  1. Hajduk, you linked directly to the photo and it has the name in the link. Here is the original article http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2009/02/26/323070/picture-serbias-lasta-95-trainer-makes-first-flight.html Try reposting a photo to a service like Photobucket and changing the name.

  3. I knew what this was when I saw it this morning and am surprised it's still open. B-58A Escape Capsule http://www.ejectionsite.com/eb58caps.htm Open View
  4. Damn, the English writing threw me. I am going to bed myself... One of the places I looked had an ongoing thread of over 4 years (10000+ posts) of nothing but cockpits... ACK!!! I'll wake up in 8 hours or so and see what someone else has posted, tell my wife I'm doing "job research", and bang my head figuring out the mystery. Night.
  5. I just spent the last 18 hours looking through THOUSANDS of pages... I want to hurt you ;) New best guess... McDonald Voodoo variant..? The closest I can come is Notice the small black behind gray engine gauges while all the rest are black on gray. This seems to be a trend with McDonald fighters. Also, small gyro located over the radar display.
  6. Ack... you're making me look again ;)
  7. ARGH!! I give up for now.. too much to do :) This is what I have so far: 1. Likely 2nd or early 3rd gen (radar and threat display only sign of electronics) 2. twin engined (dual gauges and throttles) 3. western (English writing "range dial" & "friction") & black instruments on gray background 4. very skinny (where the pilot is at least) The closest I can think of is a F-5 variant.
  8. Altitude difference plays a bigger role. A missile that can receive mid-course corrections can fly an longer, arching profile...while a missile that must fly straight has less range.
  9. That's why I like the JDRADM concept... MRAAM sized motor with an IIR (and RF) SRAAM seeker :)
  10. No always.. IIRC, the UK was working on a AAM a while back that used puffer jets to get the missile pointed in the right direction before the main rocket kicked in. ---edit My bad.. It's called the CAMM and it is a SAM http://defense-update.com/products/c/camm.html odd.. I feel a Dr. Seuss rhyme coming on :)
  11. Yes, it was the HA-200 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispano_HA-200 btw, the prop trainer was the HA-100 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hispano_HA-100
  12. Just another instance of a reporter taking a few words out of context and inventing a story to entice viewers. What the hell ever happened to Fact Checkers?
  13. I have to leave for a couple of hours... So, if you KNOW you have it, feel free to post a new one. Next Clue... In the above clue, only the wings and tail from the prop plane were used in the design of the jet.
  14. Here is a clue: It started out life as one of these (of which only 2 were built due to lack of engines).
  15. no, not a squished Mig-17 :)
  16. Next Incorrect guesses so far: Squished Mig-17 Mig-9 Mig (Fresco or Farmer)
  17. So did I until I zoomed in to the flag on the tail. After comparing it to the combat history of the P-51, it made sense.
  18. Honduran P-51(D?) from the Football or Soccer war (1969) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Football_War
  19. The R-80 http://www.airshipsonline.com/airships/r80/index.html DAMN, that was hard :) Outside View:
  20. There is an important "first" related to this:
