example at 12000' your MP would be approximately 18". Your not gonna run less than 1800 RPM. Thrown into the all the above is your mixture setting in relation to RPM and MP. Regards, Danny

I have been having fun with this Sim, like high speed aborts. The 767 and 757 have auto brakes with an RTO setting. This applies max auto braking when the throttles are brought to idle if speed is over 85 knots. Load the Seattle ready for takeoff. RTO is already selected for you. Advance the throttles and select EPR, the button just under the autothrottle arm switch on the flight director panel. This will cause the throttles to advance to TO power. It's a little slow advancing. Once the power reaches TO power the throttles go to "Throttle Hold" noted on the pilots MFD on the lower left corner. At around 140 to 150 knots rapidly retard the throttle to idle, this will activate max auto braking. Then with your mouse select both reversers, this will also cause the spoilers to deploy. Just keep the aircraft centered on the runway while doing this and dont touch the brakes. Regards, Danny

Is anyone running an eyefinity 5x1P setup ? Thanks, Danny

Captain Sim 757 what I consider to be the best airliner pc sim ever made. There have been a complaints about this sim and I believe the main reason is because people don't know how to setup their pc for FSX or operate the 757. Can the 757 sim be buggy? Yes, somtimes it just decides to not work right. If you don't know whats supposed to be right or wrong it can be very frustrating. It's not perfect but I am amazed at the detail, its obvious the guy that produced this is a 767 Captain. I have access to 757 manuals and worked hard to understand the systems. You will not get this amount of detail for free, it takes a hot computer. Mine is a I7@4.2, 6 gig of ram @1600 and an ATI5870 running three 24" screens in profile. I just ran the "Cold dark Aircraft" in Seattle. I did a complete starting sequence and everything worked as it should, additionally I loaded a departure sid, route and arrival sid in the FMS. It loaded perfect. I taxied out to 34R. I pushed the throttles forward about a third of the way, armed the autothrottle, and engaged the EPR. The throttles advanced to the TO power setting. At rotation speed I lifted off and raised the gear. At 400'I engaged LNAV then hooked up the autopilot. At a 1000 I hit VNAV, and it worked as it should. The throttles went to climb power, the nose lowered and the aircraft started accelerating as it did I retracted the flaps. I was getting a smooth ~30FPS. This is a real complicated sim and involves a lot of system knowledge to operate properly. I don't know about any of his other products but this 757 sim is the best. I believe with a little more tweeking this Sim could be used for real 757 training. I hate to see a good sim bad mouthed when people just don't understand the systems. Regards, Danny

I thought LNAV worked okay, I could select direct to a waypoint and hit LNAV and it would follow the track. VNAV I just didn't mess with too much, but I agree didn't work right , I just use flight level change or vertical speed. FMS can be quirky but I think it is the best FMS simulation I have used. Whats wrong with the APU? When you talk fuel I assume you mean fuel burn rate? What guages are porked? I get about 20FPS with triple screen in profile...it works.

What did you find modeled wrong with the 757 Sim? I purchased the 757 sim and while not spot on I thought is was the best 757 pc sim available and the best aircraft FSX addon behind the virtual reality F18. Regards, Danny

A10C IVS (Instructional Video Series) - by Tyger
Burnerski replied to Heli Shed's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Very well done Tyger. Thank you. R/ Danny -
I have only had the A10c beta about a week but I was comparing the external view of the A10c and fc2 A10 on the runway . The A10c aircraft graphics are much better than FC2, the A10c Warthog is absolutely stunning, the best I have ever seen. Stunning graphics are not free, I realize its Beta but this Sim screams for a quad core cpu and ATI 5870. Even with this setup your gonna need to turn some stuff down. High AA and high view distance are two big frame rate killers. They are giving us options to suit your preference. I would rather have maximum options than them artifically set limits so that people won't complain about not being able to run the sim "Maxed Out" R/ Danny

