gunterlund21 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) For some reason my Helios profile editor will no longer run on my windows 10 system. I have no idea why it stopped. When I click on the application, nothing happens. When I try to run the control center it crashes. Ive reinstalled and cleared the registry using CCleaner. Anyone run into this? Im perplexed. Update In my troubleshooting adventures, Windows 10 has decided that Helios is incompatible now. Ive run in admin mode as well, and the editor wont even execute. Iku_CC Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I had same problem with TrackIr and I needed to disable Program Compatibility Assistant. To stop it... - goto services -> find Program Compatibility Assistant Service -> click it and stop it - test Helios - if you find it help..then change it's start up type to "disabled" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] HP Z420 | Xeon E5-1650 @3.20GHz/3.70Ghz | 16Gb DDR3-1333 | ZOTAC GTX 980 Ti AMP! | Micron RealSSD C400 256Gb | Sound Blaster Z | TrackIR4 | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog| CH Pro pedals | Win 10 Pro 64-bit

Snacko Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I also had a problem with Helios crashing on startup. The Event Viewer indicated a UnauthorizedAccess error. But today, I found out that it was a new feature of my BitDefender AV/FW. I had to upgrade that with Win 10, and it added a Ransomware Protection that I did not know about. I had to open up the Blocked List, and Approve it, to move the .exe's to the Allow list, and now Helios works fine, and so do all the other apps in the list! Snack Officer Intel I9-10850K (OC @ 5.0ghz) │ 64GB (4x16GB) DDR4 3200 │Gigabyte RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24gb - ҉ - Blackshark Cockpit Trainer - ҉ - ♣ Thread | ♥ Download

slicker55 Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 It's worth noting that you are using Bitdefender whereas others might be using alternative AV software. However, your discovery is great news for anyone else experiencing this issue who might otherwise resort to reinstalling windows. The lesson here is for people to check their AV solution to see if Helios etc has been temporarily blocked - well done mate! i7-5820K 3.30Ghz | Asus X99-S | Sapphire R290X | R7 240 | 16GB DDR4 PC4 2800MHz | Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (OS) | Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD (DCS) | Noctua NH-D14 2011 Cooler | OCZ ZT 750W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular PSU | NZXT Phantom Enthusiast | 3 x IIyama Prolite E2473HDS 24" | 1 x Dell S2240T 21.5" Touch Screen | Windows 10 64-Bit | AMD Eyefinity 5760 x 1080 | TrackIR5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind 1771 | Vaicom Pro + VA (Licensed) | Sennheiser Game Zero | Honeycomb Yoke (June 2020)]
