When I got the G2 I also upgraded to Windows 11 with a complete clean install so there should be no trace of Occulus software. The guide mentioned in the 1st reply is excellent but covers so much it is hard to know where to begin. I am happy that the rest of my system is fairly well optimised so I will just focus on other settings. DCS I have left the PD in DCS to 1.0 as this seems to be the recommendation? Steam VR I have attached screenshots of my current settings if someone who tell me if these look OK? Thank you

I have recently switched from Rift S to Reverb G2 but I am finding the settings a bit confusing. It seems I need to adjust settings in WMR, SteamVR, WMR for SteamVR and DCS itself. My setup is RYZEN 5600X, 32GB Mem, 2080 gfx, M2 drive, Windows 11 Any advice appreciated on how to setup to get decent performance and graphics. Thanks

I currently have the Rift S which I am considering replacing with the HP G2 but I cannot decide if I should wait and see if the upgraded version that is currently only available in the US is released in the UK. 1. Is it worth waiting for the upgraded version of the G2 2. Is my current system going to be good enough to run a G2 System specs Windows 11 Pro MSI X570 Gaming Plus Ryzen 5600X Gigabyte RTX 2080 32Gb 3600Mhz 1Tb M2 drive 3Tb HDD Soundblaster ZX Rift S Thanks Dustbag

Hi, I have trained the Vaicom pro to my voice so all of the words are recognised but no matter what I do I cannot get the kneeboard to work correctly. When I say "Kneeboard" the kneeboard appears and when I say "Notes" the notes tab appears but for all the other tabs no matter how many times I say it the relevant tab does not appear. I understand I can assign the tabs to a button/key press but I really wanted it to work with voice. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks

Ever since I upgraded to VR several years ago I have had a problem that whenever I make any changes to the graphics options it reboots DCS. This is very frustrating because it means if I am trying to tweak graphical settings everytime I make a change it reboots the game and I have to wait for it to load up again. I have had exactly the same issue on multiple system builds and after clean installs so I dont think it is an issue with my system or the installation. I raised a support request on DCS and the reply I got said "This is not a bug. DCS is based on an old engine". I found this a very strange reply and wondered if this was normal for everyone else?

Yes it was a direct comparison as I was running 2.7 on my 9600K for a few weeks before changing to the 5600X.

How do I verify it is AMD compatible? It is Patriot Viper 4 Blackout Series part number PVB432G360C8K
-
Hi, It was a fresh install and all latest drivers installed. Memory is 32Gb of Patriot Viper 3600 using XMP profile It runs OK in single player missions but as soon as there is a lot of AI units (e.g. Liberation DCE) it becomes very jerky and much worse than it was with the 9600K

In the end I went for an AMD 5600X and and MSI X570 motherboard. I must admit I am quite disappointed. I wasnt expecting major improvements but I am seeing much worse frame rates with the 5600X than I was with my 9600K @5GHz I have not owned an AMD processor for many years so maybe I dont have it setup correctly. I have installed Ryzen Master but not sure what to do with it. I have also read about PBS but again not sure what to do with it either. Does it sound normal to have worse performance after switching from a 5Ghz 9600K to a 5600X and if so is there anything I can do (Apart from selling the 5600X and going back to Intel) Thanks

Hi, I play in VR on Rift S and it runs pretty well it is just that lately I have got into playing the Liberation Dynamic Campaign and finding that even on the small scale maps I get a very low FPS. I realise there is a lot going on in the Liberation campaign with many AI units so not expecting miracles but just wanted to know if it is worth upgrading from a 9600 to a 5600X Thanks

Upgrade 9600K vs Ryzen 5600X Current system:- ROG Z390-H wiith I5 9600K @5.0Ghz 2080Ti 32Gb Memory 1Tb M2 drive Rift S Soundblaster Recon Z If I do update my current system will be used to upgrade my sons PC so it will not be wasted and he is happy as he gets a free update. However does anyone have experience of changing from a 9600K @5Ghz to a Ryzen 5600X and if so what improvement if any can I expect to see? Thanks Dustbag

