I have been having massive performance loss since the last 2 updates and was ready to give up on DCS for a few weeks and see if it improved. I decided to give it one last go tonight and on a F4 mission that I was getting 20fps last night I am now getting a steady 60fps. The only change I made was to disable HAGS in my display settings and this seemed to make a massive difference. Tomorrow I will try switching it back on and see if my fps plummets again but for tonight I am just happy to be able to fly again. 7800X3D B650 Gaming X AX RTX 4080 2Tb M2 drive HP Reverb G2

I am also seeing big performance drop since last update. I used to like playing Liberation dynamic campaign generator but since last update it is unplayable with frame rates of 30 to 40. 7800X3D 4080 32gb DDR6000 2tb M2 drive Hp g2 reverb I have parked DCS for now as it is pretty much unplayable for me currently.

I think I will wait and see what happens as I am very happy with the G2 and dont want to dump it unless I have to so I will probably do as Baldrick suggested and defer the update to 24H2.

How does the q3 compare for ease of reading the cockpit instruments and what typical fps do you achieve compared to G2

Apparently Microsoft will remove WMR from update coming to Windows 11 later this year which will render ghe HP G2 useless The Quest 3 seems the obvious choice but I am concerned about the lack of a dedicated display port connection on the headset and what sort of frames can I expect at good detail levels. My system is 7800X3D RTX4080 32gb DDR5

Hi, Currently have a G2 version 2 which i have had 2 years and am very happy with it. I am running Win11 so with the recent announcement I am looking at my options. I don't want to revert to Win10 so I am considering replacing it with something else. Cannot afford to spend more than £800 but don't want to have something worse than what I currently have. What upgrade options would you recommend if any or should I wait and see if anything happens with the G2? Thanks

Pleased to say I have managed to drop some bombs. I have an X56 and I had set the nozzle angle on the top rotary dial on the throttle and what I think may have been happening is that I was accidently moving the dial very slightly and I assume if the nozzles are not completely retracted the bombs will not release? The other thing I have changed is when I was holding the WP Inc button to set T0 I was typing in 0 and pressing Enter on the UFC. I have now stopped doing this. It doesnt work every time but previously I could not drop any bombs where last night out of 10 attempts the bombs released 8 times. I am going to try moving the nozzle angle to the rotary dial on the underside of the throttle which is hopefully not as prone to me accidently adjusting.

When you say "TDC depress and slew". I have the TDC action/no action" option unticked do do I still need to press TDC action when I have moved the DMT cursor onto my target? Also when I press WP increment long and 0 comes up in the display do I need to press TGT on the UFC panel and then hit Enter to confirm T0 I did wonder about my nozzles as all of my problems with the harrier started since I changed my T16000 Hotas to a X56 Hotas. I am having all sorts of problems with ghost inputs from the X56 so wouldn't be surprised if it has adjusted the nozzle angle.

I have Chucks guide on a tablet in front of me and I am trying to follow the guide for CCRP using the DMT but only about 1 in 10 attempts to the bombs release and I have no idea why. 1. Sometimes after designating the target on the HUD it says "AUTO" or "RAUT" or "GAUT". Does this matter and what should it say for a CCRP bomb run using the DMT? 2. On the DMT should it say TV or INS in the top left after designating the target 3. When I have the DMT pointing at the target what is the correct sequence after this point up until bomb release 4. Do I still need to hold WP increment for >0.8sec every time and then select TGT - 0 and Enter Thanks for any suggestions
-
I watched your trak and then replicated it myself the only thing being for me the bombs did not release. The only difference I could see is that on the run in to the target on your trak on the EHSD it said DESG STP while on my attemtp it said DESG TGT Dont know if this is relevant but it was the only difference I could see.

Thanks Gulredrel for taking your time to try and help me but despite many attempts I cannot get it to work. I loaded one of the Instant action missions and selected WP2 as steer point. Selected DESG on EHSD and then held WP increment to set it as T0. I got the bomb release line and followed it and when the drop line appeared I held the bomb released button until it passed the FPM and nothing happened. I tried it again about 4 times and each time nothing happened. On the 5th attempt the bomb dropped but I have no idea what I did differently this time. I turned back in and tried again but the bomb didnt release. I finally gave up and loaded up the F16 which works fine for me. Because I got the bomb to drop once it is obviously something I am doing wrong but I have no idea what. What is strange is when I used to fly the harrier 9 months ago I didnt have a problem with CCRP bombing. I will give it a break and try again in a few days as it was getting me very frustrated as I love the Harrier

Thank you for that explanation and that makes sense. I will try again tonight using target T0 and hopefully the bombs will release. So if I have a waypoint and I select DESG on the EHSD to designate this waypoint and then press and hold WP increment for >0.8 seconds to set as T0 I should then be able complete a CCRP release?

