Really! I would love to get my hands on that software. In fact, I will donate some money for the programmers. Burnerski ranch.lazyo@gmail.com

Nice work, lets see more. Formation flying is one of the coolest things to do with Lockon. What would be neat is if you could record a flight then replay the track and join the replay.

I know this has been done a thousand times before but I got a new camcorder and was playing around with it. I originally had audio from Zepplin but Youtube blocked it so the audio track suspect. Its best watched in full screen HD. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHcFkRVxxEk

I lost hydraulics in a mission and was trying to see if I lost both systems. While looking at the hydraulic guages I noticed each hydraulic guage was labeled APU. Not a big deal really, I was just confused by the labeling.

I'm using a Cougar and initially had inoperative trim. The above fix got my pitch trim working. I thought pitch was a little too sensitive with the default setting so I flattened the pitch line out , feels pretty realistic now. Proper technique is to constantly trim the aircraft when speed is changing, it doesn't take much speed change to get the aircraft out of trim, just like in RL.

Yea thats a biggie, I was pulling my hair out tryng to figure out why I couldn't fire missles or mavericks. Then I discovered you need to hold down the button for a couple of seconds.

That sounds like Adaptive AA in catalyst control panel. Change to lower level.

Formation is a lot easier with FC2.0 compared to FC1.12. Your gonna really like FC2.0.

This is a real quick and dirty formation demo I recorded. It's not much plus I'm real rusty, but I think you can see the precision of the flight model. It's much better than FC1.12. I'd like to do a better one but I just don't have the time right now .The flight model is good enough that if the networking is smooth, I think you will see a Blue Angels type Demo with four pilots . Air refueling will be a piece of cake. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvyPWUD1jL4

English Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 Now Available

Just put in "country" box France instead of US and leave the State box empty. Then put correct address with card payment section. Thats how I got it to work. -
Flaming Cliffs 2 Flight Model
Burnerski replied to Burnerski's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The formation flying was with the SU27. The problem I'm having is getting the manual trim working which you really need to be in trim for good formation work. There may be some sort of auto trim going on , I'm not sure. I don't like auto trim but thats my problem. I think the Eagle has auto trim in RL. Again I have only used the Sim for a couple of hours. Even without manual trim the formation flying was fantastic you can really sense there is a lot more precision in the flight model calculations in formation. Another thing I noticed was the sensation of speed on the deck is much more realistic. PC flight sims have always seemed slower on the deck than it should be, you just don't get the sensation of things rushing up at you. In that respect FC2 has done a better job of translating the low level speed sensation. Overall sounds are a lot better. The balistics seem better too. I ripped the wing off my wingman with guns, he was screeming "I'm hit I'm hit" as he spiraled down. heheh. The formation flying is fantastic! -
I have not had much time to really evaluate Flaming Cliffs 2, plus I have the Russian version which makes it more difficult. One thing that I noticed right away is how much more accurate the flight model seems. Where you will realize it the most is in formation flying. I cannot believe how well you can fly formation in FC2. It's almost like real life , yes its that good. I tucked right into fingertip, trail no problem, formation landings no problem. I have just started evaluating FC2 and I'm sure people will find problems, but so far I think this is the best PC flight sim ever produced. Burner

Heck I bought the Russian version and will buy the English version when available. Oh by the way FC2 is totally awesome. Flight model is better , noticed right away the roll rate, seems more realistic(faster and more crisp). Frame rates are good on my machine. W7, ATI 5870, i7@4.2, 3 screens in portrait@3800x1920. Watch out for catalyst settings. Adaptive AA is still broke and super sampling is real slow I'm currently using multi sampling. Unless you know Russian you will want the English version. Burner

I'm downloading the Russian version now, I think it will be more authentic. Total download size is ~ 2.0GB.

The first thing I would buy are 3 monitors, Dell has a good deal on 23" monitors with displayport. The next is a ATI 5870. Then see how much money you have left and go from there. Triple monitors in portrait mode will blow you away. Burner

Lockon with 3 24" screens in Portrait Mode

This morning while drinking coffee I was watching the video and noticed something very cool. When looking 90 right you can see a slight reflection in the canopy of a shoulder with a patch on it. -

I was off work yesterday and was flying Lockon all day with a big smile on my face. This is the future for flight sims. Triple screens in portrait mode. Here is a pic of the setup. -
Another neat fact is if your in HOJ, at burn through, the radar will automatically transition to STT regardless of prior designation(RWS or TWS)
-
Frostie if I remember correctly, in the real F15 anyway, bugging a target twice while in TWS will put the target in STT. Regards, Burner

The video looks best if run in HD and full screen. -

The center monitor is a Dell wth display port that I bought new off E*** for $475.00. The side monitors are used gateways off e*** for $170.00 each. I removed the plastic casing around the gateways for a more narrow bezel.
