Exorcet Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I've had my X52 Pro for a while now with no problems, but I noticed today that button 25 (throttle 8 way switch going in the right position) won't work unless the throttle is set to less than the idle detent. If it didn't work at all I'd figure it was broken, but I don't know it would only work when the throttle is at some specific position. I tried testing the button in two aircraft and in the input menu, the any press of the button doesn't seem to register unless the throttle is in the position described above. Has anyone else faced this issue before or know of a possible cause/solution? Raven_Morpheus Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Check it in Windows Control Panel. If it still does it then it's a fault with the hat switch itself, probably loose wire/connection, as indicated by the fact you have to have the throttle in a certain position (presumably making the connection at this position and no other). If it doesn't do it in Control Panel then it's a problem peculiar to DCS, but I've the exact HOTAS as you and I can't say I've ever had such an issue.
HiJack Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Have you tried to unplug and select a new USB port? Also check controlpanel with no profiles loaded. If it works in controlpanel it must be the profile somehow.
sungsam Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Hope you escape with solutions above ! In any case dont miss to completely uninstall and reinstall drivers/software the way Saitek mentions as Uninstall Dance, if abone doesn't work. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84295 Also There is a bad possibility to be an incident of cables shield coating ware / misconduct caused by the movement of throttle. Cables are running from buttons of throttle down to the base of it and into the printed circuit Good lack with that. Edited April 27, 2015 by sungsam DCS F16C 52+ w JHMCS ! DCS AH64D Longbow !
Exorcet Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 OK, it's not the USB port and the problem still exists in Control Panel. Looks like it's a hardware issue afterall. I haven't tried reinstalling yet, but I'll try it before I start taking the stick apart. Thanks for all the help and tips, really appreciated. If there's good news to this, it was that I was planning to buy a new stick with DCS 2.0 to go with the new computer, but it would be nice to have a back up as well. Anyway, if I do manage to fix the X52, I'll make sure to post here in case anyone has this issue in the future. sungsam Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) Yes do please follow the reinstall procedure first. Chances are high to be resolved . If wires is the case, then after fixing cover them with dact tape as extra shield, friction will apply on dact tape not on wire shield coating. Edited April 28, 2015 by sungsam DCS F16C 52+ w JHMCS ! Pikey Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 mine went a bit sticky after dropping it as bizzarely that hat switch will hit the ground first with the throttle fully forward - it sticks out of the footprint of the entire device. It's worth popping the x52 open, its all cheap and simple inside. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

Exorcet Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 Reinstall failed to resolve the issue, so it looks like I'll be needing those videos above. Thanks for the links. I'll probably take it apart this weekend.