Hi, I didn't have a TGP because I thought I could demonstrate the problem without it. I have read Chucks guide on LGB but it doesn't seem to mention anything about long press on WP increment o designate T0. Can you only drop bombs on T0 and not T1, T2 etc.... Thanks Dusty
-
Hi, I loaded 4 bombs and created a random target point on the map and then assigned it to T1 then designated this as my target. Everything seemed OK but when I got to the release point nothing happens even though I have held bomb release button for several seconds. Hopefully you can see some reason why the bombs arent dropping in the attached track. Thanks for your help Dusty lgb fail.trk

I have recently returned to the harrier after a break of several month's. I don't know if something has changed or I am doing something wrong but no matter what I do LGBs will not release. I get the release Que and everything looks ok but when the release bar passes through the fpm nothing happens. I have watched every video I can find and everything looks ok but I still cannot get bombs to release. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks, Dustbag

Hi, I have recently returned to the Harrier after several months and I am having the same issue that I just cannot get LGBs to release. Everything seems OK and I get the release que. I hold bomb release for several seconds but nothing happens. It used to work OK for me so I wondered if there had been any changes in the procedure in the last 6 months that I am missing? Thanks for any advice

Hi, I have the opportunity to sell my 5800X3D and replace with a 7800X3D. The upgrade including motherboard and memory is less than £350. It will be used with a 4080 and a HP G2. If anyone has already made this upgrade could you give me your opinion on the increase in performance? Thanks Dusty

Hi, I am able to select DLSS but it seems my DLAA option is greyed out. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this option to be greyed out? Thanks Dusty

Thanks for all of the suggestions and I am pleased to report I finally managed to lock and fire the IR Mav so I am now happy with employing all of the weapons. My next challenge is getting to grips with refuelling as the harrier seems to really go through fuel at a fast rate so I never have enough to complete my mission and get back. Thanks again
-
I will follow those steps and hopefully it will work. On stage 7 if my ir seeker is on the target and I am less ghan 7 miles is there a button to try and force a lock? I have been pressing the TDC which as you have said slaves the seeker to the fpm so I won't do this anymore. Thanks and I will give it another go
-
Hi, I am OK with most weapons in the Harrier but I just cannot get the IR Mavs to lock. I have watched loads of videos and tried to follow the procedure. When I switch from the TPOD to the Mav seeker it does slew to where the TPOD wad looking but then it doesn't lock and if I try to force a lock the maverick seeker jumps to a different location and I have to start again. If I try to slew the maverick sight box on the hud it is very erratic and some times it will move and sometimes it won't. I am sure it will be something I am doing wrong but I cannot see what. Any help appreciated

Hi, I have a HP G2 and run the standalone version of DCS. Is it now possible for me to close Steam and not use Opencomposite and just run DCS and it will use OpenXR for my headset? Thanks

I am planning to upgrade my graphics card before Christmas and my budget is up to £900. It looks like the new amd cards are going to be more than this so I am interested in recommendations. Current system Ryzen 5800x3d X570 gaming plus Gigabyte 2080 1tb m2 drive 32gb DDR @ 4200mhz HP G2 ver2 Windows 11 Thanks

I have a T16000 and TWCS but no rudder pedals and I am using the profile created by CMDR Bezil. I have read a lot about people using an Xbox controller for the CPG seat so is it possible to map everything needed to a T16000 and TWCS only? In particular I dont know how to move the cursor on the centre screen while in the CPG seat. Thanks

OpenXR Guide - Deprecated - This time for real (▀̿Ĺ̯▀̿ ̿)
Dustbag1969 replied to nikoel's topic in Virtual Reality
The OpenXR seems to be giving me smoother performance but it has introduced a strange issue. If I lean left or right instead of my head moving in the cockpit the whole cockpit moves left so I cannot see all of the MFDs. Any ideas how to fix this? Using a G2 headset Thanks
