  1. I use Kegetys shaders. I fly mainly in Caucasus for the record. Works great there. Head over to the VR sub forum and you will find them. There are other versions and shaders as well you can try from other users.
  2. I read an article about updated graphics for another commercial simulator. There they said that the graphics would give great visual improvements at a lower hardware cost. I don't fly that sim, so I cannot confirm it. However we do know that DCS has a great potential if they could optimize the game engine. I fly in VR and community generated shaders has greatly improved my performance and experience. Based on that there is proof that ED could do a lot to improve things...
  3. Hi After reading a few posts about reinstalling Windows and DCS I decided to do it. To my great surprise it gave me quite a boost in performance. I can now run with higher SS, get better readability in cockpit and higher FPS. The issue now is that I cannot look closer at the gauges in the cockpit. If I lean in the cockpit is "pushed" the same distance in front of me, so the distance from my eyes to i.e. MFDs is always the same. Before the reinstall I could lean in to see better on the MFDs. Not sure how to describe it in a better way, but hopefully my English is understandable
  4. I've had a lot of fun with the updated "Operation Piercing Fury" campaign. The only downside is that your wingmen are quite useless. They keep on crashing or doing strange things in many missions. This is not the campaigns fault, but known AI issues in general. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3312814/
  5. Have you tried some of the shader mods? That had a big positive impact on my system. I also noticed that for me it was better to turn the motion smoothing off. Now I can get 45 or above FPS in the instant action game (medium Georgian winter) for A10c-2. Even when flying low. I run a 8GB 2070 RTX. I guess this relates to my CPU needs to work harder to calculate the motion smoothing. I run high textures, high cockpit shadows, medium vis range, no MSAA, no terrain shadows and 16x AF. For VR I would love if they could make the cockpit crystal clear. I really hate that the MFDs, instruments and text are blurry unless I lean in. If I really crank up the SS the cockpit is readable, but that kills the fps as the entire game runs on high SS. Hopefully it should be possible to increase only the cockpit resolution. I run 1024, but cannot see any difference with 1024 every frame.
  6. I had wrong speed set on my CPU. Update in OP. I will get fpsVR to see. I think it is safe to say that DCS has a great potential for VR optimization. Hopefully it will happen something in the not to distant future. I guess the Vulkan API will help a lot. Not sure if it can be compared, but I can play Half Life Alyx on ultra high settings with no issues. The G2 performance indicator is all green in that game.
  7. Hi After endless hours of tweaking my setup, I was quite happy after following several tips from you guys. I flew with steady 45 FPS in F16, F18 and A10C 2 in Caucasus, Syria and Persian Gulf. In my test missions I had a few ground targets that I attacked. The FPS had a small dip in gun runs, but mostly at 45 FPS. The stat in SteamVR stat was mostly green with some orange lines here and there. I decided to test one of the instant missions (A10C 2 Medium West Georgia Winter) and my heart dropped. The FPS became horrible. Around 30 and the stat in SteamVR was orange and red. I have some trouble understanding this. Even if there are a few more things happening on the ground, I don't understand why this should have such a hard impact on the GPU. In SteamVR the stat will have blue lines of there is a CPU bound issue. I have none of those. I used MSI Afterburner while playing and neither CPU or GPU were at 100% load. Is it my 16GB RAM that causes this nonsense? I7-8750H@4,1GHz 16GB Ram 2666MHz RTX 2070 8 GB Reverb G2