Hi, Current system:- ROG Z390-H wiith I5 9600K @5.0Ghz 2080Ti 32Gb Memory 1Tb M2 drive The fastest CPU my M/B will take is a 9900K. Could someone tell me approximately what percentage increase I would get in DCS if I upgraded the CPU from 9600K to 9900K Thanks

Still cannot launch using the catapult after patch
Dustbag1969 replied to mattag08's topic in Bugs and Problems
I am running the latest beta build and I am still unable to launch from the carrier even after trying all of the suggested work arounds. Is anyone else still having this issue and I should just put the Cat in the garage until it gets fixed? Thanks -
I realise it is my own error for not reading the documentation that "Rudel chw" has so kindly reminded me of and will wait the 31days until I get a new reactivation I just wanted to check if this will happen automatically or do I need to do something in order to get the activation?

Hi, I upgraded my computer recently and had to reinstall DCS and modules. It appears I have ran out of A10C installs and I get a message saying I will get 1 fresh install after 31 days. I cannot remember when the 31 days is up but when I check it still says "Install available after 31 days". 1. Is there any way to tell when I will be able to install the A10C module again if I cannot remember when DCS was installed? 2. If I upgrade again in future will I have to wait another 31 days before I can install the module? (Hope not as this seems a really crap system) Thanks Dusty

After further testing and more reading I am convinced it is just me doing it wrong:doh: I do not fully understand the autopilot system in the F14. It seems if I do not touch any of the autopilot controls I don't have any problems but as soon as I start using AP I start having problems. Hopefully this makes sense to someone and they can explain what I might be doing wrong. On the Hotas profile I am using I have ALT HOLD ON/OFF - Think I understand this AUTOPILOT TOGGLE - No idea what this is? AP REF/NWS TOGGLE - Does this just switch autopilot ON/OFF Thanks Dusty

I don't have FFB and I am not using vJoy (Using T16000 Hotas system) I agree with Wrightie that it seems totally random and I might fly 2 or 3 missions with no problem and then the 4th mission its like the plane is possessed and wants to go into orbit. I will try a few more tests tonight and see if I can determine under what condition it occurs as it is spoiling a fantastic aircraft for me.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. "DLC is used only in landing config. You turn it on by using NWS/DLC button and control with DLC/maneuvering flaps wheel (both on the RL stick)." - I will check this as I don't think I have accidently activated but will check. Unbind the "aircraft pitch up" and "down" as well as "aircraft bank left" and "right". By default they are on arrow keys. It could be that you accidentally press these, and they stick for some reason. See if it helps. - Already done this I had the same problem once and recalibrating the stick fixed it. Hit rctrl+enter and check that the stick is centered correctly. - I only see this when flying the F14 so I do not think it is a calibration issue. I can jump into the harrier or A10 and they do not have any issue The Cat will naturally pitch up as you offload weapons or increase speed, but nowhere near to the extent that trim alone won't fix it. Definitely need to rebind your pitch axis and check the curve. - I will try rebinding but it seems strange that if I exit the mission and start again it flies normally for a while.. I suspect I am inadvertently switching something on so I will look closely at this DLC that has been mentioned. If activated would it be normal to make the aircraft pitch up so dramatically? Thanks again
-
Hi, Gear is up and flaps are not extended and occurs at any speed. If the stick is centered the plane is pitched up at about 25°C and I cannot stay level using trim. Only way to stay level is with stick fully forward and with trim fully forward. As far as I am aware autopilot is off but I have tried cycling on and off and it appears to make no difference. I am still learning DCS and especially the F14 so could you explain the "DLC more lift command" just in case I have inadvertently done this? Thanks
-
Hi, I am relatively new to the F14 and I am having a frustrating problem that I don't have with other modules. Sometimes during a flight the aircraft starts pitching up and I have to push the stick fully forward and trim fully forward just to keep the aircraft level. When this happens I end up quitting the mission and starting again. Because it only happens with the F14 I am sure it is just something I am doing wrong but I don't know what. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks Dusty

Hi, Over the last 2 years I have had an Rift and then later a Rift S and also 2 different computers but each time when I click on "Exit to Desktop" from within DCS I get a pop up saying "DCS has stopped responding....." As I am exiting the game anyway it isn't a massive problem but I just wanted to know if anyone else has this problem and if they have managed to fix it? Thanks Dustbag
