I was just about to order the odyssey cushion for improved FOV until I happened here. Since I ordered the prescription lenses for vr optician I think I'll wait. I was also reading about how to improve frame rate. It seems Radeon has a feature similar to DLSS
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sapphire-trixx-boost-scaling-for-other-amd-cards.267475/
Also similar to DLSS, it doesn't have any relevance to DCS or VR. Unless I'm missing something?

In the Mixed Reality Portal there's this setting at the bottom of the 'headset display' options...
I start DCS from a shortcut and WMR never takes over the mouse anymore.

I tried that replacement face plate linked earlier in the thread but didn't rate it. It didn't appear to be any closer at the bottom, and I think the claim that it put your eyes 15mm closer to the lenses was very exaggerated.
I downloaded the CAD model from HP and made a new one based on that. The profile of the face plate is identical but is 10mm closer all round, which should be evident in the pictures. Using it with my old Vive foam (which I've noticed smells a bit sweaty) but I'm really pleased with the result, FOV seems very much improved although I don't have any numbers to back that up.
I wear either glasses or contacts. Glasses are absolutely fine with the original face plate, and while they fit with mine there's noticeable pressure which I reckon would get uncomfortable pretty quickly. For longer sessions I'll definitely use contacts, but it's very handy to be able to easily swap face plates if I'm wearing my glasses.

I know how to edit waypoints, but my point is, that you have to have at least one engine running, to have the DDI’s turned on, so you can edit them, or other things on the DDI’s. It can’t be good for the environment, or the engines life cyclus.
The DDIs operate on ground power.

Anyone know what causes the comms menu to continually appear and disappear?

There was a thread a year or two ago about restrictions when landing on 03, something like staying north of East Lake Mead Blvd. So it does happen.

I thought the delays affecting initial pre-orders were perfectly understandable, if unfortunate. The people shafted were those who pre-ordered later and still had no idea when they'd receive their headsets even though HP were selling them direct.
Obviously not passing up the compensation, but didn't feel it was at all necessary in my case.

I've a feeling that might result in the stick being somewhere in front of your face.
Edit: That's an exaggeration, but I'm sure it would be way too high. My Mongoose base is roughly level with the top of my thighs, and I use a 50mm extension with the Hornet grip. It's far less than a realistic throw, but it's much more important that the stick's in the most comfortable position.
-
Will you be able to mount it in a suitable position? Most chairs will get in the way of a realistic stick setup.

In the control assignments options, top-left corner is the drop down menu to select modules. Select UI layer from that.

Is your TrackIR's z-axis for the Hornet definitely set to movement and not zoom?

So for those of us coming from the Oculus Rift S ecosystem, any pointers to setup tips on things we should adjust for the G2 for DCS and VR gaming in general? SteamVR resolution, sim VR settings, etc?
Try reading the last few pages.

Spent most of the evening faffing about trying to get things set up, WMR for Steam VR beta, SteamVR.
Software is not setting resolution correctly, at 100% it wants to set it above 3100x3100 per eye. Have to manually input as close
to 2160x2160 as I can.
Isn't this deliberate? Render buffer resolution is higher than screen res to compensate for the barrel distortion required by the lenses.

I preordered from SystemActive in July. They had been keeping people up to date with expected delivery dates, the latest of which was 'second week in November', i.e. now. They've since gone quiet and word is that HP aren't actually letting them know what's going on.
Depending on how many preorders they have to fulfill and how many units are being produced, ordering recently may mean quite a wait.

To clarify: Scan aren't actually selling the FE's via their website, but were chosen by Nvidia as the UK distributor. When they're in stock on the Nvidia website you're redirected to Scan who process the order.
And yes, I am a magician.

My 3080 acquisition took a bit of a twist after I posted the above on Weds. Got an alert that the Founder's Edition was in stock at Scan and managed to nab one of those, arrived yesterday. Never had a FE before but I really like the look of them this time round. Cancelled the EVGA and saved myself £60 in the process.
Haven't got round to trying DCS with it yet, that's something for this weekend. G2 can't arrive soon enough now.

I certainly expect to make compromises considering it's gonna be driven by a 1080Ti until I can get my hands on a 30-something. For starters I'm hoping I can offset the increase in resolution with less reliance on supersampling (coming from a Vive Pro). Beyond that it's impossible to say until I get hold of the hardware.
Seems too good to be true, but I appear to have landed an EVGA 3080 on Amazon this morning. Supposedly due here on Friday but I'm not believing that until I see get a shipping notification.
Kinda relieved this popped up before a silly money 3090 did.

Reports that the G2 at half resolution is clearer than the Rift S at full resolution... I'm wondering how many, who have pre-ordered the G2, expect to be able to run DCS at full resolution vs running it at 50% resolution at an acceptable FPS? and with what GPU?

Hi Brun, I tried downloading the Zip earlier. Everything seems fine and I viewed each 3D model in Adobe photoshop.
I sent the files for print and they say sizing is corrupted, and 4 of the files are completely corrupted?
I know nothing about 3D print files or printers or software so don't know if its something I have/ have not done?
Cheers
They're not corrupted. Some software will require them to be either imported with the scale set appropriately, or scaled up after importing.
A professional 3D printing service really shouldn't be having any issues with this.

That switch shouldn't need any lua editing. There should already be 'special for joystick' bindings for:
UFC ADF Function Select Switch 1/OFF
and
UFC ADF Function Select Switch 2/OFF

Send me the page number and i will look it up when i get home
A1-F18AC-NFM-000 page I-2-4. Or page 31 if you're looking at the same PDF as me.
I've not much comprehension of what the 32lbs of force feels like, but it is simply a case of relying on that rather than bothering with the finger lifts if using MAX to depart from the boat?

Obviously can't argue with your experience, but what's the above quote from NATOPS on about?

The resolution is so arbitrary I wouldn't worry about whatever 100% is. Just set it to whatever value gives the best compromise between framerate and image quality.
Re. DLSS, I knew when posting that Nvidia had announced VR support. Like you say tho, it being dependent on ED means I doubt we'll see it any time soon.
