Simple! Cal it DCS: Black Shark. Then we would know what the subject was and DCS would continue to get their name remembered for when the next simulation comes out. Worth doing before someone else decides to run a parallel forum such as SOH.

I read on the forum that this was available from Amazon. I oredered it but they told me that as I lived in Chile I could not have it. I suspect they think it's a game and as Chile has an unfortunate reputation for intellectual property theft they faer it will be copied- Well I have it on my computer when I downloaded Black Shark but it would be horrendously expensive to print it- Is there any country other than the US that sells it as I'm sure this is a govermental restriction and nothing to do with Amzon except probably their interpretation of US Customs restrictions. :mad::mad::mad:

I suspect you are right that it takes you to the next waypoint but it does change the thrust and sometimes the altitude. It also adjusts the flaps but you need to lower your landing gear yourself coming in to land. Also it seems you have to engage it beore you do the LAlt thingymijigs other wise you get taken out of NAV mode. I've searched the manual but what the manual really needs is an index of keywords so that you can jump to the appropriate page - a mammoth task I suspect because it is voluminous.

Can anyone explain to me exactly what the key A does and what it doesn't do. Imagiine my surprise when I went to get a coffee I found on my return the aircraft coming in for a pergect landin -albeit a slightly higher speed than recommended for touchdown. But I also know it will also fly me straight into mountains unless I take over.

Ignore my last message. I have tried disabling the desktop theme as well as checking the compatability box and it works for me on both BS and FC. Why did noone suggest this to me!!!!! Thanks anyway.

I had that problem exactly with both BS and FC There are five pages of suggestions as to how to resolve it at http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=53179 It is important to get max resolution on the menus so that you can see and use the lower buttons It has nothing to do with the Win7 task bar. I finally solved the problem by loading FSX at max resolution and I run the first FSX menu in the background (minimise it). Of course altermmatively you can operante the OK and Cancel buttons that you cannot see with the ENTER and the ESCAPE keys. However I have no idea what the appropriate key is for the EDIT button. No I tried that and it didn't work. I tried it because it soled problems that I had with both OFF (Over Flanders Fields) and also interestingly with TOW Kursk 1943.. However I have officially reorted the problem which luckily for me is resoved by having FSX menu running in the background. Thanks anyway.

You're absolutely right. The very first F15 mission is just that - an air to air missile and gun practice. With my screen set at 168 and poor eyesight I tensd to avois the fine print which as you can imagine can be quite embarassing. Duly grateful and properly embarassed. Thank you :thumbup:

OK that figures but then how do I practice what the videos have preached? Quick Start had you on the air and at the mercy of the enemy. How do I practise takeoffs and landings? There is no mission builder that would allow me to build appropriate missions - or is there? I could of course install my original FC and practice there.

All videos installed and working EXCEPT neither the pause nor the escape keys work. Neither P nor Pause nor S have any effect and the escape takes you back to the training menu. I'm flying with Win7 and FSX in the background so as to access menus in high resolution.

Did I metion that the problem is only with single player for both BS and FC. I should also add that running in XP mode doesn't help though it is necessary for Flanders Fields and TOT Kursk 1943.

I liked the idea of downloading the training videos seperately but am I right in thinking that you are unable to escape and take control? I'm assuming so even though access is via the game menus. If that is the case can we erase the voice over saying " at any time if you want to etc. etc."? Or is it my another fault on my computer that escape takes me straight back to the traing missions menu?

One final point. The great advantage of using FSX is that you can minimize the menu page and it and the sound disappear in Win7. I'm sure its there somewhere but I now leave it on all day just in case I want to fly either BS or FC2

Actually I'm using two desk top coputers one XP the other Win7 and a switcher between the two for the Samsung monitor and the keyboard and mouse. The joystick is USB so easy to move over. I run BS on both but the 4670 ATI works much better than the Nvida 6000. The problem, now happily solved, lies somewhere in the realm of drivers or perhaps the BS program. I think the latter is highly unlikely since I have the identical problen with LockOn FC2

I have a personal patch that completely solves the problem as follows. 1. I have FSX at max detail 2. I go to the first menu at FSX eg Free Flight which has a an image of your aircraft revolving in the menu 3. I then go to BS and the menu comes up correctly at 160 by 1050 I slect my missionor campaign and fly with the FSX menu supposedly in the background but the sound is completely blocked out by BS and the flight performance is unaffected. 4 Most of important of all when I finish flying I return to the menus AND THEY REMAIN AT 1680 BY 1050.

I'm not sure where to post these sort of enquiries but as it is a problem for me here goes. The shooting range mission starts with the engnes stopped. I start them by pressing LWin + Home and lights come on switches click the door closes etc and then it closes down - the engines I mean. What am I doing wrong?

I think I went to Radeon and ended up with ATI. Antway there were a lot of drivers for the different models. But here is another curiosoty. I have now installed both BS and LO FC" with downloads. Both games exhibit the same problem with menus at minimum resolution BUT!!!when I go to multiplayer both show the complete menus at max resolution. CONCLUSION! There is a small bug somewhere bt it is unlikely to be Win 7 nor the card.

Well nothing if not consistent. I have installed FC2 and the problemd with low resolution for the menu pages is identical to BS so I can assume that there is a problem between the dcs engine and the ATI card and/or Win7. I can live with it.

That's good news as myy LO is installed but the disc is so old and battered that sometimes it takes an age to work. But how do I install FC2? steup-exe and then the two bins?

OK Have purchases LO2 and I0m downloading 3 things - an exe and 2 bins Is there any order that these should be installed?
