  1. I ended up having to wipe the /mods/aircraft and /backup folder and repair it. Seems to have taken care of it, maybe it'll help others that have the issue.
  2. Repaired, only mod is SRS. Doesn't work. No changes to my computer.
  3. Does the RWR not work when the Kirov engages you? I can't seem to find anything about it.
  4. Well if you got another 62" TV it still wouldn't be as big of a viewing surface as my projector, guess I still win. Don't need to get butthurt.
  5. You're just not getting the concept of having a screen 3 times as wide as 1. You cannot get the same field of view, period. I don't care how much money you have spent on computers.
  6. Field of view, it is much higher AND a higher resolution than your hdtv. Have you ever used a triple monitor setup or are you talking out of your ass?
  7. I have a 112" projector, it has NOTHING on triple monitor.
  8. Oh man, you are missing out - I am telling you, with the system you are building you should really look into it. It makes a huge difference, add a trackir in and you have it made.
  9. Do you plan on going the eyefinity route in the future?
  10. You didn't read what I said. There are a lot of hard drives in it, I bought it for the looks/cable management at first. I am water cooling, I haven't gotten around to it yet. If I am lucky I'll be able to hit 4.8.
  11. Not 150 more. I got mine for 350 - overclock it and you have a lot faster.
  12. Wrong. They are not the same cards. 5850 1440 Stream Processing Units 72 Texture Units 128 Z/Stencil ROP Units 32 Color ROP Units 5870 1600 Stream Processing Units 80 Texture Units 128 Z/Stencil ROP Units 32 Color ROP Units Also, I would go with 2x 500gb and Raid 0 them. Or the 640gb if it is close to the same price. Make sure you get WD black edition drives, not the green.
  13. This is the 800d, the light showing through is just because I didn't have the sides on. All of the wiring runs through the backside so the airflow is absolutely awesome in the case. There is so much room, I haven't had the chance to put mine on water yet. I am running 4.2 ghz stable on air though no problems, I could probably go higher if I messed with it a while. There's room for 3x120mm radiator at the top of the case, also there is a 4x sata hotswap bay in the front. Here's a little better shot of the wiring.
  14. 800d is a lot bigger and better made than that. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139001&Tpk=800d
  15. DONT get an 1156 board. Stay with a 1366. In the future you will be able to drop in the 6 core processors in the 1366. There will be no 1156 6 core chip. You may save a little bit going with 1156 but it is not worth it. It also does not support 2 16x pci-e slots. The slots on an 1156 board are electrically 16x but only support 16x and 8x when you run SLI/CF.
  16. I agree, don't get the 5850 - OC your 5870 a little, then add a second one later. Dump the Corsair memory too - go with some GSkill Trident 2000, your overclock will love you better. I agree- that case is... meh. Go with Corsair 800d. It's worth the extra money.
  17. Oh - well, eyefinity is a hardware based solution on the card, so it will not eat up CPU power when it is running. DCS runs very smooth for me - maxed out frames actually, I don't have a typical machine though. i7 920 @ 4.2 (Megahalem Black) EVGA X58 SLI LE 12gb GSkill Trident 2000 2x 640gb WD Caviar Black - RAID 0 XFX 5870 Corsair 800d 3x Dell 2209wa monitors in Eyefinity
  18. OK two things I have to say about your build: You will need an aftermarket HSF to overclock the i7 well - I have the Megahalem black and two Scythe Kama Flex fans - http://www.crazypc.com/products/sa1225fdb12h-58478H.html - they make two different models, a 'silent' and a 'high speed' model. I got the high speed model, 75 cfm and 34.8 db. They work great and aren't too loud. You also need GOOD thermal paste. It can make a big difference on temps and can make or break the O/C. My suggestion for memory is this: Stay away from Corsair, VERY far. I had 12 gig of Dominator (2x 6 gig sets), one set would not run anywhere near 1600, the other set barely over 1600. Corsair blamed my system for the problems, very unhelpful. The memory is overpriced and performs poorly. I went with GSkill Trident 2000, it was less than the Corsair and higher speed. I am currently running both 6 gig sets and they are running at full speed. Their tech support forum is top notch and were very helpful.
  19. If you are spending that much why not build it yourself? I can think of a few parts I would change out and still keep it under $1300 but would be a lot better.
  20. I have noticed no performance drop at all between single and triple screen, to put it in perspective... My single 5870 runs Aliens vs Predator in DX11 mode at 5040x1050 with all options (tesselation, ect) on smoothly. I can test it out, won't be until Monday (I have to work all weekend).
  21. You can use different size monitors, however they will all have to be set to the max resolution of the lowest monitor. In this case you would have to have all three set at 1280x1024, don't forget that you will have to get an active DP>DVI adapter to hook up the third screen.
  22. I tried the two aspects that you posted earlier and still getting that problem :(
  23. See now that looks sweet - what I was looking for. I was actually contemplating using my HDTV for shkval and abris that's mounted above on the wall and picking up a trackir. Excuse the mess, I just put the third monitor in and trying to finish the room remodel.
  24. Can I just enter that in the game or do I have to go in and edit the config file? I might slap in my extra video card this week and see if I can't get my instruments running on it.
  25. So I got my eyefinity setup running spread across 3 screens in landscape mode, but the problem I am running into is the cockpit is 'zoomed in' - I was hoping that it would be like one monitor and the two side monitors would be more peripheral vision (side glass). Right now I can zoom out only to the point where the HUD takes up the entire center screen and the two side monitors don't really do anything. It says the aspect ratio is 4.3 - if I change it to 16:10 (1680x1050 on all monitors) it looks weird, very fisheye.