I have a link to a video demo in the screenshot section. Regards, Burner

I posted info in the Home Cockpits section about a new setup I think is really trick. I'm using AcesHigh 2 in the demo but I think it will work great with the new Warthog sim. I had to rotate the camera so the video is sideway. :^0. Watch it in HD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1b44o654Qnc Regards, Burner

I had triple screen profile and I like this setup better. You really need trackir and a 6DOF pit to get the best effect. Is it perfect? No. But this is IMO the best setup for a reasonable price with current technology. I used FSX superbug in the pic because it is probably the closest to the coming Warthog sim. In the current version of lockon the top half of the upper screen is clipped. I'm personally into "guns only" dogfighting aginst real people and Aces High 2 is all I fly. With this setup I feel like I'm cheating cause I know most people are on single screens. I will try and do a video the problem is its hard to get the whole sim in the cameras view. Regards, Burner
-
There is very little stretching, none in the vertical. If you go single screen you will get what you see on the middle screen, look how much more you see with this setup. This is an ATI eyefinity setup with a combined resolution of ~ 1900x3700. In my opinion this combined with Trackir is the best setup for fighters and should work good with the new A10 sim. Its great for dogfighting, have been using it in AcesHigh 2 and love it. Regards, Burner

I think this is a trick setup especially when combined with Trackir. Sorry for the poor pics. Regards, Burner

I recently downloaded Aces High 2 to see what it looked like with my triple screen setup and c if online play has improved with faster internet options. The graphic engine is dated but they are supposed to be working on improving it. Where Aces High 2 is really impressive is the online strategy, view system, aircraft, boats and vehicles available to operate. I don't think any dynamic campain engine will ever match going against real people. The view system is 6DOF and has the option to save positions you prefer. I have had more fun flying this sim than any other for a long time. Be warned the skill level of the guys flying is outstanding, prepare to have your brains gunned out. Check it out at http://www.hitechcreations.com/frindex.html, they have a free two week trial period. Regards, Burner

You need to get bezel management setup. I'm only running one card and have heard of problems with Eyefinity and crossfire. There is a demo on Youtube somewhere that shows how to set up bezel management. You might want to check the widescreen gaming forum. Ibrin the guy that runs the site is super nice. I'm running the 10.3 drivers I think 10.4 is out now. I get around 60 fps but I can't zoom out too much, there is a point at which it really slows down or just locks up. I think the only LUA changes I made were to allow me to zoom out further. I think it's the view Lua. You should be able to find more info by seaching the forum. When I get time I'll post my LUA settings.

No worries . I tried to do this setup on the cheap. My center monitor is a Dell 2401 and it has a mount that easily rotates from landscape to profile. The two side monitors are used Gateways I got on Ebay for $160.00 each, they had fixed mounts. So I purchased two Dell mounts off Ebay for like $7.00 bucks each. The Dell mounts are not vesa capable so I had to do a little fabrication to get them to work. I don't know the model number of the Dell mount, I just bought ones that looked like mine, you could probably get a pic of one from the Dell site. It is now pretty easy to go back to landscape. You need to take the cables loose to rotate and them and then set up the software. I can go back to landscape in about 10 minutes. There are some changes in the view.lua maybe the graphics.lua but are real easy. Good luck and if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

The song is a ripoff from a ripoff. I got it from an Anatoly Kvochur demo. Heck I would play the real deal but Youtube is blocking most music.

I had a day off an wanted to practice some formation flying with a new sortie I created. I'm pretty rusty and need more practice so give me a break on some of the flying.:music_whistling: The AI operates on a different flight model and makes it difficult to stay in position during changes in speed or altitude, so I decided to back off to loose root during certin times while the AI was doing it's thing. The only editing done was to clip the video at the beginning and end to reduce the length, obviously the sound was added. The sortie is a formation takeoff with me as two in foggy weather, a little fingertip and trail enroute followed by a low vis approach and formation landing. If you have the bandwidth its much better in fullscreen HD.
-
Another thing you can do is set player and another ac from your group to start on the ramp , then let the other ac taxi out ahead of you and do a formation takeoff.

Excellent.
