  1. I'm a casual pilot and have been wildly impressed with BS which has the most incredible graphics even with a modest $100 video card. But I miss the thrill of speed and so I have dusted off an original copy of Lock On plus the Unofficial Flaming Cliffs. LO has installed without a hitch (No copy protection. Ah those were the days!) Questions 1. Do I NEED to install any patches to LO 2. Is it worth installing unofficial Flaming Cliffs? 3. Or can I just buy or download FC2.0 (I assume its out now) and install over LO?
  2. Sorry FSX snag is that when I play at my maximum resolution as soon as I come out to a menu it reverts back to low res for the menus. Still I can live with it but not good. My max res for my Samsung is 1680 by 1050. I¿ll try your suggestions and report back. Its now academic but still worth resolving for the next person who has the same problem- Thanks Shad
  3. Well it workks. Running FSX at maximum res, exiting and then going into Ka50 my menus are at 1680 by 1050 and I have all the buttons:):):) But ofif I exit and then go back in the old problem returns:(:(:( Does this mean I have to run FSX before I run Ka50? Is this another dastardly Microsoft trick?:music_whistling::music_whistling::music_whistling: If soI'll just have to fly out of Lodon City before I climb into my helicopter - that is unless one of you can understand why.:pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly:
  4. Well it works:music_whistling::music_whistling::music_whistling:I exit FSX and go straightinto Ka59 and the menus are at 1680 by 1050 and I have all the buttons. Unfortunately once I exit ut returns to its old state.:(:( I guess that means (unless one of you experts can reason it out) I guess that means I0ll have to make a short trip out of London City airport before I get intomy helicopter.:pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly:
  5. Well I have tried all your suggestions except the Window theme (are you serious and is there such a thing?) and the repeated running with a diffferent resolution My screen is set at ist max 1600 x1050 I have tried chaging that and all it does is mess up my icons. I actually tried Win logo +- since win logo ++ xooms in- I need to xoom out. I0m goin to try running FSX on a high resolution to see if thay will unstick something- I can fly with ENTER from the keyboard but how do U get the other button's corresponding keys?
  6. Thanks. I disabled A1 (now I know what you are talking about) Didn't change anything unfortunately. Can I not use the keyboard? I know that ENTER is OK - how about cancel and the resr?
  7. No luck in finding a solution. My view is that as hadware is more expensive than games the game manufacturers have reponsibility to ensure their programs function with major card manufacturers or state otherwise. So far I have had absolutely no suppor from DCS other than to say install the latest drivers. Pity because it is such an excellent simulation.
  8. If OpenGL is a problem can I not use DirectX and if so how?
  9. I spoke too soon. Its gone back to its original state and I tried to remember the sequence of strokes that nade it work but without success. It showa that it is a sort of bug and that the card is able to show it correctly with the right inputs. I'll keep trying.
  10. Well I stand corrected. I changed the resolution to the maximum and then put it back to 1158 and the next time I loade the program the menu was at 1600 and showing the bottom bar although the resolution shown is still 1158. A miracle:megalol::megalol::megalol:
  11. 1. Changing the resolution unfortunately doesn't change the resolution of the menus. 2. The driver I have loaded is specifically for Win7 64 bit and very recent like Feb tis year. 3 I'm notmuch of a tweaker and in the full suite for the card I see atrillion things one can do but not a C.1 disable. Could you be more specific.
  12. I'm running Ka50 patched on 64 bit Win 7 using a Radeon 4670 with Feb 2010 drivers. Not one of the menus shows the Cancel nor OK buttons at the bottom of the screen. Its not a problem of the monitor since I can run the same game on Windows XP without a problem. I can get round it by using ENTER for OK fro the keyboard. To cancel I have to go to the Win7 thumb-nail and click the exit button. Interestingly the thumbnail shows the buttons are there but unusable. None of this is very elegant and I assume there is a bug.
  13. I installed the latest Nvidia driver - Nov 2009 - and now it wont play at all on fullscreen. What do I do? Revert to the older Video driver? But Flight Simulator X accepte full screen with no problem?. Aviador
  14. Unfortunately its on the very first page and the location of the arrow relative to the appropriate vutton changes with eacjh resolutiom option. Sounds to me like a video card misread. I know that Win 7 produces different colors to XP but this makes the game unplayavle in Win 7 Aviador a
  15. I downloaded and played on XP without a hitch. I have now transferred to a new computer that has Win7 basic and the mouse pointer doesot coincide with the buttons depending on the resolution selected. Is tis a bug or am I doing something wrong_ I have downloaded amd installed the 101 patch but the problem remains. Avuador
